This season is over as much as Walters wants to believe otherwise. This season is also sending the program backwards.

Even if Walters wants to go down with Card, we have been outmatched over the last 3 games, Browne cannot get mop up duty for a few minutes to get experience?

With our OL, Card could get hurt. Are we going to keep Card out there with a limp or crutches?

might have to do w/ your last sentence regarding the OL, maybe they don't want Browne to get hurt

If we were to do that, I'd rather burn the redshirt year and play Davila. I wasn't sure why he was listed as 2nd on the depth chart from the get-go if he wasn't going to play.

Browne did play mop-up duty against indiana state.

I’d say we just play card until Penn state and play Davila last 3 games and preserve his redshirt. Wouldn’t want his first game to be at Ohio state.

who cares about redshirts anymore? If a player is any good they will transfer. If they can't crack the line up they will transfer. How do you think we got the players from Texas and UGa?

If a player can play 4 games and still maintain his red shirt status, why not play them in 4 games when the game is already decided. ? Why waste an entire year?

Probably because he's not very good

Ah, but we'll never know how he does in a real game situation unless he is put in one and we can then see if he rises to the occasion or doesn't. Some people will perform at their best in an actual game and won't show that much in practice.

He's been in one. We've seen him play. He's not particularly good. He's certainly not better than Card, who I'm on record as not being all that impressed with.

Well the football wizards at PFF said he was one of the top 10 passers in the country on Saturday…

If they are smart the players care about their red shirt

Probably only important if a player needs a fifth year to make it into the pros.
Or make more $ in the pros. It’s generally in their favor to take a redshirt year for the experience and physical growth of an additional year. Not many are patient enough for it though.
