Saw the Purdue/VaTech game.
I know it's been mentioned a bit, but I'm surprised it hasn't been emphasized around here:
I started this year expecting Haarms to be a major difference maker for you guys. A 7'2" guy with athleticism and a great motor is a major prize piece. However, so far, he has not been a defensive presence, and his post game looks unchanged from last year. That surprises me; usually the biggest leap in player development is after one year at the college level.
Purdue has some nice "they are what they are" pieces, and two wild-card talented players with upside - Eastern and Haarms. Eastern looks improved, and the increase in minutes has only helped. Haarms doesn't really look better than last year.
