Walters has to go. From a guy who liked him and wanted to see more

Harrell was only one part of the problem.

We have recruits de-comitting and players leaving the team "for personal reasons" ... this was a gigantic failure by the administration and they need to stop the bleeding.. NOW... you could quite literally pull someone from the stands and do a better job than what we are seeing here....

No offense but we all wanted to see more. The issues that got us here are deep in the AD’s decisions.

Yeap, I'm done.

Wanted Walters to succeed, and thought the offense left the defense out to hang to much last week. This week, the offense looks a little better, but this team is a train wreck with some many issues I'm now ready to stick fork in Walters because he is done.

We’ve all seen enough. It’s over. Do it now and spend the rest of the season holding the kind of practices that will separate the men from the boys …
We are a truly awful team with missed tackles, dump penalties, and missed assignments. He has lost this team.

Just a curious question. Walters gets fired but is picked up as a DC somewhere next year. Does that mean he gets paid by Purdue + his new employer or is Purdue's obligation reduced by his salary at his new school?

Team quit on him in 2nd half. Walter's body language looks like Purdue won't pay for his plane ride home.
They shouldn’t. Let them ride home in a bus sitting in their smelly uniforms. They don’t act like a D1 program so don’t deserve to be treated like one.

Depends upon the contract language. I thought I read somewhere that Purdue's buy-out obligations would be reduced/offset if he gets employed as a coach elsewhere. Don't know if its dollar-for-dollar or not. Given he's a first time HC, I would be surprised if that wasn't in there.

If I were Walters, I would offer to leave now for a reduced buy out so I would not have to suffer 7 more BOHICA moments.

Terrible hire, Walters needs to be fired pronto, this is on Bobinski, Purdue needs to figure out if football isn’t important anymore, if this is their take shame on them.

"From a guy who liked him and wanted to see more".

This is one of the reasons no one should listen to what you have to say.
Wanted to see more as in… no one was firing anyone after 14 games.

Like nat said, unless you are donating big money, no one at the AD cares what you think anyway.

I think this was so bad you might have to clear out the AD as well. It’s not just the hire, it’s making the hire without any controls. No former head coaches. No coaches who have called a college offense.
I agree. I wouldn't trust Bobinski to make the next hire after this one.

In hindsight, hiring a DC with zero HC experience at a school that traditionally wins with seasoned offensive coaches was boneheaded.

Was there any word on the other candidates Purdue looked at before hiring Walter’s? Curious who else Purdue was looking at.

If I remember right, Helton from WKU said no and they wanted to talk with Todd Monken. But then out of nowhere Walters was hired.

Not just that but also not requiring he have older former head coaches and another guy who has called a college offense on his staff .. that to me is the kicker

You don’t know ball. Go back to On3. If I buy you a membership there will you leave?
Who is the next hire going to be, how many games will he win here. If he loses, how many years will he be here? If he wins how long will he stay?

It’s not my job.

All I know is what my eyes tell me and it’s that Walters is wrong for Purdue.

We move on and try our best to hire the right guy. Sometimes it works out. Most times here it doesn’t.

It is what it is. Don’t feel like I’m in the wrong for wanting what’s best for the program.

Walters is wrong for Purdue. So why are you so angry? What, do you think if I agreed after ND, Bobinski would decide that that does it and fired him? Lol.

Honestly, when you make these hired as an AD, your credibility is on the line too. I wouldn’t care if Bobinski followed walters.

You’re not wrong. Whether I liked him or not, Danny had to go too. Everyone has their time.

You sound like an idiot trying to disparage Brohm while excusing Walters.
Not excusing Walters. I liked him for having the balls to take the job. I maintained that we should wait and see since the AD wasn’t firing him after ND anyway,

He’s got to go…

Brohm was still a highly flawed coach who left Jack shit behind. You acting like he’s Joe tiller is stupid

I don't even think Brohm needs to be brought up when talking about Walters. There's simply no excuse for what were seeing on the field this year. You trying to pin it on Brohm is just weird.

Then you try to change the argument to everyone saying that Brohm was better than he was. Clearly nobody has said that here but if that's what you have to resort to in order to stand in the corner you've backed yourself into then so be it.

They are very separate. I can acknowledge that Walters needs to go. I wanted to see a Second season mostly because the ad is never going to fire someone 14 games in.

I’ve seen enough. Maybe if this guy becomes a coordinator again and then goes to g5 and does the work that’s one thing. You are right. He was not ready. At all
