Trey is making his decision on October 30th

What if was a planned “leak” by Kaufman and this guy to get everyone riled up hearing Purdue then he pulls a “syke” and picks IU. It would be a dick move for sure and I doubt that’s the case but you never know these days. Hopefully we hear Purdue this evening. Boiler Up
With how this year has gone as a whole, it wouldn't shock me one bit. And then a double whammy of picking Indiana State.

I like how kids in this area, including Louisville in this with Southern Indiana, are starting to see the benefits of Purdue. I think the Brohms coming to Purdue has helped with that. I realize that the Brohms are across the river, but Rondale is an Indiana boy. He grew up in New Albany.

Kentuckiana kids are looking at Purdue more now than they ever did. They see the quality coaches and the no BS that our coaches give to recruits. That is rare with almost every other coach saying things out of both sides of their mouths. Our coaches tell it how it is. Parents and kids respect that (most do). There is still people going to UK that care about being shown the money.

With that being said, if it turns out the rumors are right, I will have to gloat a little bit though. It makes my day. I live in IU, UL and UK country, and I take pride in hearing about Purdue in a good light and getting mentioned locally. I still hear all the time from UL and UK fans on why did they did not pursue Rondale like they should have.
Go at it...I know one down there and I'll bet he is going at it as well! ;)

Growing up in Indianapolis and being the 1 person in my friend group who went to Purdue and all others choosing IU, I will gloat a bit too today if rumors hold true.

IU grad/long time fan. First, or maybe second, time posting on the “dark side” but come in peace to congratulate Gold and Black for landing Trey. There will be a few of the inevitable “we did not need him” posts on the IU sites but he seems like a good kid that we really, really wanted, especially because there is a good chance TJD leaves after this season.
Congrats again (just hope this does not become a trend :) )

Sorry if this has been already discussed...but do we know if it's 6pm eastern...or central??

We’ve been on the receiving end of that type of package blast many times, (Jaren Jackson JR, Dawson, Gary Harris, etc etc) and it takes a lot of class to come over and make a post like this.

Seeing more articles that feel the rumors are true.

Looks like more and more the rumors are gaining strength. There was a little blurp in there about Trey, but you had to search really hard to find it. ;)

When did Isaiah Thomas from Northern Indiana go to Purdue?
my mind thought the same thing. There is the region, central Indiana and southern Indiana it seems along with Fort Wayne ;) But yeah, I thought about IT in the northern section. ;)

Jerry Meyer - Director of Basketball for 247Sports just picked Purdue.

It looks like it would be 100% Purdue, if someone that picked IU from April has not changed his pick. T minus 4 hours and counting.

I have to think he meant Ivey? Although Isaiah Thomas and Jaden Ivey aren't exactly easy to confuse.

yeah, well the article never mentioned Purdue, Matt or Trey a whole lot and so confusing those two should be no surprise if that is what he did. It is okay...maybe he is so shook up he just couldn't type it?

If we do get Trey, is this a 2 person class or are we going after anyone else for 2021?

If it is just Caleb and Trey, where does everyone think this class ends up nationally ranked?

2 man class unless someone magically becomes available by decommitting from another school we were already recruiting.
The only other additions we would make is if someone transfers, and even if we do have a transfer Painter still may leave it as a 2 man class. Assuming everyone stays we will have a full 13 scholarship roster. That could all change though with the NCAA almost certainly having to adjust scholarship limits because of the extra year of eligibility.

i would think top 10? Maybe 9 or 10 in the country. Michigan just picked up a 5 star, Caleb Houston, and they have qty with 5. M$U has Max Christie and a couple 4 stars. I would say #3 in the league.

It has to be right behind the 2007 class as far as impact. Who would have guessed Furst and Kaufman a year ago? We were worried about M$U and UVA for Furst. IU for Kaufman. Kudos to Brantley (Kaufman) and Lutz (Furst) in their recruitment. I’m sure Micah was involved too.

15-20 I’d assume and I’d be ecstatic to start being in that range consistently. We have a large enough collection of talent now that we should get a lot of looks from 2022 5*’s to be our final piece to the puzzle

Yeah, probably around that area. Only 2 recruits will hold down the ceiling for how high the class can rank.

agreed, but I don’t think Purdue is necessarily done. Painter said he would be a lot more likely to over sign given the rule change.

If it is true that TK is coming to Purdue, I hope that Boilermaker Basketball supporters don't gloat and rub it in the faces of others. This is truly a recent rare event to land one of Indiana's best from Southern Indiana over IU - - I hope we act like this is something that we can expect more of in the future.

As a lifelong Indiana resident, 2nd generation Boilermaker and someone who has worked with high school kids for more than 35 years I can confidently tell everyone that the tide for Purdue support is turning - - - getting back to the way it was pre-Bob Knight. Objectivity in local media coverage is beginning to get back to where it was in the 50's and 60's - - Purdue is seen as cool and relevant with teenagers at a level that I haven't seen in more than a generation.

Let's act like TK's recruitment and commitment is the norm - - and that there are likely more to come in the future. Matt Painter's honest, truthful, and high character approach is the RIGHT way - - the next few years have the potential to be even more fun and satisfying than the last few -- and those have been truly awesome!
Don’t try to ruin our fun

If Trey commits to us then how many spots will we have open for the 2022 class? Lot of good prospects that we are high on in that class

Who are our biggest recruiting priorities in the 2022 class?

I would say Iwuchukwu as a C to replace Trevion as the top priority (rotate with Edey). Thornton announces top 5 on Saturday. He would be a good fit at G but hard to pull a 5 star from GA. Jalen Washington at F but that will be tougher unless we know Furst wants to shift to a 5.
