Today's (Saturday) inside stories from Spain

Actually, let's start with Friday evening. Several team members were feeling their oats and must have had Olympic fever because they challenged Morgan Burke to racing in the hotel pool. It is still unclear whether they thought they were challenging a 60 something Athletic Director or if they knew he was captain of his Purdue swim team in 1973. Well....it didn't go well for the team. Results were Ryan Cline for the Silver and Morgan Burke for the Gold!! The man still has it! . It makes Kathy very proud to see the relationship our student athletes have with their AD. The mutual respect is evident. Today was a 6 hour bus ride along the Mediterranean coast from Valencia to Barcelona. The scenery was amazing, even spectacular. Upon arrival in Barcelona they immediately set out on a 3 hour tour. No, this is not Gilligan's Island. This was a walking tour. They didn't even check in first. Since Kathy is bothered with bad knees, she hobbled back to her room and is sinking her legs and she passed on dinner this evening. Hopefully more stories to come. Barcelona is the last stop. They will be there until they fly home on Wednesday
