Just a week ago, people were shoveling dirt onto the grave of Tom Izzo and the 2016-2017 MSU basketball team.
Individuals on here were saying Purdue was going to annihilate MSU when the two teams meet in East Lansing. That simply is not going to happen.
The 4 freshmen for MSU are very special. Miles Bridges will be the most talented player on the court when the two teams play. Tom Izzo has stated pg Cassius Winston is the best passer at MSU since Magic Johnson. Nick Ward is a beast down in the low block. Ward's numbers are very similar to Swanigan's as a freshman (although Ward is a much better shot blocker) The final piece of the freshman group is McDonald's All American Josh Langford who is just rounding into form after a lingering hamstring injury. Langford is probably MSU's best lockdown defender.
There is a reason this group of freshmen have been touted as Izzo's best ever in his 20+ year coaching career. The freshmen will arguably be 4 of the 5 most talented players on the court when Purdue faces MSU, with Swanigan being the other.
Never ever underestimate Tom Izzo. Those early season losses to Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, Baylor & Northeastern (without Bridges) have made Izzo's team tougher and better prepared for the NCAA tourney.
Btw,
For those of you thinking MSU wont get into the NCAA tourney. Dream on! They'll be there. They always are. It's what HOF coach Izzo does year in and year out. Book It!
