Coach V was right. Purdue did play better than the first time vs Md but not well enough. We are just overmatched and cannot compete with the talent of the Terps. The truth is that the only two teams the Boilers can't compete with are Maryland and OSU. We can compete with the rest of the league but that means we can win or be beaten in every game we play. Better than last year when we were not competitive but still a long way from being a really solid team. There are a lot of teams beneath the top two at this point in the season and it will be interesting to see which ones grab one of the top 4 spots below the leaders. Purdue has just as good a chance as any and a shot to reach the semis at least of the BTT. There is so much parity. PSU beat MSU on the road tonight for example. Wonder if the Purdue team that beat Minn and Iowa and PSU will emerge or the one that lost to Wisc.
P.S. A dead horse comment: Abundantly clear that this program is now locked into competing at best and the days of championships are long gone.

Now that we're past this game, the team better bring the fight the rest of the way if they want in the NCAA tournament. It would be a shame for them not to go after playing so well for the first part of the season.

Agree, they have definitely down turned. Maddening to watch some times as they play really well, then look like a grade school team. Will be interesting to see if they can get it together. I think they need 10 conference wins and at least one in the BTT to go to the Dance. Prob a lock for the NIT, but I think that would be a disappointment for them.
