Micah's first game against Painter. It is safe to say that no opposing head coach knows Purdue's players better than the PSU head coach. Will that have much of an impact Saturday?

I’ve watched a couple of their games. They play long on defense, but both games I watched were not against teams that can really stretch the floor in the offensive half court. IF we hit shots, offensively we should be fine. They mostly run an offense that ultimately ends up as repeated dribble drives from the wing to the middle, and then either continue to drive or kick weak side for a 3 or a repeat to the other side. Since our team defense hasn’t looked great lately, it will likely come down to them hitting from deep. I imagine our weak side defender will sag into the lane to cut off the drive and the 3 from the wing will be left open more often than not. Fingers crossed they don’t hit it.

Lose to PSU and all players, coaches, AD, and the Pres should all leave that night.
Purdue is not going to lose to Penn State. It might be close for a while, but Purdue will pull away for a relatively easy win. Penn State really struggles to score. They are also really thin down low. After the muscular dude....they really don't have anyone. Harrar is a pretty good player but he gets winded easily and he can't guard Williams and Edey. He'll get in foul trouble.

Penn State does not matchup well with Purdue. Never really have, but especially this season. Ya never know when on the road in the B10, but on paper it should be fairly comfortable win for PU.

I am hoping that PSU can control the tempo and grind out a low-scoring game, like we did with LSU and IU. However, I am not holding my breath.

I am jealous of your size, every single season. I think Micah has Penn State going in the right direction, it's just too early to match up with Purdue.

Purdue has only not scored 70 twice this season, and, it lost both times (both in conference play)...it has only played one true road game...and lost...if PSU can indeed dictate tempo (as Rutgers and Wisconsin both did), they have a chance...and, Purdue historically has not played tremendously well there.

Purdue should indeed win, but, they should have won at Rutgers as well, and, they should have won at home the other night.

Micah is good...really good...and, with some better players (if he is able to get them), he will really get things moving in the right direction there.

I don’t like the early start time on the road. This will be like a road game from last year with an empty arena. Maybe they will still have the people cutouts in the seats. Shrews is trying to get fans to show up though.

He has a top 25 recruiting class coming in next year. A top 100 big who played on ESPN2 last night, starting 5 for the #10 team in the nation, and also a 4-star combo guard from Philadelphia (Brown, was a PU commit, So you are probably familiar).

It's a shame that Brockington transferred out, and is now leading the number 8 team in the nation. The guy was a stud... Same as Jamari Wheeler with tOSU now and Myreon Jones with Florida now. Give us 2 of them and this team is in NCAA contention.

I think that Penn state's future is very bright.

Brown should be a good one (was a tough loss for Purdue), and I would agree that Penn State has the chance to be very good if they can keep the continuity. I would also agree they'd have a solid shot at the NCAA field with Wheeler, Jones, and Brockington.

This could be a very interesting contest today.

If we don't score and don't defend like we have in the last few games, we will lose this one. I'm anxious to see if there are any lineup changes and anxious to see our 'D' in the first few minutes. Also, are Hunter and Newman going to continue with their uninspired play?

I was never a Wheeler fan, and, never will be...that was addition by subtraction for Penn St.

They miss Brockington more than anyone.

Jones would have definitely helped.

Chambers was able to get some talent there as well...the problem they have had, is, can they stack some classes...and, can they find a coach capable of then winning with it...Shrewsberry is an offensive guru, and, benefited from his time at Butler and Purdue as well with respect to defense also.

One remained uninspired, the other did not even get a chance, and, if there is not "more" to that story, that is concerning for sure.

I'll give you a partial credit on your prediction...

And they did. Tough game. I think Coach Shrewsbury will build Purdue 2.0 at Penn State and we are in for some tough games in the years to come.

I sure was wrong on who would get who in foul trouble.
I would have been wrong on that prediction too, who would have thought a Football player masquerading as a basketball player would get our 2 Bigs in foul trouble. Never can predict some bad calls

yes, I would think so. He knows all the weaknesses, can he and does he have players to exploit them, who knows? He does have them playing well.
you can tell he's an offensive minded coach, he lets his shooters shoot through some off streaks.
