Purdue offers 2025 four-star guard Braylon Mullins

So does ND. UNC has offered Mullins so I’d assume he goes there
Mullins has at least 27 offers including UConn and many other big name Power 5 schools. Competition is going to be fierce for his commitment. Today he stated he’d like to cut his list to 10 (12) by the end of June. He said he would like to cut it to 5 before his high school season starts and he will take official visits between now and then. So far IU is the only official visit he has set for September 20th.

Sisley and Mullins will need to figure out if they’re ok with being recruited over because IU will do it in a heartbeat just to make the tourney and then get dog walked.
IU recruits? I thought IU only gives out 💰 to the best available players.

Oh they’ll give em money. They’ll just need to be ok with not playing and getting recruited over if they’re not up to IU standards (5 star) right away. Cuz woody and crew have yet to develop any player from year 1-4…and will recruit over anyone.

I guess Reneau could be the first developed player by woody and co, but he was at one time a 5 star but is nowhere near nba draft boards after his first 2 seasons.

I’m hoping that Haralson, Mullins and Sisley don’t choose the Hoosiers giving them a couple really quality IN players to actually build a team around. Haralson almost assuredly a one and done but Mullins and Sisley are likely multi year high level competitors. Moreover having to listen to their fan base gloat lol.

I'm not worried about who they recruit/pay. Woody is a typical NBA coach with zero ability to develop. I want to see 3*-4*'s becoming game changers and then I might be a little worried but they're not CMP/Purdue and consistently winning at a high clip.

It all just depends what kind of mindset all 3 have, ya know? Do they want the $$$$, do they want playing time, do they actually care about being developed?

I still think Haralson won’t be in Indiana after his high school career is done. Sisley SHOULD go to IU but they’ll fumble that and Mullins is an IU lean but with all these offers from a bigger and better schools, why would he go there? Unless he wants the $$$, which is understandable, but other than that, he will play at a school that is very willing to bring in other players and play them over him, not develop him, and this would all be to get blown out in the first or second round of the NCAAT. But it’s their life and they can do what they want….at least IU can gloat they have all this nba talent tbh at couldn’t accomplish anything in college…I guess?

I commented may 21 speculating Furst could give up his scholarship to address the shortage issue and you responded yesterday after the scholarship issue was resolved to say it won’t happen

Not sure he will be staying in state haha. BUT Mullins will be going on 8 official visits:

“I have not been on any official visits yet,” Mullins said. “But I have eight officials set up. I have dates set with UConn first, and then I go to Michigan, UNC, Indiana, Purdue, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Kansas. I’m talking with Michigan State too, but nothing has been set with them. Arkansas also offered this week.”

Braylon Mullins discusses Indiana and Purdue

INDIANA: “I mean, I’m an Indiana kid, I grew up just an hour down the road. I don’t know if I’m going to stay home or not, but it is good to have them as an outlet. I’ve talked with Coach (Brian) Walsh since the end of freshman year, the beginning of my sophomore year, and they always make it a priority because I’m an Indiana kid and they want to get Indiana kids at Indiana.”
PURDUE: “They have been a great program with Coach (Matt) Painter. Coach Painter is a great guy, I’ve been on like three unofficial visits there. That is probably the most time I have spent with the players was at Purdue. They’re team bonding, you can just tell it is different, and that is why they make it so far in the tournament. They run good stuff and I could see myself there as well.”

“I’m thinking about cutting my list down to nine or ten after this event,” Mullins said. “My first high school game is around November 21 and my last visit is the end of October. The plan is to narrow to three or four and then commit in that time between my last visit and first high school game. With Arkansas offering, it gave me some thought, I’m not sure if I’m going to post a top group after this week or not.

“The team bonding will be big for me. I want to see myself fit into a system with good people, good coaches, and a good community. I’d like to have fun when I’m there. You know, you’re going to be living there year-round, so you want to have fun. Also, I want to work my ass off to see myself playing as a freshman, so I want to opportunity to work hard and be able to do that.”

Oh wow. I like our chances more than indiana based on what he said about both schools.

Aren't all these Indiana HS studs coming to Purdue, as I have it on board authority all that was needed was a FF & here they come.....

I think we will get more eyes on the program from top players. We don’t have much room—currently, for more than 1-2 players to join in 2025-2026 season. If we can get to the S16 this year at minimum and another F4 next year, I’d say recruits would be even more interested in Purdue. ESPECIALLY, if we start to have a few guys consistently get drafted (but that’s if a few develop and hit their stride in the next 1-2 years 😃).

welp, Duke just offered. No way this kid stays in state now with offers from: KU, UConn, Duke and UNC. Good for him, though. Would be great if he stayed in state and went to Purdue, but I gotta feeling he’s leaving the state post high school.

Based on his comments on what he’s looking for, and what his experience was at Purdue during his unofficial visit, they line up pretty well so I feel like we have a decent chance as it stands before official visits. He said that they talked about how they thought he’d fit in and said Carsen Edwards usage as well as other shooting guards were brought up. Just gotta hope he has a great experience at his official visit, the players show out the Purdue team bond and he sees a good game. He mentioned the other day in a previous interview he wants to experience a game in Mackey and that he hasn’t done that yet. A Mackey visit doesn’t fit into his pre/early season commitment though.

After our National Championship Game run this year, nothing would surprise me on the recruiting trail.

According to Brian…a name to keep track of for 2025 is Tre Singleton. 6’8 PF from Jeffersonville, IN who can shoot the 3 and is pretty quick (in Brian’s assessment). We haven’t offered…yet.
Nice!! There is so much talent out there both highly ranked and unranked.

How do you get Brian's info.?

Purdue will get back to the FF soon with or without more highly ranked kids.

Lance Jones is a perfect example. The team culture is permanently stamped in

West Lafayette, IN.

Updated list of offers....
(Apologies in advance for spelling).....
Haralson
Sisley
Walker
Mullins
Moreo
Reuben
Khamenia
Bundalo
West
Walker

Maybe Singleton adds to the list?

Think we only have 1 opening?
Thus, I am sure things work out fine for Purdue with one of these guys.....even if multiple of the above are uninterested.

Yeah I think, unless guys leave for the nba, the returning squad will be pretty experienced next year so making sure whoever comes in is a fit, is probably the most important thing, as opposed to highest ranking recruit.

I follow him on X and listen to the gold and black podcasts (only when he’s on though 😃).

Definitely looks like Purdue has a better shot than IU does.

From his comments it appears Purdue is his standard to measure other schools against. He knows Purdue, its players, its coach and what it’s all about. I have to believe he’s at the stage of comparing the teams like Arkansas and Duke to Purdue.

I have to give Calipari credit. He’s not taking a back seat going to Arkansas. Looks like he wants Arkansas to be the next UK. He’s going after some elite players.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Painter is recruiting some elite talented players with very few scholarships to offer.

Something else that just stood out. My apologies to those posters who only read the first line of my posts. Mullins said he plans to make his decision before his school year and college basketball season starts. That tells me he doesn’t really care about the success of the team but rather how he fits in with the coaches and players. Unlike our football program, Purdue doesn’t have to impress him on the court. Our reputation is already known and found acceptable! We are already considered one of the best.

Yep. Cal has unlimited resources at Arkansas —Walton family and Tyson are a few backing him.

Nice post for the most part. I think the last paragraph could have left off the insinuation that Mullins doesn’t care about the success of the program as it’s a bit far fetched. Purdue has the official visit to further make a great impression on him. Hopefully he’ll get some bonding time with the team and see a good football game. I thought it was interesting in an interview with Brian N I believe where he mentioned that Carsen Edwards was mentioned to him when discussing how he’d fit in and possible usage. He’s also mentioned how he knows and plans to work as hard as possible to earn his spot and improve which also aligns with Purdue. With the offers still coming I wonder if he’ll still keep his commitment timeline or if it gets delayed a bit? It’d be nice if he could attend a game at Mackey before he decides as he has never experienced that and that he’d like to. Time will tell…

He said he had been to Purdue on 3 unofficials…was wondering if that was at Mackey or not. I think he will stick to his timeline…

Who else would pique his interest?

He’s got all the top programs already. If I had to wager, I’d say KU is the spot.

Yes, this. He stated he’d never been to a game at Mackey and wants to find a time to see one to see the atmosphere. If that’s true and Purdue is a top contender in late October it might make me wonder a bit about delaying his timeline a little.
I think it's interesting that he's had 3 unofficials but none of them for a game.

Ah yes, you guys are right, my bad!

I can see 2 unofficials…maybe he visited prior to 2023?

6/26/24 - at Zach’s draft party (assume he was there haha)
10/14/23 - home vs Ohio state football (ouch)

Official visit after IU but don’t see it scheduled yet on rivals…however it lists MSU as an official and he didn’t list them. He did say after IU and before UT is when he scheduled Purdue.
