Purdue -6.5

I am hoping for a win IMO NW is legit they got robbed in IOWA and lost a nail biter @ Penn St. could easily have 3 B1G Ten wins. I view them as a tourney team with a legit chance of winning the B1G and the B1G tourney. My top five in the B10 Purdue, MSU. UI, Mich. and NW. Bottom five Wash, Minn, Rutgers, USC, and OSU. One thing that never changes anyone in the B10 can win on any given day.

They have 2 studs in Martinelli & Barnhizer and Leach or Berry always seem to go off on us.

If there is anyway some rich cat can bring the Martinelli kid to West Lafayette next year, that would make fans very happy. 6-7 guy that can score and rebound. Sounds like the prototype for what we need.

I would never bet. But if I did I would stay away from this one.

He will be THE guy at NU next year, so not sure he would leave. But would be great to get someone similar to him

Not sure he isn't THE GUY now. They lose alot though in Barnhizer and Berry.......so might not want to be a scorer on a cellar dweller. Come here win a championship is a great sell to that TYPE of kid. Anyway, like I said ..... prototype for what is needed. So he is the kind CMP should be looking for. I have a list of others though......

what happened that we didn’t get the local kid Barnheiser? Did we recruit him hard out of high school
He played more of the 3-5 spot at Jeff (“undersized” at those spots for college). Wasn’t as guard oriented as he is now and we were full at the time. He didn’t have many high major offers at all.

Moved from down south when his dad became coach at Jeff him and his brother did very well for that program. Wonder if he had gone here, if he would have developed into what he is now though since it would have been a different gameplan/team than what he’s had in his career at NU.

Seems too good to pass up on. I’m expecting a double digit victory today!
I expect Purdue to win...by how many I have no idea. In that win, I'm really interested in Caleb's play. Getting a few boards, running the court and getting around 8 points or so will be welcomed. Also, his D on ball screens "may" help keeping dribble penetration into the lane less frequent. Actually, I see him improving and providing a better inside player as the season goes on and if so ...THAT will be huge in improving Purdue. WE shall see...

He wasn't good enough. He's really developed at NW.

While he did have a nice FR to Sophomore jump.....him not being good enough is really not accurate. He was one of the several finalists for IN Mr. basketball and averaged 32+ and 11R & 6+A. We watched him, but were full with other players we recruited. He was not recruited hard as CMP felt Furst who did win Mr. BB & TKR were better. Had we had multiple...like 4, scholarships that year, he likely would have been a Boiler.... Similar to why Goode is not a Boiler.

Yes. Tough with his dad playing at Purdue for a year. But he was being looked at as a guard and we were full (as you said). I just wonder if he would have had a chance to develop like he has with the personnel that we had.

So little faith!!! I don’t bet on Purdue but I had a good feeling about today’s game.
Man I’m glad I was so wrong. Let’s enjoy it and then get ready for a tough one at Rutgers on Thurs!

Gonna need more smith and TKR scoring. The two lotto picks for Rutgers will be tough to defend !

Too add, Wisky plays at Rutgers tomorrow. Should be a tough game for both teams, and with shorter rest, hopefully that gives Purdue an edge Thursday night.

we win by 4

We had a great defensive game plan....and execution of CMPs plan was excellent.

But NW looked a step slow all day, surely they are not that slow footed and disinterested? They have looked better in recent outings. I am sure the result surprised Vegas.

They don't have the guard speed other top teams do to pressure out front. Any time that is the case, Smith is going to feast like the last few games.
