So? And you gave up 52 to Alabama. Both games had a 28 point marginUmmmm......didn't you give up 59 points against Ohio State?

Yes. You are not them. If you were I’d be worriedUmmmm......didn't you give up 59 points against Ohio State?

OSU is #1 in the nation in scoring offense at 45.5 ppg and total offense at 551 ypg. They held Ohio State below 60.
I'm guessing...you're a basketball school? 'Nuff saidI would imagine a bunch of UT fans have named their kid "Ryan" over the past few years....
So, they might be similar to Mizzou. They held Ohio State below 60.
But they don’t play in the SEC or they’d be 99th in the nation .. duhOSU is #1 in the nation in scoring offense at 45.5 ppg and total offense at 551 ypg.
I guarantee you our defense is better than you thinkIt’s a 50/50 game. Purdue will score a lot, our D is slaw. It comes down to our offense. When it’s in sync it’s beautiful to watch and close to unstoppable unless you have a UGA/Bama level defense.
there's an old saying, "there's nothing more irrelevant than the halftime score". Maybe 2nd in irrelevance is the score in the 4th quarter.it was a 7 pt game in the 4th quarter
Because they play schools like Purdue. You don't give up 59 points to anybody and claim your defense is good.OSU is #1 in the nation in scoring offense at 45.5 ppg and total offense at 551 ypg.
Given the successes we've had in numerous sports, I would not.I'm guessing...you're a basketball school? 'Nuff said
Also, the fact that Chaney had Brees didn't hurt.you forgot to mention Jim Cheyney
And Alabama is 4th in the nation in scoring offense because they play schools like Tennessee with weak defenses.Because they play schools like Purdue. You don't give up 59 points to anybody and claim your defense is good.
Hope you don’t lose with talk like that moronBecause they play schools like Purdue. You don't give up 59 points to anybody and claim your defense is good.
And their best corner is out.. this is gonna be funAnd Alabama is 4th in the nation in scoring offense because they play schools like Tennessee with weak defenses.

Our offense is better than you think.I guarantee you our defense is better than you think![]()
Bama played the best schedule in the country. #1 SOS. Try again. And Alabama is 4th in the nation in scoring offense because they play schools like Tennessee with weak defenses.
Our offense is better than you think.
Dang!!!! That is hilarious! That wins the internet. Let's call it a draw and meet in Nashville on the 30th and drink some beers (or boilermakers)!Here... this might help explain the ongoing joke:

We were driving to tie the game. Stalled out on the 50. Went for it on 4th and got stopped... by the #1 team in the county. And then they proceeded to score quickly. 14 point swing. Game was over at that point.there's an old saying, "there's nothing more irrelevant than the halftime score". Maybe 2nd in irrelevance is the score in the 4th quarter.
I'm guessing this game will be similar to the Pitt - Tenn game.I learned in another thread that our QB is prone to mistakes and tries to get down when he’s running with the ball.
We're not. I don't see us scoring much more than 50.Yes. You are not them. If you were I’d be worried
Possibly, but with an offense that's clicking on all cylinders now.I'm guessing this game will be similar to the Pitt - Tenn game.
no, that one is only about 12 minutes old... 😁there’s also an old saying that the 4th quarter doesn’t start at halftime.
Maybe 55.We're not. I don't see us scoring much more than 50.
Sure … just remember the name karlaftisWe're not. I don't see us scoring much more than 50.
Nah man, most of us are just looking for good conversation. I would be glad to set up a tailgate with Purdue/UT fans on day game. We're pretty harmless unless you insult us.But they don’t play in the SEC or they’d be 99th in the nation .. duh
this board is gonna be unreadable until the 30th
In short, yes, I think Brohm stays. (Much to the chagrin of a vocal minority of "fans".)We were driving to tie the game. Stalled out on the 50. Went for it on 4th and got stopped... by the #1 team in the county. And then they proceeded to score quickly. 14 point swing. Game was over at that point.
As many have noted, we are not a deep team. We had a mass exodus of players to the portal when we let the fraud of a coach go. Now I think we have a great coach. I'd say he still has a lot to prove but I am encouraged by what I saw at the 4 games I attended this year. I think it will be a good game. Long term, do you think Brohm stays?
Wait a minute...Jimmy didn't tell me he was leaving??Long term, do you think Brohm stays?
You guys definitely came on here like people who didn’t want to be insultedNah man, most of us are just looking for good conversation. I would be glad to set up a tailgate with Purdue/UT fans on day game. We're pretty harmless unless you insult us.
So? And you gave up 52 to Alabama. Both games had a 28 point margin
I would say that most Tennessee fans are a bit disappointed.
They were hoping for a higher profile opponent than Purdue.
Maybe someone like Penn St or Clemson or even UNC.
No I think it’s pretty good. I just know every offense we have faced other than Ohio state (because they got the ball out immediately) has had to double and triple karlaftis .. often keeping backs and tight ends home to keep him from wreaking havoc if you have a stroud to Wilson or smith-njigba connection I’d be worried … if you don’t you’ll probably do okay … 35-42ishOur offense is better than you think.
He’s been courted by both Tennessee and Louisville early in his time at Purdue. I’ve been told that he likes the AD, the President, and the BoT at Purdue. He’s in line for a strong extension after this season. He has his best staff since he’s been at Purdue. We were driving to tie the game. Stalled out on the 50. Went for it on 4th and got stopped... by the #1 team in the county. And then they proceeded to score quickly. 14 point swing. Game was over at that point.

Gary Danielson is an affront to SEC fans.We were hoping for a much higher-profile opponent ourselves. Maybe another program that’s won 75 percent of its games against Nick Saban.
We ran him out of the Big Ten with three straight losses. Ever heard of him?
We do recall a team apparently sponsored by Creamsicles. We licked them in the Astrodome. Purdue took a 21-0 lead, took a long nap, then rallied behind Mark Herrmann to win 27-22. Living in the past? I was living on the field for that one.
As for national profile, Purdue quarterbacks in the National Football League have more passing yards, more touchdown passes and more wins than any other school in NFL history. Len Dawson, Bob Griese, Mike Phipps, Gary Danielson, Mark Herrmann, Jim Everett, Scott Campbell, Kyle Orton, Drew Brees, for example. Three won Super Bowls, a feat matched only by Alabama.
We have heard that Tennessee, just after stealing the Oilers from Houston, once imported a Manning, too. Cooper, I believe.
If you’re good sometime, maybe our Gary Danielson will cover one of your games.
Auburn was 3-5 in the SEC that year. Just sayin'One things for sure, this won’t be like the last time we played in this bowl. Purdue is much better than they were then and Tennessee is not as good as the Auburn team we played
