I'm sure each school that makes it into the dance is compensated financially to some degree and I would assume that would have to be equal across the board. Correct? Is there any additional money paid to the schools per game? Does a sweet 16 game pay more than a round of 64 game?

I know most coaches have performance benefits in their contracts. So I can only assume that has something to do with post season payouts.

Just curious.

The NCAA distributes money to conferences based on the success over a 6 year rolling period. Each tournament game played by a member of a conference receives a payout. So if each game is worth $100,000 and the Big Ten plays 12 tournament games over 6 years, that's $1.2 million to the Big Ten to split amongst its members.
