IU does it again

They replaced Virginia with kennesas st.

Thinking about it, more iu fans will probably go to the game to see IU play Kennesaw st.

I know you diehard Purdue fans hate the idea of playing weaker opponents.

But casual fans like myself love going to a game to see my favorite team blowing out the opponent.

Ask the guy or girl down the street. Would they rather see a 55-7 blowouts? Or a 16-14 game? I want to watch the blow out every time. It gives guy like RUDY a chance to play

They’re an awful program. They have to do whatever they can to manufacture wins. And guess what? I wish we would do the same. Had they kept Louisville on the schedule and lost, they would’ve missed the playoffs. As a kid I watched us beat notre dame at ross ade in person during the Brees years, and I still wish we would take them off the schedule. Probably going to be another 60-0 beat down this year.

I can understand people loving to see Purdue pull off a victory over a top ranked team.

I was there in the 70’s when Purdue shocked the world beating Michigan 16-14 or 14-13 or whatever.

But the truth is, while upsetting Michigan shocked the world beating, it was a very boring game.

If rather see Purdue blowing somebody out with 85 yard td runs and 55 yard Hail Mary passes. And kick off returns for tds and interceptions run back for 6z.

Blowouts are fun! And the tailgating afterwards is fun.

Winning 16-14 is boring

Much rather see a close game than a blowout. Blowout's serve no purpose for the team or the fans. And if Rudy ain't good enough to crack the line up, he doesn't deserve time on field.

I guess I’m more of a fan of the game of football than I am of the Purdue boilermakers!

One the most exciting games I ever watched was when Joe Montana as a third string qb, came into the game and led Notre dame to victory!

I love watching and cheering on a running back making a long run. He could go all the way. I don’t really care whose team he’s on.

I loved watching oj Simpson and Barry sanders and Walter Payton doing their thing.

I cheered for mark herman, Brady and manning and didn’t care what team they played for.

I loved all those UW running backs going all the way back to Billy marek and Rufus road runner Ferguson or Williams or whatever his name was.

I wasn’t born or raised in Indiana so I didn’t grow up with a hatred towards IU. Growing up all I really knew about IU was they had a great swim team, an awesome soccer team And Bobby kight.

Purdue had Rick Mount but my favorite college basketball player was Lew AlCinder.

I don’t consider myself a diehard Purdue fan who craves for that hard fought 16-14 score average some tough team.

I like to see an exciting game.

I watched the Ice Bowl. But the only thing I remember was the final Packers Td. The rest of the game was a boring blur.

So give me some excitement!

It’s odd how flip floppy Purdue fans here are. When I post how Purdue should Be more like Iowa and just be a boring team that wins low scoring games and finishes with 8-4 seasons, you all hate my suggestion and say , that’s not Purdue football. We are the cradle of QBs. We need to sit it out and score a lot of points. And then when I say, we need to play an easy schedule so we can air it out and score a lot of points, you say, no we need to play tougher opponents and win low scoring boring games.

So make up your minds! Do you like blowouts? Or low scoring games? It’s rather clear what IU wants. They are doing the same thing Alabama and OSU do scheduling cream puff non conference games.

I have to ask, when was the last time Purdue football was ranked in the top 20 and went to a significant bowl games? I realize you hate IU. But they were smart and accomplished both last year!

Casual fans love blow outs! And so do bars and pizza restaurants!

Wrong. I drove down from Downers Grove and saw us beat Michigan 16-14. It was exciting and fun!

One last time before the site is gone. Wolekaren, you have never been a fan of Purdue. I give you credit for keeping up the charade for so many years all while most of us figured you out a long time ago but the reality is you have never nor ever will be a fan of the Boilers.. Heller (RIP) among others busted you a LONG time ago for your many lies you have spewed on here with being a Purdue fan one of your biggest.

You're a self-entitled crybaby POS and the one silver lining to this site shutting down, is we most likely won't have to hear from you again and can actually enjoy conversations like we all used to do before you came along.

I will end with this as truly my last post to you, I hope you figure out your mental issues and your life comes around. I wish you well going forward and hope wherever you end up, you reflect on things and come out better for it.

Wrong. I drove down from Downers Grove and saw us beat Michigan 16-14. It was exciting and fun!
My favorite Purdue game was the 1967 Rose Bowl, a thrilling 14-13 victory where the winning pass deflection on the two-point conversion failed right in front of me.

Sports should be competitive with both parties trying to eke out a close victory, with the one that has the most grit triumphing. All of my fondest memories of personal sports are these, in a close match winning because I had more grit than the opponent, and win or lose in these contests, they were the best, each of us wanting to win and giving our all. I always remember watching an Olympic Marathon qualifying event and telling my ex-wife that the nobody in second that clung to the heavily favored favorite was going to win when the announcers all pooh-poohed the idea. And I was right, as I knew that he would rather die trying before losing!

I don't really like seeing a team wallop another one, and picking them as opponents to deliberately do so. Why not schedule a crippled handicapped grade school team perhaps with some blind players. It's sick just to get wins. The idea of athletics is competition, not winning by any devious means or stacking the contest in your favor before it even begins.

Yup! You are so typical of the people who ost here! If you disagree with someone’s opinion, all you do is name call, and berate and throw hate at the person. And then you question the person’s mental state. You call the person a lier! You sir are the person with anger issues! I’ve been truthful. I said what I like. I said I’m a geek and never have been a jock! I’ve said I had little knowledge of the game.

I’m not like you and never was! But it is you who can’t handle it, not me. It is you who can’t accept me because I don’t fit your template!

I didn’t realize a person had to be a homer or die hard Purdue fan to be able to post here! And people like you ensure that others who were not jocks like yourself never felt comfortable posting here.

You call people names. You call them trolls and you just expect them to go away. And you just expect them to never fight back. You want them to be obedient to you and your ideas! I’m sorry I stood up to you and ruined your day!

How many times have you questioned my public health publicly? You know zip about depression, adhd, ptsd, autism or anything . Yet you consider yourself an expert on those areas as well.

My point and purpose for posting on this board was a very simple one. I’ve stated multiple times I have very little knowledge of the game. However in knowing so little, I still know as much as people like you who claim to know everything. Unlike you, I use my brain. I speculate and form conclusions! I analyze things from both sides rather than just one.

You hate on IU. Why? It’s a decent university. My wife graduated from their Optometry school. Bloomington is an ok town. They have a nice pizza restaurant.

IU has a different philosophy than you. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. IU had a pud non conference schedule last year. So did OSU and Alabama. Who cares what their schedule was besides you? They won the games they played. The people who are objective and not homers filled with hate thought they were good enough to be selected one of the playoffs teams over several other deserving teams. So their philosophy worked. And they are doing it again! You personally don’t like IU having a pud non conference schedule last year. Why? Because you hate IU and don’t want to see them win? Because you believe Purdue is always better than IU and you don’t want them to have a better record? YOU sound like sour grapes!

You call me a lier! That’s slander, but you feel at ease hiding behind your anonymous internet name. I have been wrong many times and have admitted it. Being wrong is not lying. If I were rich, I would hire an IU lawyer and find out your true identity and sue you for all of the hatred you have posted about me.

And the thing is, You say the same things towards others you disagree with.

My son is an assistant track coach at OSU. Yet you get upset when I mention that. Why??? Are you jeolous? I’m proud of my son. He’s been a coach for 5 years after a successful and injury filled college career. Don’t you have any family to be proud of? You never talk about your family or their accomplishments.

My wife and I are retired military. I was also a teacher. My Purdue degree was a dual major in elementary and secondary math education. I hold other degrees in finance, management and information systems.

Yet you call me names and belittle me. Why? I’ve been called names all my life by people like you. I guess it makes you feel big, strokes your ego or something. You are not better than me. I never said I was better than you.

You called me a Karen. The truth is I’m that woke liberal that Karen complains about! You are the person who is Karen’s husband!

Will I see you at the upcoming vacation Bible school? In our church choir? At our Cub Scout pack meeting? Walking in the Memorial Day parade? At our lions club community project? At our Eagle Scout ceremony? Boy Scout summer camp? School library volunteer? How about joining me for an MS telethon? Or maybe assisting me and my brother coaching a special Olympics team? Or will you be too busy to help?

Rather you are the type that says. Here, have $5, and don’t bother me. I gotta go to the gym! Flex my muscles, drink my beer! Go to the game. POTFH!!!!! Everybody that doesn’t like Purdue sucks! Them illegal aliens are taking my job and my money ! Play me some Lee greenwood!

I’m sorry I don’t fit into either your mold or your society. I’m sorry my mental state isn’t the same as yours. At age 3, I was diagnosed as being mentally retarded! My entire family suffers from dyslexia. I have a reading learning disability . I was always the last person picked for every sport I ever played! My talents were never athletic!

On the other hand, I sang the national anthem to open a prominent college basketball tournament in Atlanta. I’ve shaken hands with NASA astronauts. I’ve told stories to preschoolers. I’ve authored college papers and presentations at national forums! I’ve defended national defense programs to be approved and included in our U.S. budget. I’ve spent billions of your tax payer money and also saved $ billions.

You question my mental state and mental health. I have a different opinion. I’m ok with myself. I believe I’ve done pretty well for a person diagnosed with being mentally retarded.

As for the name calling, my son is also used to it as well. He’s heard the name calling all his life from people like SI boiler who booed him every time he missed a shot and his team lost! I also heard so boiler booing my son! If I was like you, I would have punched so boiler out for all the hatred he gave my son. Instead, I welcomed so boiler to my home and to my church. He never accepted my offer. His loss, not mine.

So I say so long and buh bye from all the casual fans and geeks to you diehard sports fans And jocks. The world doesn’t revolve around you. Who am I? I’m nobody. I’m just that poor slob who was on the other side of the counter serving you, picking up your cigarette butts, serving you beer at the concession stands and doing all those things that were beneath you and that you had no time to help. I’m the guy who raised that flag and taught your children. I did it for free!

So have a good day and go to your pay site and continue to belittle and berate others who disagree with you. I’ll go back to my think tank to share ideas and look for solutions to make a difference in this world!

There is more to life than Boilermaker football.

Nice of Peegs to get their own schedule wrong for the article.

"...home games against Kennesaw State, Indiana State and UMass in the upcoming 2025 season."

Paying to weaken their schedule,

I hope the sports media call out Cignetti the next time he starts whining about Michigan or Notre Dame during a presser. He seemed to do that many times last year.

Will IU still be using that "undaunted" talk when they are avoiding teams that can beat them?
