He had to do this - free adviceTesting the waters but I doubt he will get info that causes him to stay in the draft.
I also expect Shannon and Hawkins back at Illinois.
Anything can happen, though.
He still has room for improvement. If nothing else, he can get more consistent and continue to improve his passing. He’s still pretty new to the game. The only way he comes back is if he plans on working on a 8-10 foot jump shot or perhaps a Jabbar sky hook. How would you improve on winning every award available?
True. I'm expecting Kofi to be back at Illinois.Testing the waters but I doubt he will get info that causes him to stay in the draft.

NIL money would be the reason, you’re correct, he’s likely not improving draft position. The only way he comes back is if he plans on working on a 8-10 foot jump shot or perhaps a Jabbar sky hook. How would you improve on winning every award available?
Surprised he didn't declare earlier. He had to do this - free advice
Because winning every award doesn't always translate to the NBA. An 8-10 foot jump shot would serve him very well at the next level. I think he returns. The only way he comes back is if he plans on working on a 8-10 foot jump shot or perhaps a Jabbar sky hook. How would you improve on winning every award available?

the leap he took between last year and this was phenomenal. Can he do it again with other facets of his game?I wish him the very best, whatever he decides. I remember watching Zach those first few games as a freshman. I thought he had the potential to be good. I had no idea he'd become consensus player-of-the-year good.
Omoruyi at RU is doing the sameHe had to do this - free advice
I think it’s 50/50, maybe 55/45 he returns, going to be about money, if he’s paid enough he likely returns, hoping we see him back, however, if not that’s ok as well. Whatever is best for Zach is best for me, kid deserves whatever is in store for him.It likely will be Europe or Purdue as his choices for next year and he can do Europe anytime. As for getting more NBA ready, he can develop a beautiful 10-12 foot shot facing the basket, but unless Painter lets him showcase it in games, it won’t help him with the NBA. Painter won’t promise him this either. But he works hard, so he may get good enough to earn Matt’s trust in these shots. Guarding mobile NBA bigs who can step out and hit threes is another issue.
I think he stays
Time for Purdue NIL , to step up biggley.....show him the $$$$if he is not projected to be drafted this year, then next year will be the same case. his situation is a great reason for NIL. he deserves to get compensated for what he has accomplished. hard to see how any NBA team could use him with the way the game is played. I just hope he stays at Purdue and doesn't test the NCAA free agency waters. Dickinson from Michigan is coming down to a bidding war and I think that's bad for college basketball. Edey could definitely exploit that if he chooses.
don't care what you think.* as long as our 1st round opponent isn't too tiny.
I want Purdue back in the Final Fourdon't care what you think.
obviously, you do since you respondeddon't care what you think.
Telling comment, "How much more can this body take". I noted towards the end of the season he went down a few more times than normal, and was a little slower getting up. I feel for the guy, when you're that big you make a notable "Thud" when you fall, and things with your body start to get problematic. He still has room for improvement. If nothing else, he can get more consistent and continue to improve his passing. He’s still pretty new to the game.
the college game is not the NBA ... proven over and overThe only way he comes back is if he plans on working on a 8-10 foot jump shot or perhaps a Jabbar sky hook. How would you improve on winning every award available?
Annnnnd ... you're blocked after your 18th post. Perhaps a new record. How much can Purdue offer him to return, and is it more than some of the bigger programs like Creighton and Texas Southern?
how do you expect it to go, if he listens to advice, he will go back to Purdue and get all the nil he can, simply doesn't have the shill set for the modern NBA, you think teams are going to play 4 on 5 on defense. he was born 20 years to late, who does Roy Hibbert play for now?He got the invite to the combine. Curious how it goes.
Feel like deadline to withdraw is coming up soon.
Wish him the very best. If he hears good news then go. If he comes back, I hope Painter diversifies the offense enough to get him away from the basket a little more. Zach will also have to defend the perimeter better, IMO. We'll see. Like I said, wish him the very best.He got the invite to the combine. Curious how it goes.

Someone brought up Anthony Davis and his ability to switch on Steph and shut him down last night. I like Edey, but isn’t that type of guy.how do you expect it to go, if he listens to advice, he will go back to Purdue and get all the nil he can, simply doesn't have the shill set for the modern NBA, you think teams are going to play 4 on 5 on defense. he was born 20 years to late, who does Roy Hibbert play for now?
will be interesting. has he ever taken a shot outside of 5 feet? TJD has a similar problem, but he at least has NBA athleticism.Someone brought up Anthony Davis and his ability to switch on Steph and shut him down last night. I like Edey, but isn’t that type of guy.
Then again, lot of NBA execs have made a lot of money drafting guys who were a total bust so who knows.
Let me ask you and without looking it up. Could you tell me what any former IU player in the NBA is averaging? This may sound greedy, but I only care what he averages here at Purdue and we know he dominates opponents.will be interesting. has he ever taken a shot outside of 5 feet? could get real close, he's a great college player totally agree with you.Let me ask you and without looking it up. Could you tell me what any former IU player in the NBA is averaging? This may sound greedy, but I only care what he averages here at Purdue and we know he dominates opponents.

both Edey and Dickinson have zero real marketing value beyond Lawarence and west Lafayette. if Dickenson got 2 million it's from a booster saying it's for NIL which legally you can do nowThe big nil money comes from private investors not from universities or university alliance and booster groups. Maybe Edey can pick up a couple of endorsement deals while at the combine. I’m quite certain there will be many people with lots of money to give away that will be attending the combine wanting to give their money to someone! Edey could come back to Purdue with some free advice and a few contracts in his pocket, maybe even a couple of national commercials. Maybe he could replace Doug of Liberty Mutual! It could be Emu and Edey! Or he could hold the Geico Gecco in his hand! If Dickinson can bring in 2 million to go to Kansas, surely Edey could bring in some change from some body. It’s true he has nothing really to prove coming back to Purdue other than a possible final 4. But I have to believe he should be able to find an agency outside of Purdue that could legally bring some money his way! The only downside I see is even if Edey returns and Purdue does make it to the final 4, I don’t see Edey’s draft stock really improving very much over this year. I don’t see a final 4 appearance making Edey a lottery pick.
Zeller has been a critical piece for Miami. Believe he is averaging 7.Let me ask you and without looking it up. Could you tell me what any former IU player in the NBA is averaging? This may sound greedy, but I only care what he averages here at Purdue and we know he dominates opponents.
he's been a journeyman NBA player made a ton of money though. looked like his career was over found a great role in Miami and is making the best of itZeller has been a critical piece for Miami. Believe he is averaging 7.
