I would expect Edey back…

I'll be honest. I was hoping for the IU fan to answer that not a damn Purdue fan...damn it, Choice. Regardless to me the 10th man on the roster isn't critical. IMO
Haha touché. I don’t watch the NBA except for the playoffs and noticed his name. Thought he had retired or was in Europe to be honest.

how do you expect it to go, if he listens to advice, he will go back to Purdue and get all the nil he can, simply doesn't have the shill set for the modern NBA, you think teams are going to play 4 on 5 on defense. he was born 20 years to late, who does Roy Hibbert play for now?

how so Hibbert was a valued post player years ago as the game shifted to a perimeter game, he was out of the league. you think Edey is better than big Roy? if so, you don't know basketball. could Edey score in the NBA if you ran offense to get him the ball down low? probably, does anyone play that way? no. Can Edey guard anyone in the NBA? no.

Yes, some of the large bigs in the NBA can shoot from deep, but I've never really seen Embiid or Jokic' take anyone off the dribble. I'm not comparing him to these guys, but I'm not sure your statement is true. I think he could guard any of those guys and shooting over a 7' 4" hand in the face could be difficult. They seem to muscle most of their opponents and he wouldn't get muscled around. IMO

Jokic brings the ball up the court. guys a 7 ft playmaker hard to compare anyone to him. him and Embiid can both take or back people down off the dribble and have range to the 3-point line. yes, as a rim protector Edey would have some value but what is he going to do when a big pull him away from the basket? I just don't think he has the athleticism to guard anyone on the perimeter. there is a reason he is not listed on any mock draft boards. Edit I just looked on NBA draft net they have him going in the 2nd round. so maybe he has been impressive in workouts and teams think he can be an asset.

Not seeing some of the arguments (what else is new....haha....... :) ). I think Jokic just broke the tie with Chamberlain last night for most play-off triple doubles from a center. Embiid has mid-range depth (and fall-away jumper can be a dagger). They also can defend in more ways than Zach Edey, IMO. The Zachen has some unique skills and endurance capability, but I agree with most in that he's much more suited for the old school 60s-80s game, which is long gone. However, there is an intriguing component in that he has not played organized ball for very long, and he has come quite a ways already......is there an even higher ceiling? An organization might take that shot, but I can't see it in the 1st round.

Candidly.....still think it's a coin flip if he returns to Purdue. A possible Big 16 reaction if he does......

Time will tell. Zach was put in a ton of bad defensive decisions last year because we lacked defense on the perimeter. I personally think it's different in the NBA as the flow is different. People tend to get beat all the time with minimal help side.

Plus bringing the ball up and beating someone off the dribble are two completely different things. He's good and yes, he can shoot from deep. I have honestly never seem him beat anyone off the dribble....back down in the paint....yes!

he's not going to blow by anyone if that's what you mean. can you see Edey getting the ball at the top of the key and taking 3 or 4 dribbles to back his man down?

No, but I can easily see him getting into position and playing defense at a decent clip. I couldn't or don't see TJD doing it as an undersized big, who can't shoot or doesn't have a post up move and he ain't dribbling in the NBA. Personally, I see the value in Zach vs TJD at playing the same position.

It is a wise person who refrains from commenting on things he admits to not reading! It is the fool who makes comments about posts he never opens! Those who block and ignore others should not speculate on what was said or the content of their post! Ha ha ha ha

The only way he comes back is if he plans on working on a 8-10 foot jump shot or perhaps a Jabbar sky hook. How would you improve on winning every award available?
He's going to make over a million $ if he comes back in NIL, get a degree & get to play. Will make similar money sitting on the bench & not playing in the NBA or worse yet, playing in the G League. Only makes sense to come back unless someone is going to take him 1st round...
