and to no surprise to all unaffected by TDS!Trump has accomplished more in 3 weeks, while not being POTUS as Harris/Biden did in 4 years.
I’m sure you mean good things as accomplishments , while the Biden/Harris did hurtful things to the country.Trump has accomplished more in 3 weeks, while not being POTUS as Harris/Biden did in 4 years.

Like what lol?Trump has accomplished more in 3 weeks, while not being POTUS as Harris/Biden did in 4 years.
Do the Trumpty.I’m sure you mean good things as accomplishments , while the Biden/Harris did hurtful things to the country.
He's issued a dead serious ultimatum to Hamas and the Palestinians. You can bet (unlike Biden) that if they don't comply, there will be hell to pay.Like what lol?
It's more about companies not having an advantage in a foreign country and bringing jobs back to the US.Why would Canada and Mexico be scared of the tariffs when they don’t have the burden to pay the tariffs?
Chump set these tariffs the last time and they did not work. Being from the steel capital of North America I was initially for them. Our democratic congressman lIt's more about companies not having an advantage in a foreign country and bringing jobs back to the US.
And yes they are scared.

was for this. Turned out to be a horrible idea. Caused a trade war with China. Those tariffs did not bring back any jobs either.
Then why did Biden leave then intact?Chump set these tariffs the last time and they did not work. Being from the steel capital of North America I was initially for them. Our democratic congressman l

Perhaps he picked and chose the tariffs that he thought worked. Got rid of the ones he thought didn’t work. Tariffs sound good on paper but aren’t the best option. If the tariffs didn't work....why did Biden leave several of them in place??? And even increase some of them?? So uniformed......but like I say at least you are entertaining.
LOL
What is a better option?Perhaps he picked and chose the tariffs that he thought worked. Got rid of the ones he thought didn’t work. Tariffs sound good on paper but aren’t the best option.
How did that turn out for him lolPerhaps he picked and chose the tariffs that he thought worked. Got rid of the ones he thought didn’t work. Tariffs sound good on paper but aren’t the best option.

so does it follow that if product becomes more expensive since we buy from the USA which costs more, that potentially there is an increase in tax revenue as a result, which in turns says we can reduce the ordinary income taxes and maintain the tax revenue. Course government can continue to spend in excess, tax more than needed (gotta also give out money to countries that hate us) and then buy product outside the USA and "develop" their technology for manufacturing which ultimately makes the USA less secure.Your wrong
It depends which workers we’re talking about. Workers who produce the specific goods covered by tariffs typically benefit from the protection. While it is difficult to pin down exact numbers, the tariffs on steel products appear to have helped create several thousand jobs in the steel industry; similarly, tariffs on washing machines are associated with approximately 1,800 new jobs at Whirlpool, Samsung, and LG factories in the US. In these specific industries, then, tariffs have probably been good for workers.
tariffs force us consumers to pay more for goods because those goods are sourced from either America or another nation other than China. When it comes to steel and semiconductors, sourcing those products from geopolitical country aligned with the US assures that production won’t be halted if/when we go to war OR any time the country wants to stop production to hurt the US (think China and it stopping semiconductor shipments if/when it attacks Taiwan where basically a majority of our chips come from)
What tariffs are designed to do is to move manufacturing from a cheap geopolitical adversarial country (aka China who uses child and slave labor…hmm that sounds like a great ideal to source goods from that country to save money) and move it either to the US or another geopolitical country aligned with the US.
Did Trump’s tariffs benefit American workers and national security?

Think of beer. If tariffs were placed on German beer, it would reduce raise the price of German beer (so those who buy beer from Germany pay more). But in establishing the tariffs, more beer production moves to the US, then the us beer workers benefit through increased manufacturing output (which the site above says has happened). It can also cause a shift in manufacturing to Canada or even the Netherlands or Australia to increase imports from those countries.
The one key impact is that it likely reduces consumption from China and hurts the China economy. Same would go for Canada and Mexico if tariffs were implemented there. Car manufacturers would have to move those jobs back to the US to avoid tariffs.

Dude, the article clearly states that jobs were brought back to the US in specific industries, read the paragraph I highlighted in bold. Translate how that does not say we did not add jobs. Now we may have lost other jobs in other manufacturing sectors, but we increased jobs in those specific sectors.Dude, your article says that I’m right.
The 5 steel making facilities near where I live did not hire additional workers to their work force due to the steel tariffs. One of those actually shut down the only 2 iron producing blast furnaces that they had. Any hiring was done was to replace the aging workers that retired. I think the steel tariffs Bush the Younger did in the 2000s helped a bit as they were not as aggressive as Chump’s. Plus I do not recall a trade war with China back then.
Cripe, it is already working. The mere threat of a 25% tariff on Mexico has their president scared sh1tless. She has already cracked down on drug trafficking and migrants headed to the US. And this article is from the far-left LA Times. Why would Canada and Mexico be scared of the tariffs when they don’t have the burden to pay the tariffs?
I know all steel is not produced in NW Indiana but we still manufacture more steel than any other region in North America. Just because you didn’t see jobs added in Gary doesn’t mean we didn’t add jobs as a nation. There are 49 other states where those jobs could’ve been added. I trust Brookings much more than I trust BNIBoiler’s economic review.

President Obama added thousands of jobs in the US way before Chump’s tariffs. He saved the auto industry which in turn saved the US steel industry.
If the tariff article that you posted was supposed to prove your point that tariffs are good, you failed miserably. The article clearly states the following.
I do remember that Chump's tariffs specifically hurt the US farm industry, particularly corn and soybeans.
- American firms and consumers paid the vast majority of the cost of Trump’s tariffs.
- While tariffs benefited some workers in import-competing industries, they hurt workers in sectors that rely on imported inputs and those in exporting industries facing retaliation from trade partners.
- Trump’s tariffs did not help the U.S. negotiate better trade agreements or significantly improve national security
Trump isn't imposing the tariffs for more US jobs, revenue nor diplomatic reasons. He is b1tch-slapping, punch-mouthing and arse-kicking the Mexicans to stop the flow of illegals and to stop the drug trafficking. That is the only form of communication that these greaseballs understand.I never said that tariffs are good for all Americans, but it is good for specific industries. YOU said that tariffs didn’t bring back any jobs in the steel industry, which the tariffs did, and the article CLEARLY states that.

The author of that article does not live near 5 steel manufacturing plants like do. I’ve worked in and around all five of these plants for over 30 years. I’m telling you any hiring being done is to replace workers that have retired. These 5 plants on Lake Michigan are not expanding as such to require additional workers. Matter of fact one of these plants in East Chicago have lost workers due to closing 2 iron producing blast furnaces. The 84” hot strip mill closed years ago.
Similarly with US Steel in Pittsburgh. US Steel Gary, IN is the flagship plant. Any potential expansion will go there. The Pittsburgh plant ain’t expanding to hire additional workers. These mills will upgrade existing facilities utilizing the current workforce.

Maobama did not save the auto industry. Oldsmobile, Pontiac both lost at GM at the directive of Mao. With Ford, with Daimler/Chrysler they all lost jobs. Maobama was not an icon of saving jobs, but of selective elimination of jobs. How did black folk do under Mao vs. under President Donald J. Trump? Free marketeers and free traders who like to stand on principle will never be convinced that the U.S. Treasury’s bailout of the U.S. auto industry was sound fiscal policy. The Obama auto bailout actually saved US jobs.
Blacks did quite well under Obama. A lot of blacks work at the aforementioned auto manufacturing plants that Obama saved. Many blacks also worked at GM, for example, which shuttered Hummer, Pontiac, Saturn and Saab along with Oldsmobile. I was an engineer with GM at that time and saw unemployment increase at these plants to nothing.

Yeah, this has been going on for a couple of years now. US based steel company Cleveland Cliffs has 3 steel mills along here on Lake Michigan near Gary, IN US Steel. US Steel rejected Cliffs’ offer to buy. US Steel accepted Nippon’s offer. It was agreed that US Steel would keep its iconic name.New YorkCNN —
US Steel shareholders overwhelmingly approved a deal for the iconic American manufacturer to be purchased by Japan’s Nippon Steel. But the outlook for the controversial merger has never looked so bad.
The deal is significant, not just for the future of what is still a key US industry central to building everything from cars to appliances to roads and bridges, it is also at the center of election year politics and relations between the United States and Japan, a major ally.
There was no resistance from Biden to this takeover.
