Former commit "going through it right now"

I always believe athletes hit the books or find courses and right professors to maintain the minimum GPA. Or they take enough online courses to stay eligible. I once tutored a few athletes at Auburn. None of them were ever declared academically ineligible. That might be where I acquired my sour taste towards athletes always wanting others to do their work for them and had zero interest in academics.

I have to believe he will be leaving BYU after this year. I doubt he comes back to Purdue. But you never know

As I think of him , I wonder what % of top 25 prospects become total busts? Is it 80%? Higher? I recall that top 10 guard that went to IU. He was lousy at IU, was still drafted in the NBa and was lousy there too. Not sure what happened to him and I don’t really care. I hope he saved some of his money.

Is Catchings still considered a second round pick?

3/5 from 3 in 17 mins in a blowout win over cinci at home. I checked with 11 min to go in the game and he was only at 9 min and 3pts. Hasn’t started for quite some time.

Wonder how he’s feeling about his role and what school he will play at next year. Maybe he will come back to Purdue 😏 😂

Painter wants guys who buy in to the system and really want to play here. In the end he didn’t fit the criteria. Great player in HS but if you have one guy who isn’t all in on the work ethic required - and who thinks playing time is guaranteed - he’s not gonna fit in this system and he’s gonna be a disruption.
Sorry I thought the 😏 and 😂 indicated I was joking/being sarcastic

at sometime you want to believe that someone will get his ear and reason with him where he is and where he could be with the understanding of what must transpire for him to get where he wants to get.
I can’t imagine that hasn’t already happened with the family he comes from. He just hasn’t chosen to take the advice. But lots of teenagers know everything.

very true, but you would think at this time the obvious months ago was true, and that now, unlike months ago, he would reflect.

I bet he just enters the draft. I think he has always planned to be one and done and I see no reason to believe he may change his mind.

Saw some red flags when he went to play in Overtime ME-lite and reportedly had some issues there. But he made it to campus and thought maybe I had read the situation wrong.....for about a day.

Such a shame. I remember reading somewhere that throughout the time everyone was freaking out about his potential decommitment (the first time) that his family was basically pro-Painter and pro-Purdue but he had other people involved pulling some strings too.

I had a vision of him becoming the player we all hoped Aaron Wheeler would become and he might've had a chance to be great here. We will never know though.
