David Bell WR

He isn’t going to IU lol. Don’t think we need to worry about UT either. If it’s not Purdue, it’ll prob be OSU or PSU.

How do you know (for certain - lol) he isn't going to IU? Or do you just think he isn't going to IU like I do?

IU is selling Bell on possibility of playing football and basketball-at least his frosh year. Not sure what the attraction could be at Iowa for an elite WR, though? Iowa seems to be famous for serving the most food items throughout the state than can be consumed off of a stick. And....that does not even include what they sell at the state fair.

There couldn't be a worse choice for him than Iowa.

I’m not 100% of course but I was on a recruiting chat with a guy at 24/7 who’s tied into Midwest recruiting who thinks Purdue is the team to beat for Bell and if it’s not them it’ll likely be OSU or PSU. He also said it’d be tough sledding for IU when it came to in-state recruiting moving forward.

It has always been "tough sledding" for IU with in-state recruits. So it just may be, will be, tougher.

I’m sure there are worse choices than Iowa but from the pool he’s interested in, Iowa has no chance. They simply do not throw the ball enough and when they do it doesn’t often go to a WR.

Yeah, fine school but if you want to catch 25-30 balls a year as the primary WR....go for it.

Hopefully, as that bodes well for Purdue
Definitely a valid hope. But I truly think it has to. The Brohm Brothers & Staff have proven their offensive prowess here and while at WKU. It seems to have already lured some serious offensive weapons in Jack Plummer, Ahmad Anderson, Kory Taylor & Rondale Moore. But that competition currently pales in comparison to the likes of O$U. Additionally one can assume that CJB is leveraging the proximity to home. All good stuff going on in this program though. I haven’t wanted to engage so much in Purdue Football discussion for years. It is quite fun again!

Agree with you. Last year was such a breath of fresh air. It is really fun to see the program improving again. Very exciting times.

Some stuff with David Bell and Karlaftis. I would definitely listen to the parts where they talk about us. Come back and tell us how you feel about the stuff you heard. I feel good with Bell and George but there is a little something in me now after they talked about George... and I’m a little worried.

Why are you worried?

It played for a couple minutes then froze up. What does it say?
I’ll give you a quick run down. When Wiltfong made bisnourdue prediction for Bell he made it because his David Bell contact said Ourdue was in the drivers seat but he won’t make a decision until after the season. Bryce Kurtz and Craig Young are players to keep an eye on as we have a good shot there bt if Toung does a good job at Ohio States camp he will be a Buckeye. He thinks George is taking visits just in case something happens here at Purdue so he wants a plan B. George is intrigued with Michigan... when George took the Michigan visit during spring break he said George said it was the best visit he’s ever had. That’s the part that gets me a little worried. I still think he will end up a Boiler but... we all know how that scumbag up north is

I don’t blame the kid for wanting a plan b. But I will blame the kid if he flips as he would Immediately go from a bit of a savior to villain in less than a second. I still think he ends up at Purdue, but I sure have that feeling from high school that my girl is cheating on me. Lol!

Anyone remember Chris Daniels/Drew Brees combo with 20 receptions in one game? I would love to see a primary receiver get a dozen or more receptions in a game.
Actually it was 21 catches against MSU-he kept stepping out of bounds and stopping clock for some reason?-longest contest I ever saw-big PU blowout win at Ross-Ade

21 catches for 305 and 3tds is what his statline was I think. Wasn't MSU, SABAN coached at the time, a top5/10 team and we just smoked em like 52-17?

He has always struggled defending the spread
