But if athletes are engaged, in particular, with ANSWERING questions by the media with political overtones, then their right to respond shouldn't ordinarily require mandated censorship.
that makes no sense. Whether a reporter asks ("engages") or not, athletes/entertainers should know when to keep their mouth shut.
Some things are just common sense, and being asked/engaged doesn't mean you disengage your brain. When asked, "honey, does this dress make my butt look big?"... there's nothing stupid like censorship there, there's just an ability to use your friggin' brain... or not. Your choice.
