Congrats guys

Sorry to poke but Tiller’s success is directly related to him not having the funds needed to retain his assistants or be able to go out and hire known commodities.

That's one of the great things about boards like this, we can disagree and still be friends. IMO, the Big Ten caught up with Joe's offense and there was a downturn in recruiting (a downturn that continued in DH1).

Tiller's accomplishments were phenomenal in his first year at Purdue, with 2 and 3 star recruits. After Toledo, we all were saying, "here we go again."

But, you have to remember, Joe brought in the West coast offense, which took the Big Ten 2-3 years to figure out. So, his success was sort of lucky, in that he caught the league's teams by surprise.

Yeah . . . I was at that Toledo game. We just executed poorly. VERY poorly.

I was also at the ND game the following week.

We executed VERY well.

I was also at the IU game to close out the regular season. They were dumbfounded. IU couldn't find their @ss with both hands. We DESTROYED them.

Tiller's offense wasn't the west coast offense. It was different. It was a spread offense.

Sam Wyche tried the WC offense with IU in 1983, and failed miserably, but succeeded quite well with the Bengals.

My sister-in-law was a trainer on that team. She said that instead of coming into the locker room and screaming (like Colletto had done for years), Tiller came in and talked in subdued tones,

"Well we have a lot of things to work on, but we'll get them figured out, if you guys will buckle down and play hard."

She said that the atmosphere was positive and encouraging.

Of course, you and I were panicking, because we saw who was up next!

Yawn... sorry I questioned your and everyone else’s preseason image of Sparks, while also saying I don’t think he can’t be that.
Nice change of subject. I don't give two farts about your opinion of Sparks. I was talking about the way you treated the guy from Nebraska. So was Clean face.

I’m moved? You know who has real problems.. anyone who thinks any of this matters.

I ended the exchange with Pennsy by telling him that he was a nice guy and clarifying that my opinions were of elitists in his fan base. I don’t know why so many people here have this like half fandom for Nebraska. A couple months ago half this board was acting like Nebraska might be 8-4 and gushing about how nice their fans are. Barf

So, if it doesn't matter why did you spend so many posts being an ass to the Nebraska guy? I think sometimes you are a little bi-polar on here, but hey, who's perfect? I sure as hell have my faults. I know you ended up with a good exchange, and you deserve credit for cleaning up your own mess. Sincerely, thank you for doing that.

My kids love me. That and other friends and family are where I end deep analysis of my character. I hope it is the same for you. As in if your wife thinks you’re a shmoe you take a good look in the mirror, and if I do.. you don’t care.

I remember once calling into boers sand Bernstein and saying people are saying X. Bernstein immediately says “oh really??! Who is saying that??” I replied, “go to the forums dan!” I proceeded to spit my drink out as he replied, “I wouldn’t go to the forums if I was in Rome!”

But yeah he ended up just sharing a few core opinions with the unbearables in husker nation and having a few key differences... good dude.
