Husker fan here just wanting to congratulate you guys on yesterday’s win. You outplayed us and deserved to win. Brohm has you going in the right direction. Damn good coach. Do whatever it takes to keep him. We need him in the B1G and not some damn SEC school.

Despite our wretched start I don’t think we are a horrible team. So even though this is not the Nebraska of old (haven’t been in a while) I think you guys beat a decent team yesterday on their home turf.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

Thanks. That was a very entertaining game.Your QB is scary good already and Frost has some other great weapons to work with.
Thanks. Yeah, I think Martinez is going to be special. And I think Frost will get this turned around. But yesterday's game was very entertaining. Brohm has you guys clicking. A shame you lost some of those close games early.

It was an entertaining game, you guys are playing like we were early in the season, beating ourselves and looking undisciplined. Frost's post game presser was great in that we have 2nd and 3rd stringers dancing on the sidelines before the game and making stupid plays during it. I think he wants a team that's all business, needs a couple of years to get his type of players and not acting like they are attending a "rave" party. Good Luck to you guys in the future.

There is a lot of talent on that Nebraska team, just missing a few pieces

When Frost gets the people he wants in this program, I think Nebraska will be scary good. I’ve said before that Purdue and Nebraska will be regular contenders for BIG West titles in the future. Two excellent young coaches. Offenses will be drivers. I see Wisky dropping off slowly over time. Frost’s right to be upset with the antics of the players on the sidelines. It seems like a number of players haven’t yet bought in to his philosophy.

I see Nebraska getting better as the season wears on. It’s tough to win with FR QBs in the BIG. The only thing that concerns me (if I was a Nebraska fan) is their defense. Nebraska has seemed a little soft which is a surprise. Not that Purdue has been stout against prolific offenses this year either (Mizzou, Nebraska).

We haven't been worth a damn on defense since 2009, the year Suh graduated. And it has just gotten worse every year. In my opinion, what is really hobbling Frost right now is that for the past 5-7 years we have not recruited well on either the offensive or defensive lines. And if you are going to win in the B1G you need strong lines. We had zero pass rush on Brohm and holy crap he made us pay. So it will take Frost another two or three years to recruit some decent lineman and restore things. But I have confidence he will get it done.

But I agree that Purdue is on an upward trajectory and hopefully Nebraska will be too. I too am sick and tired of Wisconsin. Heck, I was even upset when Wisconsin beat Iowa, and I hate Iowa. Lol.

Nice chatting with you guys. Good luck with the rest of your season

Ok but I keep seeing all this “give Frost time” stuff.. and about how poorly you’ve recruited. A poster on our premium board pointed out that you guys have gotten like 30 four stars in the last four years..

Why is Nebraska fan acting like frost showed up at Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers or even Purdue in 2016..?

Why are fans acting like a team with those two linebackers, Ozigbo, Morgan and the other receiver, and bootle is Gerry dinardos hoosiers?

My only point is we have not recruited well on our two lines. Skill position guys and linebackers... yeah, we are fine. But offensive and defensive lines? Many recruiting busts. This is not the first year of bad line play by us. This has been going on for a while. Look at that train wreck of an offensive and defensive line we had during all three of Riley’s years. Yikes! Pretty awful.

So overall you’d agree that frost has a much much much much mfing much easier of a cake walk backwards in his sleep than say joe Tiller has when he came here, inherited close to 85 two stars and won nine games his first year which was also the year BEFORE Brees.

Tiller inherited a team that had recruited nothing won 9 games.. so why is frosts job hard again? My god if tiller has Ozigbo, Morgan, Pearson, Barry added to his 97 team he might have gone 12-0.

If you’re great... you can do great with great players. But great coaches can make chicken salad from less than poor frost has to work with

No. I don’t agree. Our lines suck. I mean really, really suck. And if you aren’t sound in the trenches none of those skill position guys can do much. Also... was Tiller forced to start a true freshman at QB because the QB’s on the roster were recruited for a different system and transferred out? There was also a bad culture here created by Mike Riley. He never held players accountable. So there are lots of bad habits to be overcome.
Look... I am aware that Tiller did well in his first year. But there are lots of coaches who ended up being great whose first year was awful. Transitions are sometimes difficult.

Why do you keep bustin’ this guy’s stones? He’s been nothing but civil on here, unlike the IU and NW trolls.

IU trolls gonna troll. Suck on this bitch -

Purdue 72 IU 41 Tie 6. We own IU.

How many times have you been banned and come back under a new I.D. on here in the last week?

Like 20. Interesting he keeps mentioning gay as IU has a higher gay population than Purdue. Nothing wrong with that of course but it’s interesting he keeps mentioning it.

Suck worse than coletto? He coached at Purdue for 6 years and his magnum opus was a five win season. I promise you tiller didn’t have anything but two stars on both lines... want me to start looking at recruiting rankings of guys who started on the Nebraska lines yesterday? I guarantee you they weren’t all two stars.

Not a true freshman, just a senior who had passed for 593 yards as a sophomore and 518 as a junior... then for 3136 in his one year under tiller.. who would have pistol whipped the big ten with Morgan, Pearson and Ozigbo if your dad was the QB...

Tiller had to kick a lot of upperclassmen out of town.

So please.. this is more of that patronizing “well, we bluebloods are gonna need some time to come treat you like the kids you are.”

Not happening. QB pitch offenses wouldn’t have worked in this league when you were in the Big 8 and won’t work now. Too physical defensively. Know what I noticed yesterday? Martinez was still effective, but for a good while, he stopped running. And we aren’t Wisconsin. Wait till you see how bruised up he is after Michigan, us and then the badgers.

In fact, wait till you find out how hard recruiting gets if you have a good year and Michigan and Ohio State and Penn State view you as a threat in recruiting. You haven’t been in this league till they come in and try to sign your whole state...

You guys are so sensitive.., he’s the class of his fake nice guy board, but I’m still challenging this idea that frost has it sooo hard.

We have NW trolls?? You mean the school who beat us and now has a worse record cause they can’t buy a win? Lol

Pennsyhusker, any B1G road win is a big win, but winning our 1st in Lincoln is special. Husker fans bring a lot of class and traditional hospitality to the B1G, and your school brings a ton of of football traditions. Your program is a class act and I look forward to more competitive games between our Universities.

Thanks for the compliment. I think you have a great coach he just needs time to prove himself. Norm

I agree a great coach can have a dismal first season because of the transition. Barry Alvarez was 1-10 his first season. Who wouldn't want what came after that?

I noticed a lot of dancing on the sidelines by the Nebraska players. There is nothing to dance about when you are 0-3. I'm sure that is an attitude adjustment that Frost is trying/needs to change.

Your team is eerily similar to ours; good offense, bad/young defense. If those kids played all game like they did in the 3rd quarter there's no way they're 0-4. Good luck from here on out.

Yeah, Frost mentioned the dancing too. He said he did not notice it during the game but saw it on film later. He said "it looks like those guys are ok with losing". Not good. lol

I think our games will be competitive for many years to come. I see you guys are spending a lot of money on facilities upgrades and all of that bling that college programs need these days. I think Nebraska may be resting too much on its laurels in the facilities department. Everybody has great digs now. So things are going to be competitive in every game! I love it. I hated the old days when conferences like the Big Ten and the Big Eight were basically just two teams and then came everybody else. Too many boring and meaningless games. the B1G is only going to get better. Now if we can just get Rutgers to play like they were when Schiano was there! lol

Sorry if I offended you somehow. I assure you I am not over here "playing nice". It is how I post on my own board as well. Hell, it is just football and I don't take myself or anyone else all that seriously. It just something I do for fun. And I don't find being an asshole fun. Yeah, Nebraska is a "blue blood" program. Yawn. I couldn't care less. I just care about winning now, not 20 years ago or 40 years ago. And I like competitive football so I truly do not wish to see Purdue regress. You can disbelieve that all you want, but it is true.

I NEVER post on another team's board. I think I did once about 10 years ago on the Kansas State board. But other than that I never do this. So why did I come on here? Because I was genuinely impressed with your team, your coach, and your fans with last week's game. I liked the style of football I saw. So I felt motivated to come on here and congratulate you in a way I never do with other teams.

As for Frost ... I make no comparisons of him to anyone else or any other situation. I think he has shown he is a good coach. And for whatever reason he inherited two lines that are pretty average to below average. I don't care what their star rankings are. Go back and look at how they have performed over the past three years. This is not something Frost started. It has been going on for a while. Stars or no stars, these guys are just not that good.

Are they better than what Tiller inherited? I don't know. Maybe. Probably? But they still suck. That is all I am saying. Hey, maybe Frost is a fraud and was a one hit wonder down at UCF? Time will tell. All I know is our lines have sucked for several years now

Ok cool, so you’re different from your arrogant co-fans and your coach who made the post game all about Nebraska mistakes and talked about the 600 yards you gained while not realizing most of that was after you went down three scores.

Thank you. I just wish some of the other Nebraska fans didn’t think that a national championship Ohio State team came out and fell asleep on the field against us. It actually reminded me of Purdue’s 2006 team that went to Hawaii with 4* Selwyn Lymon, Kory sheets, Dorien Bryant, Curtis Painter, Dustin Keller and Greg Orton, made plays with the skill positions and lost to a Hawaii team that played better overall.

All fair points.. you’re a nice guy. Good luck

Tiller's accomplishments were phenomenal in his first year at Purdue, with 2 and 3 star recruits. After Toledo, we all were saying, "here we go again."

But, you have to remember, Joe brought in the West coast offense, which took the Big Ten 2-3 years to figure out. So, his success was sort of lucky, in that he caught the league's teams by surprise.

Tiller did not bring in the West Coast offense. He brought in Dennis Erickson’s style spread offense. The West Coast offense was from Bill Walsh of the 49ers, which was considered a Pro Style offense.

Oh look, it's @BoilerFYF acting unhinged and reeking of insecurity and jealousy in another thread. I'm only two threads in, and while you seem somewhat informed, your tactics are quite poor.

You better tighten up or I'm going to clown your unstable ass every single day.

Actually Nebraska had a pretty good day offensively in the second half (I know, we were gassed).

My point was, that although Tiller had a remarkable first several years (and we all loved it, whether you call it a 'West Coast Offense', a 'pro-style offense', or the 'Get Rid of Cavanaugh AnyWayYouCan Offense') when the rest of the Big learned how to defense it, Joe's success fell off.

But some can't let a sleeping dog lie, they just feel it necessary to poke.

None of those labels are accurate for Tiller’s offense. :po_O

Sorry to poke but Tiller’s success is directly related to him not having the funds needed to retain his assistants or be able to go out and hire known commodities.
