Clutch performance by him in the last 6 minutes. The kid is fearless and put this team on his back.

Most Purdue teams of the past would have folded after giving up the lead on the road, but Carsen refused to lose this one.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite Boilermakers ever this season.

Did anyone else think it looked like Dakota didn't want to pass it to Carsen on the last three he made. Carsen's guys stumbled and he ended up with an open shot, but I think Dakota knew that if he passed it to him Carsen was going to shoot it regardless.

Agree and boilers need to be willing to go to offensive sets that allow him in certain situations to break down defense and either finish or dish - not all the time because our motion offense is great but when needed when opponents start overplaying ball

He was feelin' it. Did you see him slap the floor on D right after he hit a 3, responding to AR's 3?

Yes! He slapped the floor hard right in AR's face ready to play D. The kid is a warrior.

Nice game but I wasn't wild about his choice to take the long jumper at 28 seconds... but all ended well so I think I will have one more drink.

A Nebraska player stared at Issac after a dunk on him, and got a tech.
Got me worried about a possible tech on that slapping the floor..

Good game for him.

I mean, the last 2 minutes of the game was filled with not great decisions on offense by both teams. Remember Haarms shot a 3 (which I don't think he's terrible - but certainly not the guy you want shooting a 3 with the game tied). I don't really blame Haarms as time was winding down and he was passed the ball wide open - but not a great offensive set.

Yes to all of this. I like the ball in his hands at end of game situations.

He can penetrate all the way to the rim, but his pull up is deadly even from distance. Fearless and believes every shot is going in. Strong as an ox, so he can take the contact and finish. Also, can use strength to get a little space even on a taller defender.

Look at the replay, he's saying shit while he's on the ground, now once he gets up he doesn't say anything, but he then goes out of his way to bob his head in Isaac's face. I think you can do one, but not both of those and not be worried about a tech. Just because Dakitch says he didn't open his mouth, doesn't mean it is true.

I cringed but then saw the shot clock. Not the best situation but one of these years he will be hitting those. His form is good. It will come and then he will be a nightmare for other centers.

Kid is an absolute baller.
Becoming one of my favorite Boilers of all time.

The amount of sets are what Treed says is a struggle for Nojel at this time. Also, “motion” is a read the defense and if an overplay exists, a back cut is part of motion. With all that, I too wanted to drive it more and have a bit more back cuts. However, this team is not what I call great drivers of the ball and the other teams know that. This was a VERY well coached game by both coaches trying to do what they do best and take away what the other teams do best if possible. Purdue was very fortunate to escape…and escape it was. Still, Purdue is a better team than Michigan…but Michigan had “more” “less heralded” players step up in scoring where Purdue’s contributions from the bench were not as much scoring

I never said it was a struggle for my son I said the system doesn’t quite suite the style my son plays. Good win for this team though

Do you think the Purdue team will play a style that is adjusted to suite team members abilities in the next few years?

I really don’t no to be honest. Right now it’s all about this season and how my son can help this team this season and I believe so far he’s helping them in other ways that is impacting the team success.

Oh no doubt he is helping. Those rebounds and put backs were huge! His defense was top notch.

I "thought" your words were that with so many sets it was a struggle for Nojel to contribute like he can. A "struggle" is NOT the same as can't do it...a "struggle" is a difficulty in doing it. Some students "struggle" to get an A...other students do NOT struggle to get an A. Struggle is not the same as a result. It is a description of difficult issues with NO bearing on the result. By saying the "system" does not quite suite your sons style, you have inadvertently suggested a "struggle" being it perhaps a small struggle but a struggle.

It appears that sometimes you think people are dogging on your son and they are not. I'm about as good of a fan as there can be, but also typically accurate.

I really appreciate you being honest. And you are spot on about Nojel helping this team. He is definitely helping in areas Purdue never had in the past.

If he wasn't helping he wouldn't be seeing the court. The mere fact he got minutes in a crucial game and at a crucial time says he is helping. People mention his board work, D and his put back last night, but had he not made a quick pass to Dakota for a three in the corner...many might not be so happy today.

Nobody has mentioned Grady, but boy did he gather some crucial possessions off of boards, loose balls and such. IN a close game...there are many crucial plays made by many people that are deemed crucial or they wouldn't play. It is obvious he is contributing and this forum knows it...
