Any word on Rondale Moore?

Any information on how Rondale’s visit went or if there is even still room in this class (I assume room would be made) for his commitment?

He was a name I was hoping to see in the commitment list yesterday.

hoping he gives Herman a call this afternoon and tonight announces his flip to us.

I have no inside knowledge, but like everyone, I have been keeping an eye on the net for any news about him.

This is what I think…. Rondale has been committed to Texas for some time so I do not expect to hear anything out of him for at least a couple of days. I would have been shocked if he would have publicly committed on his visit. If he was going to do that he would have already de-committed from Texas. I say no news is good news. To my knowledge he has not publicly reaffirmed his commitment to Texas so that tells me he had a good visit and is considering his options. He will need a couple days to decide and then make some form of public statement of his intentions.

I believe before making a decision he wanted to see what both Purdue and Texas were going to do. We may add McDuffie later, but I'm sure he knows the reasoning if we don't . Unless somebody decommits, this basically is the class for Rondale to evaluate I hope he adds his name to it!

Its in his interest to wait until wensday.. Plus when he signs it will create a lot of buzz and publicity no matter who he signs with but my guess is it will be Purdue.........

Do you guys think Rondale decides to make no decision on Dec. 20th?

If so that would hurt and help us

Hurt; because Brohm will have to continue to wait

Help; because it would mean he's clearly not confident in Texas

Overall seems like Moore will be made room for no matter what but he's really on and off with pulling our hype train. Like is there a single Purdue person on here that hasn't actively followed the Rondale recruitment(not going to place a ? mark)

If he doesn't sign in the early signing period then he doesn't. It doesn't help us, but it certainly doesn't hurt us. This young man has a lot on his plate to consider. Texas and their new coach have a lot to offer. On the other hand, so do we. Both coaches want to play a pass friendly offense, which means plenty of opportunity for WR's that shine. I will wish him well no matter where he ends up. We currently have a few really good prospects that will be signing in December and we are on several good receivers in the 2019 class so we will be okay.

if I were to speculate, I'd say you already received your answer last night with Alexander's commitment. . however, after typing a post, things have changed.

KHC now has a thread saying they are not so sure Purdue offered Alexander a scholarship. his tweet may have been premature. Maybe he thought they did. Maybe it's contingent on Moore's decision. I noticed neither GBI or 24/7 has included Alexander as a commit and they included everyone else.

That tells me Brohm is telling Moore, it's his decision to make, and that Alexander is the back-up plan if he chooses Texas.

I've been wrong before. I've also seen players surprise everyone with their hats tricks on signing day. I'm going to speculate once more. I believe Rondale made a decision, but he won't announce it until Wednesday.

Alexander never committed. Not sure where you're getting that.

Latest on rondale is he decommitted from texas today, and now indicated he will decide after the all star game in January. His trainer says he narrowed his choices down to 6 teams including mich, osu, purdue, Louisville, FSU and Alabama. Mich and FSU have not provided offers and were not previously mentioned.

I will repeat, it was his TRAINER who provided the list of 6. is this a smokescreen? We'll know more tomorrow.

Good or bad smoke screen?

Halftime of Army All America game. Rondale sits down and then lines up caps from OSU, FSU, AL and PU and after several "head fakes" places a PU cap his head, I will say that is a good smokescreen

before speculating, I'd have to see the trainer's actual comments and who he made them to. two of the school names seem like he pulled them out of the air. two other school names seem highly improbable.

there are so many lies made to recruiting sites, it's hard to part the smoke from the fresh air.

for a trainer to come out with this list, rather than rondale it tells me, some recruiting site was on his case, and the trainer basically gave him a bunch of names to leave the kid alone.

You spend an awful lot of time talking about things you know nothing about.

and I've claimed many times I know nothing

However, I'm usually right.

I was right and the firs t person to post about the change of the 1 year scholarship to 4 year scholarship.

I was the first to predict kory Taylor would commit. I also said brohm was looking for a TE, WR, DE and RB with his last commitments. BOOOOOM !

what does that say about the people who claim they know everything? I don't know anything. but I do know a copy and paste when I see it. and rather than copy and pasting from tweets and other recruiting sites, and people's posts, I at least offer my opinions and speculations

And I allow you to make your own.

With all due respect - you post about 40 times a day and your posts are like novels...so you're bound to get something right every once in a while. You're not connected in any way to the program and have no inside knowledge other than what anyone else can read on the web. Love your passion for Purdue sports but I'd love to know what you do for a living that allows you to post ALL day long on here.

Does it matter what he does for a living?

I'm a retired professor and military officer with 4 degrees, and too old and overqualified to get a job. You might say I was part of the swamp. and I'm not old enough to qualify to be a WalMart greeter.

Not at all - was just curious how he had so much time to post so much. He's retired so it makes sense. I would probably post more too if I were retired. Wish I were retired. LOL!

You never really retired from military, did you?
They granted you a section 8 discharge, right?

Be a substitute teacher!!! Always need good ones of those, especially in my school district!! Pay isn’t amazing but it does get to about $80 a day!

I highlighted and underlined the part I disagree with. You have been correct, but when you are you make quite a spectacle of it. Most of what you are "correct" on is opinion, thus making it subjective. I often disagree with almost everything you post, but occasionally you do put out a good point, perspective, or even a fact based statement. I wouldn't go near "often correct" though. If you comment on practically everything you are bound to be correct eventually. A broken clock is correct twice a day, and that doesn't make it any less broken. It's exhausting the fact check you and point it when you are wrong, because you will bend your words and say you meant something else or give some nonsensical analogy.

I will say that a persons career path or education level doesn't change whether they are correct or their comments have any value. A walmart greeter could be correct where as somebody with four degrees could be dead wrong, and the other way around.

That said, this thread has gone off track (shocker). With all that being stated, I agree that Moore is playing this one close to the chest. He doesn't ever show much on twitter or Instagram so he wants it to be a surprise when he announces it. It would make perfect sense for the trainer to throw confusing information so that he can have his moment instead of a reporter trying to steal the glory. My guess is Purdue already knows the answer or at least has a very good idea. I think Brohm wants to lock everybody in early, so its extremely possible he had a conversation with Moore about it and Alexander as well. Alexander has enough offers and visits planned that I don't think he would jump early either way.

We will know when Moore announces and anything other than that is pure speculation. We do know that Moore has the potential to give Purdue one of the best incoming receiving classes and sets the tone for the future. I can't wait for this class to be locked in and see what they can do next year!

Or you could choose not be an arrogant, condescending jerk to a guy who served our country.....you know, like most other people choose to do. Unless the dude was dishonorably discharged or discharged for breaking the law and forced out, no reason for your post. Wole and I don’t always see eye to eye on things and that’s true for many others here...but the thing I do and I am sure you could do as well is post without sounding like you are being a jerk.

That being said, I don’t think I’ve really ever read or remember reading your stuff so if your beef is with Wole, leave his military service out of it and keep it to his novels and seemingly lack of ability to keep it ‘short and sweet’ (tic Btw Wole).

My guess is Moore is probably throwing some names out there in the public sphere to garner some interest in the event some of these programs find they are short a playmaking WR. Can’t really fault for that..kind of similar to the RB from Miami who blew his knee up and had his agent on the phone during the draft to scare other teams in to drafting him higher than he probably should have gone with the severity of that knee. Good tactic but one Purdue seems equipped to counter if need be with a staff that knows what it is doing. My guess is is Moore decides to go elsewhere: option B is Alexander, option C is a grad transfer/transfer from Ole Miss, option D is a Juco, and option E is a prospect type player or banking the scholarship.

I ran into a Trinity student tonight, similar to what happened to me a couple of a weeks ago. He was wearing a Trinity jacket, so I struck up a conversation. He said the decommitment talk was all over campus today. I asked him if he had heard anything on why he decommited. He said that Rondale felt that Texas was recruiting over him. They seemed to be going for taller receivers, and he felt he was not as much of a priority as he was months ago.

I asked him if there was any talk on where he might be going. He said that most people on campus feel Purdue is the leader right now. However, he did say that he had heard that several big time programs were reaching out to try to make a late push for him.

Which of the incoming wrs do you see playing right away instead of redshirting?

my posts are long. .My point which is usually lost, is I'm trying to point out that I know nothing, but through speculation, I am very close to reaching the same conclusions as those who claim to have inside information or pay for that info. I realize it comes across like I believe I know everything. I'm just trying to point out if you take 20-30 minutes, you can know and find the same info.

Moore 's tweet said he was going to wait until the later signing period before announcing. Didn't Stepp tweet almost the exact same sentiment ? And then he committed to USC a couple of days later? Was Stepp lying? or Did he send up a smoke screen knowing the recruiting sites would bite?

Moore had a trainer talk to the press. I can believe some schools like FSU and Tenn and Florida with new coaches trying to fill out their class were probably aware of Moore wavering from Texas. I can believe Mich and Louisville and OSU are always looming in the background. his trainer saying he has 6 finalists is believable.

But I also believe a lot of the stuff that is tweeted or appears on recruiting sites, and made by posters is either black smoke, or people just making stuff up and others believing them. I've read a lot of lies and smoke screens on the internet especially when it comes to college recruiting.

my real thoughts on Moore. he saw what everyone was telling him about Texas. Much like all those basketball stories, they lied to him.. they like him, but they like several others more. Like most people have said, Moore likes Brohm, but he's not so sure what the future at Purdue will hold. he received some last minute interest from some big name schools who previously ignored him. My real thought is if he's coming to Purdue, he won't wait until the all star game, he'll announce tomorrow. and if Alexander signs with Purdue, my speculation will be Brohm already knows Moore's answer was no, and he will be looking elsewhere. Even though they are different types of receivers, I don't believe Brohm will sign both Moore and Alexander.

Those are my fears.

No reason to fear. There are at least three WR’s committed plus a beavy if others that will continue to get better through spring/fall camp. My guess is that Brohm likely grabs a grad transfer if he doesn’t find a guy he wants on campus, uses the scholly for one year, and then uses it again for the 2019 class.

While Moore is a great talent and would be a very welcome addition to our roster, I like the WR's that are committed right now. I hope Moore eventually comes to Purdue, but we will be okay if he doesn't.

I agree with Wolegib that Brohm will not get both Alexander & Moore. IMO there is no reason to take that many WR's in this class. We have 3 WR's already committed and four would be enough for one recruiting class when we have needs at so many other positions. That being said, I believe as long as Moore is a possibility Brohm will not add another WR. If I am correct that would mean any other WR offer is conditional on Moore's decision. We have 3 good WR's committed now so we can afford to wait on a great WR prospect beyond the early signing period. I could be wrong, but that is what I tend to think at this time.

I'm not sure the Moore situation and the Stepp situation are close to the same. I may be wrong, but from what I have read it does not sound like Stepp was ever as close to Coach Brohm as Moore is. It sure seems like Moore has been in contact with Coach Brohm for a very long time.

My point was not to say the situation was the same. but their tweets were. if all you consider is a person's tweets, they were similar. In that regard, I don't take a person's tweets or what a trainer said as gospel. Sometimes what is shared to the media is just words to get the media off their back.

Call it a gut feeling, but I think he will end up a Boilermaker. He set his own deadline to make a decision. You don't do that unless you have some idea where you will end up. If not us, I would guess Louisville. I really don't think it will be some new university at the last minute. That is just my two cents worth.

Could this be a case of Double Secret deal that he HAS signed but Purdue has agreed not to list him or speak of him until he has his day in the Sun, announcing his selection of school at the All-Star FB game on January 6th...just wondering!
