Carsen thanks you for your patience and understanding.I am excited to see him but don't want to put too much pressure on him since he is a freshman.

A lot of people have a poor understanding of the transition from high school to B1G basketball. And they don't understand that under normal circumstances, Swanigan would be graduating from his high school class in a couple of months.I thought there was a lot of pressure on Biggie to perform. Coming in he was one of the top recruits in the country. When he started out being average, a lot of people were surprised. It will be interesting to watch him grow.
That was the problem right there. Kramer was a decent role player whose career tends to get a little more romanticized than what it was. Just because you see someone similar doesn't mean you have to offer him. Grant was never big ten caliber. I would much rather painter not be able to resist offering kids that remind him of etwaun or rob.So who moved 1st?
Re: GW
“There’s a family connection there,” Fox said. “[Purdue] love the style of play he plays. They see him in the mold of Chris Kramer. He loves their team and loves their staff and he’s close friends with Ryan Cline.”
“That’s where he wanted to go,” Fox said. “He’s a life long Purdue fan. His dad went to Purdue.”
From Painter:
"I had promised myself when I saw someone who was close to Chris Kramer in terms of what he can do defensively and his effort I would take him again — no matter what," Painter said last April.
Not sure what you mean by that. Kramer was the best defenders in the B1G and one of the best ever at Purdue. No one wanted to to be guarded by him and opposing fans hated him. He also made his teammates better by how hard he worked in practice.Kramer was a decent role player whose career tends to get a little more romanticized than what it was.
I find myself agreeing with both of you. He was exactly what those Purdue teams needed him to be. A terrific defender, exceptional athlete, a hustle guy.. kind of a swiss army knife. The only thing he didn't do above average for his position was shoot, but on those teams we had good shooters at the other 4 positions. However, even if GW were to have become the "next CK3" I don't think he would be nearly as effective today for 2 reasons: (1) the make-up of the roster - with Haas and Biggie on the court any guard who is not a perimeter threat is a liability (2) rule changes rendering his style of defense less effectiveNot sure what you mean by that. I mean exactly what I said. His abilities get overrated by some of the diehards. He was a decent player. Not sure what you mean by that. If GW were as good as Kramer he would have started this year. I suspect your analysis of CK is based on raw point production. That is not an accurate gage of his contribution. Note that CK did most of his scoring in crunch time. If we needed a bucket late he hit a jumper or finished a drive to get it. Man did we miss that this season! I haven't even mentioned the all BIG defense. That was the problem right there. Kramer was a decent role player whose career tends to get a little more romanticized than what it was. No.Do more players transfer from Purdue than the average high major school these days? It doesn't seem like it to me.
If the98 remaining players all return for 2016-17, consider PurdueAHEAD of the packtypical in terms of transfers and early departures.
Among those making the decision to return (assuming no additional transfers and no one hires an agent):
-A former all freshman B1G guard who played only 14 mpg as a Junior
-An athletic 6'9" RS Soph forward who has barely seen the court in two years at Purdue, patiently learning behind 2 or 3 future NBA players
-A 5 star big man who came in with thoughts of being 1 and done and nearly performed well enough down the stretch to do so
-A pair of heralded shooters who have been content to seek first the post entry and shoot as a 2nd or 3rd option
These are the types of players you might expect to transfer at a lot of programs. That there is no mass exodus a la OSU tells me there is a healthy locker room and these guys are generally bought in.
OK. Then we simply disagree. You described him as a role player, which I agree. But in his role, I think he was excellent, not simply decent. And I don't believe that I am romanticizing.I mean exactly what I said. His abilities get overrated by some of the diehards. He was a decent player.

Maybe a legend to some. Certainly not in my book. It's not an insult to him. Very few people belong in the same breath as guys like Robinson, mount, Moore, etc.Uh, maybe not an All-American but don't tell me he's not a Purdue legend. He epitomized Purdue's tough as nails image, created years earlier by GK.
Who is making him out to be an all American? Hyperbole much?I have to agree Kramer was a good player but not an all American like some people are making him out to be.
Would you have traded him for Blackmon from iu, a 5-star offensive wiz?Speaking of defensive players, I was curious. We all know that R. Davis was a great defensive player, but he was an average offensive player. Would you rather of have it the opposite? A great scorer but average defender? The lack of an offensive play maker hurt us in March.
