2025 and 2026 Recruiting

Cool. Answer why Perry is better than Cox.
Not sure you deserve an answer with your attitude but here goes. Perry is the #1 player in Kentucky, he is on pace to break the state scoring record and owns the 3 pt record for threes made in Kentucky. He is a 6’2” point guard who is very smart and could play alongside Smith if he chooses the Boilers. Cox may have a higher ceiling, not sure, but Smith is ahead right now for sure.

Perry broke the state scoring record last year and has played high school ball since 7th grade. That helped him break the record as a junior.

My attitude is due to the fact that you just try to troll.

And of course smith is ahead of cox and will be next year. Just like X was ahead of JHS.

Well aware of who Perry is and what his accomplishments have been. He is the all time scorer in KY due to the fact he’s had 5 years on varsity and will have his whole senior year to extend his record, thus making it almost impossible for someone else to break it. I don’t doubt he can score, but being an all time scorer in high school doesn’t always translate to D1. Hope the kid has a great career, but seeing highlights of Cox shows that he may be the better piece—and I trust painter, who has shown he has an eye for talent before a lot of others realize it.

High School stats are great, but they are just one data point. Luke Brown, for example, was the #4 scorer in Indiana High School basketball history and is currently at Stetson. He had a nice sophomore year, but he didn’t get any high major offers, to my knowledge.

I’m not saying that Perry isn’t better than Cox. I don’t know. But, I don’t think that an argument based on stats alone is very convincing.

Isn't he a 2024 kid? I would assume he only has an offer if Gicarri doesn't commit.

247 did just change him from cool to warm for Purdue though. For whatever that is worth.
He was in the 2025 class but reclassified recently to 2024. He’s got a complete game and can stretch the floor. Currently best I can find his top 3 are Minnesota, Wisconsin and Purdue. It seems us and the 🦡 are the top 2. He grew up in Wisconsin.

Not sure how the scholarship issues could play out. It’d be tough to pass on him waiting on Harris and get neither. At this point with Harris not yet committed, I wonder how solid we are in his recruitment? Is there any way to work it so they both can get a scholarship 🤷🏼‍♂️? 💛🖤🏀

Saw this and found it interesting. Not sure if they are going to be a package deal but I’m sure IU won’t pursue Mullins because he can shoot the basketball.

If Colvin and Catchings are still here and everyone else stays…We technically have only 1 scholarship for 2025 right (Furst gone)? So Sisley would be a higher priority than Mullins?

IU doesn’t like shooters or kids from indiana

One system is a proven winner and one is a consistent nut house....I question any recruit wanting to commit to that mess....down south

Our “system”/ offense is also showing its guard friendly (not just throwing into the paint) and also more modern by actually incorporating the 3pt shot. It also shows that it can develop players, no matter their rating out of high school.

This is something that is not occurring elsewhere in the state.

since you are younger...some of the older crowd remembers a long distance shooter in the early 80s for Purdue...Curt Clawson. A short video of him relative to public office

Well technically Paint has just kicked their collective asses in recruiting the state and getting the better commitments LOL!

For sure! Sisley is in their backyard much like TKR was…and Mullins I hear is a big IU fan…but if they continue to be mediocre…maybe they’ll both look elsewhere.
