reach....come on, reach higher....you can do it.Don't have to try at all. Just let you go on about low 3-4 star ratings, lack of 5-star one-and-dones, who else has offered, and Matt ten Dam comparisons. Pure gold.

Don't get sucked into a personal exchange. You know what Ben Franklin said about arguing with...Don't have to try at all. Just let you go on about low 3-4 star ratings, lack of 5-star one-and-dones, who else has offered, and Matt ten Dam comparisons. Pure gold.

Will CMP hold a scholarship for Washington? If so, for how long?No idea about Huff. Seems like they should wait to see how some of these other offers shake out. If they liked him as much as the others he would have likely already had a scholarship. Maybe they need to see him more.
The interesting thing to me about the Shavers commit is Washington is also considering UNC and has a visit lined up. They seem to have very similar games as face up 4/5s, I know nothing about the UNC roster, but it does take a scholly at similar position away for them. If they need 2 bigs it's obviously a non-issue though. The one negative for Purdue is a crowded frontcourt, so this at least evens the playing field a little.
I really like Williams of the guys on that list as the 1A priority. He seems like an Ivey clone. If Ivey leaves next year the roster will need someone like him to step in and create off the dribble for the offense. I'm sure that is the pitch the staff is giving him, and it can't hurt to show him exactly how he will be used at Purdue when showing him clips of Ivey last year.
Yes but Furst gives us a ton of flexibility. We could wait for a big in 2023 if needed. Go for wing/guards in 2022. Justice Williams would be a huge get with the Ivey projections in the draft. Will CMP hold a scholarship for Washington? If so, for how long?
Remember when he passed on Jeremy Holloway? Or when he backed away from Dickinson to focus on Edey? This is where the diff between all of us on here and Painter becomes apparent. He's paid to make the BIG decisions.

Maybe. It's still early and there always seems to be a player or two who appear out of nowhere.Removing Will Shavers. Do we offer Huff now? Tarris Reed visiting in a few days.

He didn’t back off Dickinson. It was the other way around. Obviously glad Edey is at Purdue.Remember when he passed on Jeremy Holloway? Or when he backed away from Dickinson to focus on Edey?
If his game is similar to Ivey, you hold as long as needed. And even if you run out of scholies, you find one some other way. Will CMP hold a scholarship for Washington? If so, for how long?
What's the chances of a commitment this weekend?
I think this weekends visit will tell a lot. Painter has other offers out there and Heide may need to make a decision sooner rather than later. What's the chances of a commitment this weekend?
Edey was a backup plan after Dickinson Kalkbrenner and Carlson fell through. It just worked out really well since he is better than the later 2 playersHe didn’t back off Dickinson. It was the other way around. Obviously glad Edey is at Purdue.
Yeah if Heide doesn't commit now after the visit then it likely means he is fishing for a better offer Considering how long Painter has been on him, his connections to the School and the other 2 big players in Minnesota and Arizona had coaching changes.I think this weekends visit will tell a lot. Or he's enjoying the recruiting process and wants to make some visits and thoroughly evaluate his options.Edey was a backup plan after Dickinson Kalkbrenner and Carlson fell through. It just worked out really well since he is better than the later 2 players

Close em boys !!Tarris Reed also in town.
I agree. The knocks that keep him from being higher are that he doesn't have elite athleticism or skills. He's a well put together, big bodied kid and with an offer list that includes KU, MSU and U of M. I'd expect him to be rated higher.I really like Reed's game from what I've seen of his highlight videos. Strong to the basket, but a surprisingly nice touch on his shot, it seems. I don't know anything about him, but I wonder what the knock on him is to "only" be 94th in 247 Composite.
Also, I hate to say it, but he's the kind of player that Izzo has recruited very well. (Although not all of them turn out)

You're right in that talent varies somewhat from class to class but that's not what's going on here. Reed has a 247 composite rating of 0.9515, that's not going to get you in the top 75 the majority of years.Ranking means nothing. Look at his rating.
Some classes are loaded, dropping a player's ranking. Other classes can be thinner in talent, resulting in higher-ranked players for the same rating.
Thank you.
It is a little strange..... Heide's last post was announcing his visit to Purdue, then crickets. At a minimum you will typically see a "Had a great visit at X University this weekend."
