Purdue is #24 in ESPN Way Too Early Poll

4 seniors who spent a ton of time together, a energetic shot blocking 6th man and a dynamic sophomore combo guard. Hard to see us losing those seniors and staying in the top 25, even at the end of it. I don't think we'll be at the bottom of the B1G (unless CE leaves) but I think on the...

Are some of you nuts??? (long, so sue me)

To the OP and all those who are very happy with Painter: I think CMP is a slightly above average coach. Give any slightly above average B1G coach 13 years at a B1G school with solid tradition and they better come up with 2 league championships and a handful of S16's. At many schools they...

Are Boilers pulling for the B10 @ the final 4?

I like Beilein, so I have no problem with UM. I'd prefer Loyola just because they are such a low seed, but I will root for the winner of that game for sure.

Are some of you nuts??? (long, so sue me)

Interesting facts. Crean is 1-3 in S16's with a final 4. Painter is 0-4. In his 3 losses, Crean's average defeat has been 12.67 points. In Painter's 0-4 record, his average defeat has been 17.5. Just interesting that you would talk about Crean getting manhandled. I would probably take CMP...

    Evan Boudreaux Commits!

Don't know much about him, but his highlights look solid, numbers are solid even against good teams and he certainly fills a need. Welcome Evan!!

    Carsen Declares

The team loses 4 starting seniors. How much improvement, I'm not totally sure but his numbers could blow up next year. Then again he may see that we will not be very good next year and go ahead and make the move this year if he thinks he might get drafted in the 1st round.

Team loses top-scoring big man … makes Elite Eight

So I'm an idiot and a jerk and not smart enough to understand. Tough guys on message boards always use name calling when they can't use logic. Thanks for explaining his 5.7 boards per game as the biggest man in college basketball

Okay, I ask nothing but your honesty...your feelings

Some coaches have the ability to take a team further than others, period. Yes, it would have made a difference going to the Elite 8. Why, as it's only 1 game? Because in 12 or 13 years, CMP has never sniffed that game. Making it there would show some sort of progress.

Team loses top-scoring big man … makes Elite Eight

If you watched the game, you realize Haas wouldn't have helped. He's below average on the boards for a big man and slow, and their athletic rebounding team would have still taken full advantage of that.

    Next head coach at Purdue

This is asinine. The last time Purdue was in the final 4 was before many on here were born. Who has ever said anything CLOSE to Purdue should be in the final 4 every year? Beilein is on his way to his 2nd final 4 with UM. There's a coach. Doing it the right way, took over a program that was...

    Great team win

On a day when your best player shoots 4-17 and your (arguably) 2nd most important player is out with a broken elbow: - Haarms getting boards and blocking shots - VE making clutch plays throughout the game - Cline with the rare drive and 3 pointer - PJ Thompson looking like Ronnie Johnson with...

    Thank you Mr. Haas

Couldn't agree more. Best wishes to Isaac as he pursues the NBA and whatever else he sets his mind to. Seems like a great young man and he certainly is and has been a great Boiler.

NCAA First Round: Purdue vs. Cal State-Fullerton: Predictions & Game-Thread

Great to see us running away with this thing and not even playing that well. Hopefully this serves as a good warm up before a decent challenge on Sunday.

    We have devolved...

We are dominating now and not playing well. I'm not too worried.

    LOVE our bracket

They lost 3 out of 6 during a recent stretch in February. Struggled is relative, but I just meant they haven't been setting the college basketball world on fire.

    LOVE our bracket

I absolutely get this. For now, I like our draw and don't see any reason we can't be a final 4 team. Hopefully we can step up in the tournament this time.

    30 years later...

I think Wichita State gives us that help, although they would be a tough matchup.

    LOVE our bracket

Wow, what a great draw! Nova really struggled down the stretch, and while they are clearly talented, I'm not even sure they will be there in the elite 8. Texas Tech is just ok to me... I don't see them as a 3 seed, and really don't mind that matchup as far as 2/3 goes. Wichita State, who...

    Michigan

This made me lol. He was pretty awesome tonight.... and all year. Special player.

    Big game tomorrow

With the win tonight, we SHOULD be on the 2 line. I don't see us getting on the 1 line regardless of what happens tomorrow. But let's win and get a piece of that B1G championship and enjoy some time off before the big tourney.
