With a win tomorrow IMO the order is:
Virginia
Villanova
Xavier
Purdue
Kansas
Duke
Cincinnati
MSU
UNC

So we’d be right on the 1 bubble. One more Q1 win from any of the 3 teams behind us probably moves them onto the 1 line. The difference between beating PSU and UM vs beating OSU and MSU is our vulnerability.

I was just thinking about this. If we win tomorrow we have made a good case! We might not have gotten the opportunity for the wins over the #1 and #2 BTT seeds, but one could argue if we do get the win tomorrow, we have beaten the 3 of the 4 hottest teams in the BTT. (The 1st of the 4 being us if we win it of course!) A win tomorrow should at least lock up a #2 seed if we haven't already. As long as we get good matchups and a good regional location I am not going to be too stressed about a #1 vs. a #2 seed. Besides a #2 seed probably is a little less pressure! (As far as Kansas, they got whipped good today, I don't think they are going to get a #1 seed unless perhaps they when their tournament - even then, I think they would need help to get it).

What was the comment at the end of the game. One of the guys calling the game asked a question of the other asking if he thought PU was as high as a 3 seed? I was like WTF is he talking about. Granted whoever he asked quickly said oh yes higher than that.

With the win tonight, we SHOULD be on the 2 line. I don't see us getting on the 1 line regardless of what happens tomorrow. But let's win and get a piece of that B1G championship and enjoy some time off before the big tourney.

Honestly, I don't care seed, but matchups. Some of those bracketology samples I have seen with us as a 2 seed seemed better than when we were a 1. As a 2 seed, we were often paired with Xavier as the 1 seed. As a 1, we were project with the really strong 2 seeds - like Duke for example, which I'm not sure I like so much with their NBA frontcourt.

if you want number 1, you have to think that way first. Always think you are the best!

I voted no, but it is possible. Xavier or Villanova will get at least one more loss. Kansas just got thrashed by Ok State. Purdue will jump Gonzage as well with a win over Michigan. The problem is, Duke and Kansas are going to have several opportunities to add key wins. OSU losing hurt Purdue and same with MSU. Had a chance at two more tier 1 wins and didn't because they lost.

For Purdue to get a one seed, Nova will have to lose at least once, maybe twice. Duke will have to lose at least once (but if they lose to UNC and don't win the tournament that is even better for Purdue).

To be honest, I think I would rather be a 2 seed in the weakest bracket than a 1 in the toughest bracket. Purdue relies on shooting and the first half against Penn State was absolutely dreadful with no rebounding. Nojel came in and saved the day thankfully. I think Purdue will be in the 4-6 overall range with a win. A loss to Michigan will make for some sweating on selection day with a possibility at a 3 seed.

Key to everything is Vince's ankle. He needs to rest that thing as best as he can because the NCAA tournament is the prize every Purdue fans wants and needs.

Kansas and MSU getting dropped and the fact that only Xavier or Nova will split theirs...Purdue likely locks in a 1 seed with a win.

I happen to think that if Purdue loses BUT Kansas, Duke, and Xavier gets beat before their title game, Purdue gets a 1 seed based on getting to the conference title game.

Thia isn't even a question. To think Purdue would be a number 2 or less seed is ridiculous. We are clearly # 1 seed. Most likely in the Midwest.

Kansas just lost and Duke is trailing NC by 11 with 14 minutes to go.

Did you hear Bill Raftery and Grant Hill discussing this? Raftery said Purdue would be a high 3 seed if they win the Big Ten Championsip, maybe even a 2... They discussed it right after Haas got called for a technical for receiving a Stone Cold Stunner from Julian Moore. As of this morning, Lunardi had Purdue as a 2 in the south bracket with Miami, Tennessee, and Houston- some super athletic teams that will get out in the passing lanes and apply heavy ball pressure.

Rafferty must have had 1 too many drinks. I don't see how we would be lower than a 2 seed if we beat Michigan tomorrow. Hell, I think it's possible we'd be a 2 seed if we lost.

Purdue was locked in to a two seed at worst, when they won yesterday. Win tomorrow and a one is possible.

It was nantz. He was clueless.

Ohhh....I thought nantz made the comment about a 3 seed. Purdue has a 2 seed locked up. Hill and Rafferty are retarded.

Nothing happens tomorrow. We have a week to let top seeds lose.

It seems to me that a lot would have to happen for the 1 seeds not to be Duke, VA, Nova, and X. Purdue looks to be a 2 seed regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's game.

Swept by Oklahoma State and you still have them as a potential 1?

Beat UM and another tier 1 win
I wasnt aware of their loss to Okl St when I replied. Stranger things have happened, because like Duke, they seem to get the nod. If we win tomorrow, we could possibly be the 4th #1. Duke will be hard to pass after beating UNC today.

Yeah I have to agree, unfortunately I think win or lose we are a 2 seed regardless at this point. UM beating MSU certainly helped us, but not sure it will be enough based on other games and their outcomes.

Lunardi just tweeted that we’re locked in as a 2 regardless of what happens in the Michigan game.

That’s interesting because it implys the 1 seeds are set.

or that it's 4/5 playing for three of them (with Virginia already a top seed), and Purdue is not one of that group. And, keep in mind that Joey Brackets doesn't always predict the seeds accurately. He's had good success with predicting the actual field participants, yes.

I think this is it. We are close, but no cigar regardless .... which is totally fine with me.
