Painter: "Alright fellas, time to mold our plan for the season. What do we have?"
Assistant 1: "Coach, we have a ton of athleticism and excellent 3 point shooting."
Assistant 2: "Coach, we've got the best point guard in the country."
Assistant 3: "Coach, we've got 2 guys over 7' 2" with guard/forward skills that can shoot the 3."
Assistant 4: "Coach, we've got ridiculous depth."

Next year is going to be so uptempo and fun!

Tre starring in Europe

"I particularly like ALBA's style of play as a team," Williams shared on the club's website. "Luke Sikma and ALBA's way of using him on the court inspired my decision-making."

The young center topped the EuroCup charts in rebounds and recorded 12 double-doubles, a mark equaled by few in a single season. Williams ranked second in Player Index Rating (PIR) with an average of 22.1 and led all centers in assists. He was named to the All-EuroCup First Team in 2024.

Moderator's Note: Shutting Down ALL threads on the Trump shooting

Hey guys, I know i normally let this place kind of police itself like the wild west, but a signficant event like this needs some moderation. No matter what side you are on, yesterday was horrific. It was an escalation of a political process that was already out of control. We have so little information, and the situation is basically radioactive and can devolve into any number of personal attacks.

Therefore, I am shutting down ALL posts discussing it. They will be deleted, and I will keep an out out for any new ones.

My own personal views are not a secret. Both major candidates have flaws and are terrible choices. This is not the place to promote or condone violence, however.

Purdue football 48 Days to Purdue Football: Bennet Boehnlein

Bennett Boehnlein - So.
Louisville, KY (St. Xavier HS)
6'3", 205 pounds
Punter
2024 Projection: Reserve

Purdue needs a new punter this season with the departure of Jack Ansell. It currently has just two on the roster in Boehnlein and Keelan Crimmins, an Australian who transferrred in from Mississippi State. Crimmins probably has the edge, as he was the starter last year in Starkville, but Boehnlein has spent some time in the program.

He also could see some time as the holder on placekicks. I say that mostly because the one picture in action they have on his Purdue bio is him serving as a holder.

Back to Rivals after a year+ at ON3

The Purdue On3 site was OK when it started. The content was OK. It was the forum that drove the volume.

I've been a 20+ year member of what was Gold and Black online (aka Knuclehead Central). Recently. I had log-on issues and I sent several messages to whomever to correct the problem. The responses I got were automated and didn't address the issue. I've spent 20 PLUS years on that site and the response was an autogenerated email that didn't address the issue. So I came back here to discuss Purdue sports.

So looking forward to some decent discussions on Purdue sports on this site.

Purdue football 50 Days to Purdue Football: John Randle Jr.

John Randle Jr. - Fr.
Horn Lake, MS (Horn Lake HS)
6'4", 275 pounds
Offensive Line
2024 Projection: Likely Redshirt

Because of the depth Purdue has along the offensive line It is very likely that Randle is going to redshirt. It is hard to be a lineman in the Big Ten under 300 pounds, so this is a year for him to bulk up in the weight room. That's not a bad thing, either. Purdue has the luxury of depth along the offensive line, so developing Randle for the future is fine.

Randle was a multi-sport star in high school. He was a four-year starter for a team that unortunately went 11-29 in his four years. This includes a 1-19 stretch in his final two years. To me, that reminds me of for Purdue lineman Mike Otto. I covered him quite a bit his final years at Maconaquah HS and it was a case of he was a standout on a very bad team. Much of their offense was simply "We have a Division I lineman, so run behind him".

Randle also played on a basketball team that went 30-2 his junior year and he played baseball. That makes him a very interesting prospect moving forward.

Edey summer league

So there are 3 summer leagues now, California, Salt Lake City, and Vegas. China has a team. The Sacramento Kings have 2 teams. Memphis is playing in SLC and Vegas. Anyone have knowledge if Edey is going to play in SLC? They play tomorrow night at 8 CT on ESPN. Then again Tuesday at 6 CT on ESPN, and Wednesday at 6 CT on NBA TV.

Las Vegas for the Grizz starts Friday at 5 CT on NBA TV.

Purdue football 51 Days to Purdue Football: Landon Drennan

Landon Drennan - Fr.
PLainfield, IN (Plainfield HS)
6'2", 210 pounds
Linebacker
2024 Projection: Likely Redshirt

Like many walk-ons, Drennan is a local product trying to make his mark. Last year at Plainfield he led the team with 73 tackles and four sacks. For his four-year career, he made 256 tackles, including 29 for a loss, with 15 sacks, nine fumble recoveries and six caused fumbles. That was enough that KEvin Kane offered him a preferred walk-on spot for this year.

During his HS career his team had a roughly .500 record, but htey did when a sectional title when he was a junior. Last year they started 5-0, but finished 6-4 with a loss to Harrison in the sectional.

Dreannan will almost certainly redshirt this year, but look for him down the road.
