John Randle Jr. - Fr.
Horn Lake, MS (Horn Lake HS)
6'4", 275 pounds
Offensive Line
2024 Projection: Likely Redshirt

Because of the depth Purdue has along the offensive line It is very likely that Randle is going to redshirt. It is hard to be a lineman in the Big Ten under 300 pounds, so this is a year for him to bulk up in the weight room. That's not a bad thing, either. Purdue has the luxury of depth along the offensive line, so developing Randle for the future is fine.

Randle was a multi-sport star in high school. He was a four-year starter for a team that unortunately went 11-29 in his four years. This includes a 1-19 stretch in his final two years. To me, that reminds me of for Purdue lineman Mike Otto. I covered him quite a bit his final years at Maconaquah HS and it was a case of he was a standout on a very bad team. Much of their offense was simply "We have a Division I lineman, so run behind him".

Randle also played on a basketball team that went 30-2 his junior year and he played baseball. That makes him a very interesting prospect moving forward.
