Tv revenue. Purdue will have better facilities and I expect higher pay all around including for recruits. Also the head coach salary is endowed by the most generous cash gift in Purdue sports history. Two good guys. Great coaches.
But why would either come to Purdue? Kinda a lateral move.
No more D coordinators. Not for head coach, but just heard a stat on the Ohio D coordinator, Ohio has only allowed 12 points in the first quarter through 10 games this year. That's pretty impressive.
We didn’t have anyone that could call offensive plays besides Harrell and it didn’t stop us from firing him. Some of you are delusional. And all you care about is Purdue winning football games! And if they don’t, you want everyone and everything fired! You’re all upset that IU is having an awesome year. So instead of being a good sport, And giving them props for their accomplishments, you still hate them. And want the Purdue coach fired because he’s not as successful.
Let’s look at this logically. Walters is going to coach the MSU game. If he loses, the quickest he would be fired would be Saturday night or Sunday. And who is going to be given the job of coaching Purdue against IU? Someone outside the school? That’s not going to happen within one week. Purdue doesn’t have an offensive Coordinator to step in. Looking at our scores, would you really want Purdue’s defense coordinator to be in charge against a high powered Indiana offense!
So, if Walters is not going to be fired until after the MSU game, who in your mind is going to come in and coach Purdue? And please don’t say Dree Breese is going to mysteriously show up and lead us to victory!
It’s time to go back into the real world and accept the facts. Purdue suks this year! And Walters isn’t going anywhere until the season is over!
If Indiana gets in while losing to Ohio State, I think the blueprint is there.
1. Have a decent team.
2. Schedule nobody in the non-conference. Remember they bought out the Louisville game they had scheduled.
3. Have a conference schedule in one of these new mega conferences where you miss most or all of the best teams and beat the lower level teams.
Personally, I would not reward a team sitting on the fence that schedules so poorly out of conference. You can't control the conference schedule but if you happen to have a really bad one and don't beat any quality teams, and didn't play any out of conference, I don't think that should be rewarded. If it is, we're going to see some really boring Septembers in college football in the near future because if all that matters is wins then there is no incentive to play decent competition.
Reminds me of qualifying for the NCAA tournament and the Quad wins. The value of your opponents and wins matter. They should in football as well. When a team is on the bubble in February and March, beating the last place team on your homecourt doesn't move you. It shouldn't in football either.
That said, I think it's absurd that any conference should get more than 2 teams in the playoffs. Certainly not 4. The conference season should determine who the best teams are in each conference. If that's impossible because we now barely play half the other teams in the Big Ten and SEC each year, that's too bad for those conferences. Find a better format or way to determine your champion.
Of course that's exactly why the new playoff format skipped right from 4 teams, over the logical number of 8, and directly to 12. The Big Ten and SEC run the show now and want to flood the field with 3/4 teams each for money. Just a terrible setup from the start. I don't care to watch SEC football in the regular season and I certainly don't care to watch them rematch in the playoffs. And you know when Indiana and Penn State should play? During the conference season. Then one of them would have a quality win and we would know who belongs in the playoffs.
Heide really gas chance to be ruler of small ball 4, he needs to go all in and also run a few plays for himDid u notice Heide

I mailed my letter today. If all you guys don't do the same you are just blowing hot air and accomplishing nothing.Anyone written one yet? Let's post them .

Mike Carmin had some info (minimal) on these players in his most recent Lafayette Sports report article. I’ll see if I can find a way to link it here. Not much detail but lists the reasons for each.I haven’t followed that much yet, anyway I noticed 5 are out, are these season Enders or will some return soon? Poole would be nice to see return along with at least 1 other big.
This is the way. TKR looks like a vintage forward from the 90s, and that's a compliment. We are best when he is the 5.I still maintain our best shot is TKR in the middle and four wings. Even with all the turnovers and whatnot we still didn't give up a ton of points, and it's not like Berg or Furst are really any better at rim protection than TKR right now. Whatever they are giving us isn't worth what we lose. Obviously they need to play some minutes since TKR can't play 40 a night, but I think starting Berg doesn't make much sense anymore.
100% agree, great postI love smith and am his biggest fan and have been on here saying he’s the best PG in our programs history.
HOWEVER. While he has been good, I have noticed that his body language (yeah yeah I know Colvin blah blah blah 😂) isn’t great when it comes to his teammates not being in the right spot or missing one of his passes, or even when a call doesn’t go Purdues way. I feel, at times, he acts a bit entitled, like he has earned the right to a call or he can kind of half ass it on a play. He got up for the bama game, but it seems for some of these other games he’s lost that “chip on his shoulder” mentality.
He needs to understand real quick that this is HIS team and we go as far as he takes us. It may not be pretty and all great stats this year for him, but just win in any way possible. He had lazy passes last night and that set the tone for others on the team too. Sure Marquette was physical, but so what? So is northwestern and every other big ten team. Players take notice who is called better than them—individually and team wise. We are the hunted and will be all year, as other teams can smell blood/will try to take advantage of no NPOTYx2 in the middle anymore.
Michael Vick, Randy Moss, Devin Hester, and Desean Jackson say hi. Plenty of speedsters in cold snowy conditions. Many players on the patriots like Wes Welker. Kansas City plays fast and has wintry conditions often. It probably has more to do with field surface but I also know some football speedsters prefer grass.Too many teams trying to run the wrong type of offense for the type of players they recruit, the climate And their field conditions. UW recruits big slow guys that run over people. Green Bay gets very cold in January and has a grass field. Yet their GM keeps drafting speedsters from Florida . And then wonders why Green Bay always loses at home in the playoffs. Cold icy conditions negates speed. Too many coaches and GM forget to use their field conditions to their advantage. Don’t build a team meant to play in a dome if you don’t play in a dome. Look at the success of the Dodgers and Yankees . They built their teams to take advantage of their stadiums. Look at Nebraska. They thought that Florida speed offense would win games in Nebraska. They were wrong.
Walters. Mine. Yours. Anybody’s.Whose kids?

Hopefully. They only beat Maryland by 4.The defensive execution, anticipation and ability of those M guards was elite. It is their identity and they are well coached towards those defensive principles.
We will see it tried again. Often. Only a very few will be their equal.
Gaetz isn't qualified for the job of AG. As I stated he's never prosecuted anyone. My belief and hope are that he is rejected largely by members of his own party and Trump has to pick someone else. And even if she were only 17, that's still jailbait and if he did have sex with her, he's as guilty as if she were 12."I've had enough of this so-called "House ethics report" on Matt Gaetz. The underlying allegations are so laughable and flimsy that the only purpose of it is to smear Gaetz.
Here are the facts:
The "report" comes YEARS after the DOJ dropped its investigation into the same claims. Why did the DOJ drop the investigation? The claims hinge on the testimony of two witnesses who have such gaping credibility issues that even the DOJ, which hates Gaetz, knew no jury would ever convict him.
Who are these witnesses?
1) Joel Greenberg, who has been described as "one of the most corrupt Florida politicians of all time" and has literally made false underage sex allegations against another politician before! He accused an innocent school teacher who was running against him for tax-collector of having sex with an underage student. Sound familiar? A judge called the lies "downright evil."
2) Greenberg became embroiled in a series of crimes and faced a possible 27 years in federal prison. One of these crimes was having sex with an underage minor, the same 17-year-old who is the central character in the claims against Gaetz. BUT, even Greenberg claims he didn't know she was underage because she LIED about her age! She is now active on OnlyFans, selling sexual access for money, and has appeared in porn videos. Go figure.
According to a 2023 lawsuit, Greenberg repeatedly begged Gaetz to secure a pardon for him, and when Gaetz refused, Greenberg vowed vengeance.
An inmate who shared a cell with Greenberg told two federal agents that Greenberg told him that the woman “would be willing to adopt Greenberg’s lie in hopes of a future financial benefit." Greenberg admitted to paying the woman's legal bills in a text to a friend!
Yes, this is all ridiculous. Yes, it is all clearly contrived lies. Will the media still use it to tar and feather Gaetz? Absolutely. Gaetz has made a career of picking fights no one else in Washington had the stomach to pick. They fear him at the DOJ more than anyone.
And that's exactly why we need him running the Department of Justice—he's the only one with the guts to fight the most important fights at the DOJ and root out the corruption we've seen on full display these last 8 years.
CONFIRM MATT GAETZ.

It happened numerous times last year!If IU loses by 20 I'm shredding my team because that's bad and I see no positive light to be found.
Not for head coach, but just heard a stat on the Ohio D coordinator, Ohio has only allowed 12 points in the first quarter through 10 games this year. That's pretty impressive.Been a dominate G5 program since his hiring in 2000 but is mid-pack salary-wise in the AAC…
Did u notice HeideYes we played about as well as possible against AL. Well the team balanced that out last night....going the opposite way.
The positives I saw were the team fighting back over and over getting it to 4 & 5 several times. Until the final surrender.
Also was impressed with Colvin's rebounding(8). Which was good as it made up for Heide who only found 2 Rs....whereas prior to this game I thought Heide realized that was his role?? Should consider lower minutes if he is only getting 2 Rs imo.

We are acting like we've never played teams with good guards. Our guards have faced tough competition before and have come out with a victory.
I think we knew there would be some bumps in the road, but we will get better. We have faced 2 great/tough teams. I believe it was a perfect learning experience for our young guards. This will only make them better and stronger.....mark it!
