I don’t think you will see any acc school make any commitment like that until the fsu lawsuit is over. Right now their tv contract ends in 2027, espn can extend in February 2025 through 2036. And their revenue lags $20m behind big ten which is expected to increase to as much as $40m-$60m over time. How do you find that money? It’ll take some time but if espn renews it might be the best thing for sec and big ten as the acc teams will fall off and create clear separation. Florida state and clemson can’t find buyout money I just don’t think people realize how hard it is to make up that kind of money. I mean on an 8 year deal that’s like $400m difference
With all due respect, do you work in the finance dept of the athletic dept and have an intimate knowledge of where Purdue stands financially?

"How do you find the money?"
The money is there, it just depends on what they want to spend it on. Do they want to commit to hiring a winner and pay market value of do they want to try and go low and hope to get lucky?
There are really smart financial minds that oversee the money at Purdue. If Nick Saban said "Pay me $10M a year and I'll come coach Purdue", he'd have a check in hand by lunch time today.

I'll ask again, where did iu magically find $72M for Cignetti?

When your TDS costs you your job

#1 Chump sucks and not going to deliver. His cabinet picks, at least 3 of them are jacked up.

#2 Chump is still a racist. His cabinet picks have no Negroes selected. Kinda feel bad for Tim Scott who after tap dancing so much for Chump wasn't selected.

#3 As long as DEI is the enemy of the republicans, 30 plus percent black support is a pipe dream. However, after 4 years the MAGA bs will be over so there is slight chance of an increase if a normal republican runs for president. Still no where near 30 percent. After 4 years of Chump the last time the black support was maybe 12%. So how after the next 4 years you expect the increase to be north of 30%.

#4 Low voter turnout have historically doomed Democrats in elections. That was the case in this election. There was lower black voter turnout this election cycle compared to the last. Ironically, some black voters were pro-Palestinian and were turned off by the Biden/Harris Israel support. Many of them did not vote. Some may have voted for Chump, ignorantly not realizing that he is very pro-Israel and bear-ish of Palestine compared to Biden/Harris.

A "normal republican" like Liz Cheney?

BS.
Comparing to other non- COVID elections Harris received neary 8 Million more votes than Trump in 16 or 8 & 7 Million than Obama in both his elections.

You can't use the Covid 2020 election as a comparison where jacked up rule changes allowed mail in votes used liberally. Comparing apples to oranges. Geez.

Your opinion and TDS has no impact on Trump's ability to deliver.

Trump doesn't care about having negroes in his cabinet. It's irrelevant. He wants competency. Skin color doesn't matter.
It's no wonder why you're considered the biggest racist on the board.....

Remind me again how you said Trump wouldn't get enough of the black vote this election? Oh yeh....he did get over 20% and it likely won him the election. Or at least helped contribute to his landslide shellacking of Harris.
Blacks are realizing that dems are all talk, pandering and empty promises, while Trump is action.

Why would blacks be pro-Hamas and not pro-Israel? How does that make any sense. Other than the white guilt ridden elitists on college campuses, why would black support Hamas?

What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

I’m so confused when I hear people suggest we might get the same coach back next year. How could that even be? Is he not objectively the worst coach in Purdue history by winning %? This season we already double down on him. Does that mean next year it would be tripling down, or quadrupling down since it’s two ply times two?

If he is retained, that will be the first time in my life I have seen any sports team I’ve paid attention to in any league show increased commitment to the worst product they’ve ever produced while it’s sinking in free fall. It’s impossible to imagine any professional sports franchise making such a business decision. It’s also really hard to imagine any power conference football team doing this either, which just speaks to how screwed up the thinking must be if they retain him.
Cowboys among several.

Florida State this year, if the coach is not fired.

Early in the season, @pboiler18 was insisting that Walters was worse than the Haze. I couldn’t go there, maybe because I subconsciously didn’t want to believe that could possibly be the case. But he might be right.

Biden getting us into WW III before leaving office.

No coincidence this happened after Trump won the election.
IMO Trump was going to get peace in Europe by coming up with a compromise where Ukraine would give up some property to Russia.
That wasn't acceptable to the EU.
Was it acceptable to Ukraine??
Let's backtrack a bit. Biden started the Ukraine-Russia war by agreeing to allow Ukraine into NATO (link). For years, Putin warned that any former Warsaw Pact nation attempting to join join NATO would be considered an act of war. Yet Biden gave the green light for Ukraine to join and Putin started planning the invasion of Ukraine immediately.

So before you ask if giving up Ukraine land is acceptable to the EU or Ukraine, consider: (1) Can Ukraine possibly WIN a war against Russia? And (2), does Ukraine, the EU or the US want the current war escalated even further?

What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

He owned a home in Louisville during the entire time he coached at WKU and Purdue. That's where he's living right now. He poached Purdue recruits and Purdue players after he quit. He now recruits against us to this day.
Not unusual for wealthy people to own homes in different places. His parents stayed in Louisville, and he seems very loyal to them and family - like many of us are.

Everybody recruits against us, and everybody raids our players. And presumably, we do the same.

Purdue VB vs Illinois

I fully agree with everything you said. However, I still believe the Nebraska match, despite the loss, was the best level of play and most competitive this team has been all year. Last night was a great continuation of the positive streak they’ve been on.

Thursday will be a great test and a win would greatly help in the Big Ten standings and for NCAA seeding. Being able to host the first two rounds is such an advantage.
Spot on. Purdue was a whisker away from defeating a top 3 team on their court. I’m no VB expert, just a fan, but that match seemed to me to be their finest hour so far this season.
The 2 losses at home - both sweeps unfortunately - to PSU and Wisconsin were disappointing, but I hope for a much better showing at Penn State this week. They may not win but I would be surprised if it doesn’t go at least 4sets. I think the team is much more settled in than when they played the first time.
Between this VB team and men’s BB, we are blessed to have such fun, talented teams to follow and root for.

And staying on the Walters' path makes it easier for him to recruit against us.

When your TDS costs you your job

You and others here fail to realize historical events in history whether it's a year ago, 60 years ago, or perhaps hundreds of years ago can affect current times. The debate was why blacks tend to overwhelming vote democrat and I laid out why with Barry Goldwater and the republican party "evicting" blacks from the party in 1964. Currently, blacks do overwhelmingly vote democrat. Some say that it is due to LBJ. I disagree, however if that is true then that is the reason why black vote democrat. The bottom line is whether its due to Goldwater or LBJ it is still relevant today because black mostly vote democrat and there was a reason behind the shift historically. History events happened an you can't erase it. It is very ignorant to say that historical events are no longer relevant. Just because they may not be relevant to you doesn't mean that it is not relevant to somebody.

Even with the current events going on now. The war in the Ukraine, Israel/Hamas War, Biden's successes/failures, Chump's successes/failures, etc. will have an impact on the US/World for generations to come.

The Caucasian and the Latino vote matters.
The Black vote?

If you take the Black vote out of Trump's totals, he would have still won. No question. Too small of a group to matter all that much outside of a couple states.

Glad most groups, including even some Blacks, were able to look beyond their typical voting history and vote on solely on policy.
That's real progress.

If Trump delivers during his next 4 years, you're going to see an even larger shift of the black vote over to the Republican side. I've seen estimates of 30+ percent. If that happens, the Dems may never win another election.

I doubt that this happens. First of all, you need consensus, or at least a simple majority. I could see why Ohio St, Michigan, Penn State and USC might agree with it, but why would UCLA and Washington and Nebraska and Iowa and Minny and Mich St and Wisconsin and Illinois and Purdue and Rutgers and Maryland agree to it? They would be voluntarily demoting themselves.

Secondly, all of our heavyweights appear to be happy with the status quo. You never hear a word from Ohio State about unequal revenue sharing. I understand that FSU and Clemson are squealing about it in the ACC, but that’s because the their TV contract is so pitiful.
Uh, it won’t come from the schools… obviously….
