The way they are playing right now? I think so. Outside shooting has been their bugaboo the past few seasons. For now, that seems to be trending in the right direction. Couple that with Fears growing into a solid and consistent floor general as a sophomore, and Carr has really taken off recently (both literally and figuratively 😂)
I just looked up big ten three point shooting, is it accurate that MSU is last in the conference?

Michigan really needs to be in the top25. Not a believer in either Utah State or San Diego St. West Virginia too high.

I’ve only watched a few patches of Michigan State games. Do you think they’re legitimately top 15 good? I don’t disagree with your ranking, they deserve to be there, just curious as to whether you think they’re likely to stay there over the long haul.

Fresh Start Today

Turning the corner into this Toledo game and B10 must see to get back in the W zone;

-Colvin and Heide in the shooting loop, run some plays for them being early option, a few iso

-Cox / Smith combo more

-Smith look for shoot

-DJ emerge!

-TKR make free throws

-Caleb senior blossom
With last night's game in the rear view, lets see how we fared against your must-have list (a good list, btw!)

-Colvin/Heide: [Grade: F] Oof. More of the same with lots of 0's in the final box. Both guys have mysteriously lost their confidence, and by the end of the game were complete afterthoughts.

- Cox/Smith combo: [Grade B-] We ran a lineup with this combo for a few minutes, and it seemed to be clicking. Cox was the first guy to score other than the big 3, and he did some other good things too. Solid D, steady ball handling, and even led a fast break finding Smith on the wing for a transition 3. Not sure why Paint didn't run with this lineup more.

- Smith looking for his shot: [Grade A] Check. In spades.

- Burgess emerge: [Grade C] He had some good (and necessary) PT. Still learning through some freshman mistakes, but I like his fight. He keeps coming back and doesn't hang his head. Good competitor. Will some of the kinks be ironed out by season's end? It's trending that way.

TKR free throws: [Grade D] Shot 1-4 today. Took a step backwards. This has to be remedied or teams may start playing hack-a-Tre if he doesn't improve.

-Caleb blossom: [Grade B] I've been one of his biggest critics this year, but I thought he had a nice game last night. His effort on the glass was particularly solid, and he is playing with more confidence and physicality under the rim. Free throw shooting is improved too, which is nice to see.

All in all, not bad. I think our greatest need at this point is for Heide to become more comfortable in his role at the 4. If that doesn't happen, a TKR - Furst front line is our next best option. I would like to see Harris replace Colvin in the starting lineup. He seems to understand his role better and his confidence is soaring. Also need to get Berg healthy and available for spot play against larger teams, too.

Toledo at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

"That always criticizes." I didn't have to criticize. I just made a simple observation. I said Purdue covering the spread would depend on Colvin and Heide. They had 0 points combined and won by 19. The spread end up at 21.5. So I was right. I also said Smith would easily win the PG battle. Which I was right about.
Lol uh huh

Interesting analysis

Interesting stat, but rather meaningless. Our problem this year is defense and rebounding, not lack of scoring options. Those who keep harping on our "missing" fourth scorer are missing the point.

To put this in perspective, Toledo was outrebounded by Houston (who plays small-ball lineups) 50-29. We were outrebounded by that same Toledo team last night 40-33. Most of those rebounds turn into second chance points and/or fouls against us.

Women BB at Iowa

The ceiling for a hire will be Goshen College or Bethel College from our Administration. But heck, they have the best 3 point shooters our coach has ever seen. Wink.
Nah, you think too big for Purdue. Courtney Delks coaches a high school team right? Alumnus, basketball coach, female.... She checks all the boxes Bobinski will look at.

These Flavor Aiders will believe anything Chump and Faux News tells them to believe.
Does your TDS have you in complete denial? This is the liberal LA Times talking, not Trump:

"In recent days, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has touted her country’s largest-ever seizure of fentanyl and highlighted multiple crackdowns on migrants headed toward the United States. She was speaking to the press, but her most important audience is U.S. President-elect Donald Trump."

Here's Reuters: "Mexico to stick with policies aimed at stopping migrants after Trump win"

"With the new U.S. government, these (Mexican) enforcement measures will grow even stronger," said Jose Maria Garcia, the director of a migrant shelter in the northern border city of Tijuana."

Colvin and Heide yikes

Seconded. Caleb may not be a threat to score, but he did a lot of things well defensively yesterday which also help the team.

I have no clue what is going on with Colvin and Cam though.. watching them yesterday was...... painful. However it sure seems like Burgess, Cox and Harris are coming around and with injuries... Burgess NOT redshirting turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

It sure seems like the youngsters are getting more and more time on the court .. which is fine with me (not that Painter cares :))

Cam and Myles showed tonight how little they've progressed. Furst, Cox, and Harris should be in the line up before those two and should log more minutes by far.

I thought they'd turned the corner but now I'm seeing them both in a different light. 6-8 minutes a game until they learn the offense and defense.

RIght now, neither should be more than 8th or 9th man.

Coaches have some work to do to bring on these supplemental scorers. Can't just be the B3.

When I see the team -- other than the B3 going 0-7 from three, I wonder how good a decision it was to RS Benter?? He must have been woeful on D, as I know he could have knocked down several of those 3s.
