Have starting requirements and minimum number of playing minutes too?

No, really likes Purdue and Painter and has a clear blueprint with Braden what the keys to the offense look like for a PG. Not sure why he went to OTE but he doesn't have the... impulses of Catchings...

Catchings has 28 minutes and 6 points his last 3 games total, BTW.

If Kinney were to commit here, I wouldn't worry about that type of stuff. Just the normal "will someone desperate drop a giant bag" type of stuff

Nope. I would not own any human beings. How can anyone that owned 100s of human beings be the great? Think about it.
Pretty simple. Look at the amazing things they did to build a country and the brilliant minds they had that created the greatest country to ever exist. I'm not going to judge them based on today's standards. That is stupid. And yes, you would have owned slaves just like they did. Because that was the norm. That's what you did when you were rich and powerful.

That ship has saled!

I remember when we first recruited him. And then was devastated when he went to IU. And then joyous when we stole him away from IU.

And then after he arrived, via the portal, he was a big, lazy dud!
Why say stuff like that about a kid on a free public board? Rumor is he did not go to portal, and it was related to his injury-prone situation and his health. I’m grateful he cane here and wish him luck in life!

TKR national player of the week

Needs reliable Mid level 12-16 foot jumper like Brad Miller or Carl Landry. Tighter handle.
Yeah being undersized and post moves not being as valued in the NBA, he definitely needs to extend his ability to hit from outside, the line and have some better driving ability.

He's got the toughness and the skills and I think he'd be able to defend decently well at that level.

This is a great thread to read and follow along (aside from the tragic stories of course).

I'm 50, twice divorced. 1 child- she is 20 and studying pre-med at East Carolina currently. I grew up in West Lala. Harrison HS grad. Purdue grad '98. My dad worked at Purdue, as did my uncle, great uncle (he was a Dean), and a few aunts. Many family members graduated from Purdue as well (myself, brother in law, sister, cousins, etc). One of the unusual things about my fathers job that I tell people... He was the Asst VP for Student Services at Schleman Hall for 10+ years- one of his duties was to lead the graduates from the armory, around the fountain and into the Music Hall. He was ALSO one of the people on stage that you shook hands with when you got your diploma. So if you graduated Purdue from 1990s- early 2000s... you likely shook my dads hand on that stage. haha...

The day I graduated- my sister and 2 of my close cousins were also graduating. We all got to hug my dad on stage that day. It was a really cool moment.

As a kid my uncle was the equipment manager for Purdue Sports, mainly football. Growing up I got to see all the players, help him in the locker room, be on the sideline for a few games (back when Woodson played). For bball games, we used his tickets and sat where the players parents sat. I never followed pro sports (and still don't)- following Purdue sports was the best thing in the world to me- given the access I had growing up. It was very unique and special.

I've resided in the DC suburbs for over 20yrs now- I get back to Purdue for sporting events when I can. Going to the IU bball game in a couple weeks!

BTFU
I'm sure you knew my daughter and son-in0-law. Both are 49 and were cheerleaders.

My dad went to Purdue. All my brothers went to Purdue and two of us dated our now wives at Purdue. I am 56 and have four boys, three of them have graduated from Purdue. Two are in IT and one is a Marine officer. My fourth is a junior in the school of Technology (CyberSecurity). I share this to say we are a Boiler family through and through. I found this site years ago when it was the Old Gold and Black site and fell in love with the passionate Purdue members and their updates/perspective/insights.

I have seen a number of posters come and go but always felt this was a pretty good group of Purdue fans. What I have learned over the years was said above, the older I get, the more valuable "time" becomes. That being said, my prayer is that each of you (good and bad) have a personal relationship with Jesus as each of us will die one day, then life really begins. The 80 or so years lived here will be a blip in eternity and much of what is said, argued, or celebrated will not matter one iota.

I am thankful for this group of Purdue fans and though I have never met any of you personally (at least not that I know of), but I appreciate the comradery among this group. So when one who used to post here no longer does, they are missed. My prayer for everyone is for you to use the remaining time the Good Lord has given you in a manner that brings you the most significance.

P.S. if anyone knows of an internship position for a bright CyberSecurity young man then let me know.
My son just retired from the military with a PhD in cyber security. He had it GREAT before retiring. It's not for everyone, but he is still looking for a job after almost a year. He and I are amazed, but truth

As I’ve said before, I have taken a couple of college level history courses as electives while at Purdue back in the 80s. Because of that I can discern fact or fiction while researching the internet on various topics.

The part of the problem that I notice I that discussing slavery is that white folks are not comfortable talking about it and tend to try to change or downplay the role the US has in the slave trade. Combine that with folks in this forum that are not historically astute.

I’ve actually argued with folks in this forum years ago that the US slaves did not have it as bad as the history books have made it to be.
Brother, I'll discuss it all day. You buy the first round and we'll talk all day.

I'll keep you and yours in my thoughts. It's never easy saying goodbye. Try to keep the good memories close.

Thank you, a bunch. 84-year-old health nut who rode his bike 15-20 miles every day and many days walked on top of that. Masters in economics, voracious reader, great guy. No family except another cousin and myself who have watched Alsheimer's take him in four years. We have to find a cure for such a disease along with Cancer and Heart disease.
