Prediction for Saturday

You really think we sell out the stadium again coming off a 1-11 or 2-10 year. No chance in hell. Do the math. 20k tickets. 80 a pop on average. 7 home games.

You really can’t be this dense, can you?

With that kind of money at stake it’s business …not personal!
Are season tickets really 80 a pop?

I don’t think I’m really being dense by saying I don’t think he gets fired even if it makes sense to do so.

Hey.. the guy self-owned in a major way.

Allow me to appease you without a meme: THAT POST ABOUT AFRICANS EATING CATS WAS A RACIST SELF-OWN THAT EXPOSED NAÏVETÉ AND STUPIDITY.

Hope that is better for your sensitive lil hearts.
I'm not sensitive about it. Just explaining you to others who might expect a higher level of discourse from you, which is not going to happen. Childish memes are the best you can do.

Ukraine/US initiated the process of joining NATO and that did cross a red line. What is wrong with you? Are you in denial?

Nice pretext for invasion.

Ukraine had NOT yet joined NATO. And why can’t Ukraine, a sovereign nation, choose to join NATO?

Holy crap, with some of what I’m reading here we’d still be a British colony and Israel would give its land back to pre-1940’s status.

Being a sovereign, free nation that is surrounded by adversaries is really painful and hard? Yes.

Prediction for Saturday

Allegedly there is 3x ticket revenue at stake. You cannot prove this.

But again, there is zero evidence they will fire him. Zero. It might be a no brainer, but zero evidence.

Prediction for Saturday

There’s about 3x his buyout in ticket revenue at stake.

If he goes 2-10 at best they can’t afford NOT to. Pays for this coach and the next. With regression, it’s an absolute no brainer.

Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. Until 1991, and since then it has most certainly not been part of Russia.

With that logic, are you also fine with Putin reclaiming Estonia, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, etc? After all they were "part of Russia."
I don’t know. If it means destroying the country’s and mass killing of people then probably so. How bad could it be if that is the end result?

It’s been nice getting your perspective but I’ll finish up with this.
Nobody is afraid of Ballo and Rice nor any of the other transfers IU signed. Same coach and same culture mixed with okay guys as mercenaries isn’t creating any fear in the B1G.
Appreciate the discourse!

Time will tell, but I believe that Ballo and Rice are far better than “okay,” both as both players and high quality kids.

Options for new coach

Don't think Urban would come to Purdue for any amount. Couple years ago when we were looking for a coach, he said on that pre game show he was on that Purdue is a very hard place to be successful at
Of course he wouldn’t. If he came back he could name his price and destination. I think he does come back when ND cycles out Freeman.

Purdue is a hard place to be successful. Not a state school in a 3 Team P4 state with limited local talent. We have had better players than our record says but it takes the right scheme and culture fit to work here IMO.

Options for new coach

Hypothetical so play along:
If MBob ran into Urban Meyer or Nick Saban at the local Waffle House and either of them said: "I'll come coach Purdue for $8M/year",
would MBob do it?

Putin said that a sovereign nation joining NATO is an act of war? Color me not surprised and not giving a rat’s behind that a monstrous dictator feels that way.
Yes, I agree with you. Ukraine certainly had the 'right' to join NATO. But when a Hitler or a Putin tells you not to step across a red line, you should expect the consequences when you do step across the red line.

I think that that it is necessary to have both a winning culture and big time talent, which will require a strong budget going forward.

I also think that a team without both of those elements can make a run, but that the odds of that happening are low. It would take an incredibly dominant player that eats up most of the NIL budget; Painter and Purdue developed one last year.
Why do you equate budget/money to winning?

How many of the top 20 NIL deals last year moved the needle for their team? Or were these teams on par based on their history?

I believe it should be used to fill gaps in your roster of need but not a necessity to fill your roster with guys coming in for money vs recruiting guys that want culture/family.

UConn already had culture guys and sprinkled in some guys that bought into what Hurley wanted.

Painter has established a culture/family and keeps players at bay with his winning ways.

Options for new coach

So that's the point. Money isn't a problem for Purdue.
Not as much as most here would lead you to believe. A full RA is worth about $10mil more in ticket sales than an 1/3rd empty one.

You can fire this coach and pay for the next one with the delta in that ticket revenue in selling 42k seats vs 62k seats. Seems like a no brainer to move on to me.

I think we could pay a coach $10mil if we wanted to and he was deemed worth it. Once upon a time Brohm cracked the top 10 highest paid coaches that year after he flirted with Tennessee. Money is not the issue anymore.
