On to the next game

Alright with the ducks coming the spread looks like it's (currently) around 27 points.

I personally think that Oregon is going to run the score up and we have another historic loss... but I am also hoping to be surprised and we are competitive...
An offense that can run the ball and control some clock is the best defense to getting 50+ hung on you.

We can do that..just need to be at our best on Friday.

A 49-24 score line says to me the kids haven’t given up and there’s some glimmer of light on the team. A 56-7 or worse…not good. Again we HAVE on the team now a talent level that shouldn’t be getting manhandled like that

Did Walters call the offense?

The current understanding is he thought about doing it for Wisconsin but didn't feel he was ready. Felt more comfortable doing it against Illinois because it's his defense basically.

For whatever reason, he did a very good job at it.
Here's his best path towards not being fired...fire the DC, get a new one and let them run the defense, call the offensive plays himself.

Maybe it was a one time fluke, but that play calling was as creative as I've seen at Purdue given the talent levels.
It was good for about 30 minutes of the game. Some things he missed down and distance wise but it was better than Harrell…who set a pretty low bar even when he had some success here.

The issue is the D. We win this game going away if they show a pulse at any point. It’s also a lot easier to score against a defense you know. Also a lot easier to score when you are down 2-3 scores at times.

He did a good job. Sadly 18 games in it’s the first time we can say that about on the field results with a unit tied to him.

Ultimately he could be an offensive genius but the D is going to keep us from being good the rest of the year. It’s so bad it makes the rest of the team unredeemable….see exhibit A as what happened on Saturday. Couldn’t get A stop in 2 situations where you absolutely needed one.

I don't care about you I just want your vote

What pod have you been watching that put this idea that we are subsidizing social welfare programs if rich nations in Europe? You've added that to your repertoire lately. Because if Ukraine or NATO?

My reference to "Peace for our time " has zero to do with that. My god. It was about Europeans convincing themselves Hitler was not a threat after he annexed the Sudetenland. I was using it as an example of how you isolationist dimwits think Russia is not a threat after they've invaded three of their neighbors in the last 10 years.
On one hand, you say how important words are, on the other you use the empty words of Chamberlin to show that our actions in Ukraine are justified. You want to have it both ways.

The European countries together are far wealthier than Russia. If they think it is important there in their neighborhood to keep Russia out of non-Nato Ukraine, they have the means to do so - but are not willing to reduce their own high funding of social programs to do so. So American taxpayers allow them to keep funding those social programs at the current levels by providing billions to Ukraine.

Reasons to believe.....

not trying to be funny here but I think it'll be difficult to hold them under 70 (10 TD's), we don't have any pass rush to speak of and Gabriel will be throwing lasers all night to their receivers vs our DB's. It's going to be up to our O to stay on the field for long periods of time and no turnovers to give them extra opportunities
Don’t you dare point out the obvious to this fan base.

They’ll hate you for it!

The offense moved the ball last week but will likely struggle more vs a better defense in Oregon. It’s understandable. There’s a big talent gap here between us and the #2 team in the country. It’s understandable.

Now, what do we do to take advantage of favorable matchups for us? So we make plays when they are there to be made?

That will tell us a lot about this coach, this program and all of their futures.

Bob, asking a question about your position is not putting words in your mouth.

My position is actions are far more important than words, not that words have no importance. In the current election, we can view what each candidate has actually done - Trump as president and Harris as a Vice Puppet who says she would not have done anything differently from a truly horrible president.

How do you feel about these words versus the related actions.

"The Afghan withdrawal was an extraordinary success"

"Peace for our time" (recently cited by you in support of US taxpayer subsidies to the social welfare programs of wealthy European nations)

Not a chance…

But I think you could point to some progress getting stops on D and scoring 3-4TDs.

Don't put words in my mouth. I said nothing of the kind. This about what YOU have said.

Lol. So when a candidate makes promises, you pay no attention because they are only words? You don't vote based on what a candidate says he's going to do?

Who would investigate you? The DOJ and FBI don't investigate libs unless it somehow helps them. How can investigating you possibly help them?

Are you saying you care more about words than actions?
The DOJ doesn't investigate dems? Yeah they do.....and actually indict them.

You heard about Mayor Adams right? Menendez? Rep Cuellar of Texas has been indicted too. Rep Cori Bush is being investigated.

Did Walters call the offense?

BC, yes, CWR called the offensive plays last game and will do going forward per his press conference yesterday.

As the poster above stated, he wasn't comfortable enough with the terminology to call the plays against WI, which seems odd to me seeing how he's the head coach.

His presser was pretty telling to me. Harrell seemingly had free reign on the offense and as the QB coach. Im not sure CRW really understood what was going on with the offense.

Anyway, his offensive play calling and game plan was very Brohm esque. More of that please.
Harrell’s offense was “run four comebacks because I’m doing Purdue a favor being here.”

If Harris came out and said she hates.......idk.....Christians.....you wouldn't care, they're just words? You would add it to your list of default replies and trot it out when it's most convenient.

So when trump uses "words" and says he may have to call out the military to take care of "the enemy within"......do we have to wait for him to take "action" or can we be alarmed by his words? Obviously if we wait it will be too late.

By the way, he apparently doesn't even know he can't deploy the military on our soil without invoking the insurrection act.........which would give him broad powers with little restraint. Do we have to wait for that action or can we get worried now by his words?

It's a ridiculous position that enables you to ignore the lies, the personal attacks, idiotic ideas and authoritarian actions he says he's going to take. It's on the same level as the extraordinarily clueless "I only care about his policies" diversion.

6.5 min of scrimmage yesterday…

Agreed. I think the more actual game time he gets, the game will slow down for him. Last year, I'm sure he was pressing to impress Painter during garbage time. But this year, he should see actual game minutes, get into the flow, get an easy bucket and find some rhythm.
Did….you two just ….agree?

I think Edey can play in the NBA

At this point, it appears that some of the draft analysts are going to have to acknowledge completely missing on this one.

Watching the Pacers’ complete lack of an answer for Edey reminded me of watching the Cowboys try to defend Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens’ power running games a few weeks ago. The Cowboys’ defense was so undersized and geared towards containing the pass that they had no answers to the Ravens’ old school approach. (Then the Lions also did the same thing to them this past Sunday).
Myles has never been a true traditional center. he's gotten bigger and stronger and that's helped, but big physical centers have been destroying him for years. Pistons (past) Andre Drummond wouldn't play for 4 games than play major minutes against the pacers and have 20+ rebounds. Lots of 30pt games against him by any strong post player. Year after year.
