So what was the effect on the NET? How many position difference?
Don't think they've been updated yet.

I understand what he’s saying but I’m trying to tell you guys that he may not be playing those same 20-25 mins this year as he did last year and therefore not have those opportunities as much. I guess he could instill that in practice, so yes that’s deeply missed.
back up was prolly MartinJust listened to Tom Dienhart describing the Jeff Brohm hire while discussing the Odom hire. Apparently Bobinski locked in on him as the immediate favorite and then relentlessly pursued him and did enough to make sure he got his man. He also had a fallback Plan B to be quickly implemented if he didn't land him. He thinks that Odom was probably always Plan A and a decision could be quickly made.

Yes I don’t disagree there. But we’d still be in the same spot. And not sure he’d even get the mins he’s getting at Duke right now or that he got last year.
Seemed to be real happy after the game todayI completely agree that we miss his toughness and leadership. Other guys are gonna have to step up and it’s clear that they are still figuring that out, which is not surprising.
I’m not sure that this team is playing with a ton of joy right now, hopefully they find their way.
I think it’s very possible we might here about staff that’s likely to come with him before the bowl game but not anything regarding any players…When do we find out what staff/talent he's bringing? I'm good with the hire but he needs to bring the whole bag.
You're pretty good at back-pedalingThanks for this but this didnt at all say NET rankings dont mean anything. There are always outliers like Indiana State last year as no metric system is perfect, but the NET has been much better than the absolute joke that the RPI was.
He asked the WRONG guy for evidence!!! Great job!!!![]()
College basketball's NET rankings, explained
Here's everything you need to know about college basketball's NET ranking system.www.ncaa.com
Also:
What is NET?
The NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) is a rankings system used by the NCAA Tournament to assist in seeding teams for the NCAA Tournament. The system is based on game results, strength of schedule, game location and net offensive and defensive efficiency.
Is the NET the only tool used to seed teams?
No. If it were then predicting a bracket ahead of time would be very easy. NCAA Committee members are given NET as one of their tools to help them seed teams. Committee members will also look at the data points that make up the NET rankings and other metrics to help seed teams.
The key really with all of it is, what has the committee always said: Play a good schedule, play games on the road, and win. That's the point of the quads. Also, take a look at last year's NET rankings from the end of the regular season. Why didn't everyone's darling, Indiana State, make the field? Because they were 1-4 in Q1 games. Yet their NET was 28, ahead of 15!!!!! teams that actually DID make the field - as at-large bids, not AQs.

I’d think not until after their bowl game December 18. Hope they don’t just give the head job to the OCWhen do we find out what staff/talent he's bringing? I'm good with the hire but he needs to bring the whole bag.

It has been so far…just need that point guard to also lead us in scoring or close to it. UNLESS, someone besides TKR and Loyer can average double digits (looking at) and/or Heide/colvin.Someone in the "Issues" thread. Has an Iowa handle.
I think it's possible Braden will be better this year without Edey. It won't be "throw it into the post" every possession. This year's team has a lot of possible weapons: Loyer, Trey, Colvin, Heidi, Cox, Harris--could be a point guard paradise.
probably no difference in record, but he would have played when Cam wasn't looking at the goal. Purdue is a very young, inexperienced team compared to many teams. As @pubill stated, Cam's ceiling is higher and he is improving. Mason is going to be a successful person after basketball, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he came back in some GA role with the team. He instilled a fight in the team in spite of some basketball deficiencies.Yes I don’t disagree there. But we’d still be in the same spot. And not sure he’d even get the mins he’s getting at Duke right now or that he got last year.

When PSU was having a slow whistle, he would have inserted himself in the middle of the physicality. It isn't the skill that would be as big a help as the toughness he had that would have carried over IMO. Might not have made a difference in Ws, but it would have helped in previous games and games in the future.

into wins. He complemented Zach very well but with this lineup, he wouldn’t be able to rebound or guard very well. and more then likely not have that wide open 3. Again, love him and am everything he did, but don’t think it’d be the same for him this year.
You are not getting Campbell, many have tried over the years and failed. With him, you make the call because you have to but already working on the next option because you are 98% sure he's turning you down.I didn't watch the press conference last week, but didn't Bobinski say that he was looking for a HC that could bring along staff? I'd think that would have eliminated or placed guys like Mullen, Kelly etc lower on the board. I would like to hear who they talked to - would have been a coup to get Campbell.
