Good news/Bad news.

Feel free to discuss.

I have been saying polls have been lying to the public. This is nothing new. They do that every election.

Typically, posters do so until the last week.......to try to be opinion shapers. And they can get paid early by both parties for faulty polls that tell them what they want to hear. But Dems have more $.....so more polls sway that direction early.

Occasionally in the last week a VERY few polls, expand the number polled and concentrate on the correct ratio of more likely voters through more accurate methodology --- and thus are a more accurate to the final result.

Therefore, they can get paid the next year by saying....."see we had that right on".....when prior to that last week, all fall they had been lying to the people with faulty (on purpose) methodology.

As to wether the methodology of this poll was sufficient, I cannot say as that takes a whole lot more time & info.

Purdue has the money. The line on here for weeks is that we don’t. We do. Walters buyout is cheap.
Exactly. I cannot emphasize this enough. The new TV deal is an epiphany for B1G schools like Purdue. There is a sea change in revenue for Big Ten schools. We can easily buy out Walters and pay top dollar for a coach that the ACC, Big XII and G6 cannot afford. Here are the ballpark numbers for B1G conference payout per school:

2022 - $26 million each

2023 - $60 million each

2024 - $80 to $100 million each

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10121820-report-big-ten-member-schools-each-received-605m-in-2023-sec-teams-got-51-52m#:~:text=Scott Dochterman of The Athletic reported on Monday, schools receiving "between $60.48 million and $60.55 million."

Remember when we had no talent last year?

I mean I don't understand this analysis as if having a couple of NFL level players is all you need no matter how bad the rest of your roster is

Why do you think we were universally ranked last in the conference? Do you think they thought, Purdue has good talent but boy that coach sucks, or do you think they thought, boy they have very little talent on that team?

Yeah coaches are required to recruit. So yeah if you can't do that, you get fired. But present talent and schedule matter too just as commitment to NLI does. IU had great advantages in all three.

Swap Cignetti for Walters. Yeah Cignetti probably wins a couple more games but we are still underdogs to getting to a bowl game. No, Walters isn't undefeated at IU but he's probably on his way to making a bowl game.

More matters than just "coach bad."
Talking about the 2023 roster, which had more than a “couple” of NFL players… Tracy, Scourton, Burks, Theineman, Mock and Hartwig… and possibly others... Cignetti didn’t inherit a better roster from Allen. Nor did Brohm inherit a better roster from Hazell.
Nor does IU have a sizable NIL advantage, in Football.

They took what was there, added to it, and tailored schemes around that talent. They didn’t force “their” schemes onto talent that can’t execute it.

I put more blame on MBob for this fiasco. A 36 year old DC who has never been a head coach was never going to work here.

Three key takeaways: Purdue vs. Grand Valley State

I did notice Will Bergs screens Cox scored 7 points late in the game simply because of Berg's screens. Raleigh and Daniel are great, but they need time to develop. Berg took no prisoners on both ends of the court. Daniel was man handled by a 6'7 division 2 player and looked the part of a freshman. I read everyone saying on twitter that CJ was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think he is great but man it's early. I think this season is Purdue's for the taking if we crown Wille the starter at the 5. At least until Daniel and Raleigh get where they are going. TKR is giving me Carl Landry flashbacks not a bad player to be compared to Carl logged a decade in the NBA then 2 years in China as the highest paid player.

Trump’s real closing message: his kkklan rally at MSG

I assumed you meant the hacks in the msm.

This is why Jeff Bezos wouldn't allow the WaPo to endorse a candidate and now a bunch of his staff has quit.

Why in the world do you think I should trust any of those people? Anyone in the establishment at all? You may want to get on your knees for the government and establishment, I don't. I don't care what any of those people say because they don't care to make up garbage to stay in the loop.
Yup. Don't believe highly educated subject matter experts who are renowned in their field, have served with excellence, and have been immersed in their respective fields for decades, and who personally interacted with Trump.

Instead? Rely on the words of Trump and his preferred reporters, opinion talk show hosts, and internet conspiracy theorists.

I owe you a debt of gratitude. Your post succinctly and perfectly summarizes the effect that Trump has had on so many naïve Americans, and perfectly illustrates why Trump is incredibly dangerous. Generals? Trump and Tucker Carlson know more about the military. Scientists? Trump and Sean Hannity know more about science. Courts? Trump and some other internet whacko must know more.

It's what Trump has promoted, and it is awful.

Remember when we had no talent last year?

The point is, Walters inherited as many future NFL players as most other new P5 coaches do. Good ones supplement that talent, and then come up with schemes to fit the players they have. It’s been done at Purdue, IU, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, etc etc … heck even Oregon State and Washington State are doing better than this group.

You could be right but could be more so he wanted those guys to just get more PT cuz they won’t be seeing much soon. Who knows tbh
It's going to be RB's decision. I had a couple of takeaways from the exhibition as it relates to RB.
  • Painter was clearly trying to allow him to 'separate' from the other 5's with the early playing time, which tells me that this is a real open question
  • Painter indicated in his post-game comments that there was still little separation between the 5's and IMO, focused on the development of DB for this season
  • We know that MP will allow the player to make the redshirt decision. My guess is that he'll encourage RB to take the redshirt, but it will ultimately be up to Raleigh.

Going to be a fun year to root for the Boilermakers! Don't be shocked if they peak later in the year and surprise a lot of folks on the national level. Jacobsen is young, but he's for real. Colvin, Cox, and Harris are ready now! Heide needs to be more aggressive when he gets the ball. Berg, Furst & Jacobsen can combine for 15 & 10 which should be enough with our 5 talented guards and TKR.

Michigan 500,000 more registrations than voters of eligible age.....what could possibly go wrong??

Sorry.

From your article.

What about fraud?

Thomas said he doesn’t fear widespread fraud in part because people have to knowingly falsify a signature.

“Impersonation fraud is almost non-existent,” he said.

Vote fraud happens, but it’s rare. Just this month Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office charged four St. Clair Shores voters with voting twice in the August primary.

In other words, a person would have to commit a felony to gain one vote.

That's one problem with all this fraud BS. In real life only an idiot would risk a felony to commit election fraud. But it makes for a good conspiracy.

Btw, lose. But you preemptively blamed the liberal judge so you're good.
RE That's one problem with all this fraud BS. In real life only an idiot would risk a felony to commit election fraud. But it makes for a good conspiracy.

As the liberal prosecutors have taught all Americans, it’s only a crime if it’s “prosecuted.”

Theft used to be a crime…today…not so much.

With all of the Democrats chatter about Republicans being Nazis…what could go wrong?!?!? Desperate times indeed!

Only 1 other school in the country spends more money on their football program than FSU. Spending money on a buyout isn't an issue.

I'm not sure what your follow question is about cash flows? Are you saying Purdue couldn't afford to buyout Walters? According to whom? Wanting to pay a buyout is not the same as the ability to pay a buyout. Purdue (and FSU) have the ability without a problem.
Purdue doesn't have a money problem either, especially with the tens of millions about to be dumped in their lap with the new TV deal.
Purdue has the money. The line on here for weeks is that we don’t. We do. Walters buyout is cheap. The only reason we’d keep him is if the AAD and AD are trying to save face on the hire and are hoping next year would miraculously turn around.
