When your TDS costs you your job

Tell the Boneman that. He's the one that keeps wishing and hoping for additional black support for Chump and the repubs. However, the black vote does matter, perhaps not as much as the Boneman hopes for the repubs. The black vote does matter but more so for the dems as I said historically, black turnout has historically been a factor for the dems in previous election cycles. The repubs usually win when the overall voter turnout is low.

But turnout was high. See above

I never said the black vote doesn't matter. What I said was that the Repubs don't have to get 40-50-60% of the black vote, because the reality is, blacks are only about 13% of the total voting population and they're relatively concentrated in large urban areas.
The Hispanic vote is 10% more than the black vote, so really, that's the more important demographic and one that has an ideology closely aligned with Republican principles.

What’s our new ranking?

It’ll depend on who lost ahead of us right? It’s not common to go down in rank if you win out the week. Guessing we just move up a few slots, at least ahead of Arizona. Also, not sure we will move ahead of duke, but maybe? It would be a huge drop for Alabama to go below us for a road loss, so not sure we pass them either.
I agree that some pollsters will look at it that way, but that seems like nonsense to me. If a team behind you beats the #2 team in the country, you have similar records and you haven't beaten a team of the caliber, you should slip. If the #2 team in the country loses on the road by nine to a team without a loss, there's no excuse for them not to fall behind them.

When your TDS costs you your job

Your opinion and TDS has no impact on Trump's ability to deliver.

Trump doesn't care about having negroes in his cabinet. It's irrelevant. He wants competency. Skin color doesn't matter.
It's no wonder why you're considered the biggest racist on the board.....

Remind me again how you said Trump wouldn't get enough of the black vote this election? Oh yeh....he did get over 20% and it likely won him the election. Or at least helped contribute to his landslide shellacking of Harris.
Blacks are realizing that dems are all talk, pandering and empty promises, while Trump is action.

Why would blacks be pro-Hamas and not pro-Israel? How does that make any sense. Other than the white guilt ridden elitists on college campuses, why would black support Hamas?
Of course Chump doesn't care about negroes in the cabinet, he's a racist. There are plenty of qualified blacks that he could have selected for some of those cabinet positions. with some of those picks, Chump is sending a clear message. If he wants competency then why di he select Hegseth, Gaetz, and RFK Jr.?

Chump did not get 20% of the black vote. You are skewing the facts to fit your narrative. That 20% is perhaps the the percent of black men and I would guess the younger black male voters that do not not know the racist history of Chump. A lot of these voters get there news from social media where disinformation is rampant. I think a lot of members of this group are pro-Palestinian also. The overall black voters for Chump is around 13% or so. Again, these black voters for Chump did not put him over the top to win. The lack of black voter turnout is what put Chump over the top. Low voter turnout overall is what did in Harris. In addition, the high inflation that many believe was caused by Biden/Harris was a factor. Blacks like many may have voted against Harris due to the inflation and not necessarily for Chump. Or sat out the of the election all together.

As far as blacks being pro-Palestinian, I don't know. Not sure what the percentage is but it can't be too many. There are a lot of white folks that are pro-Palestinian also. Just look at the folks involved in the college campus protests. But yes, quite a few blacks the past year have called into the SiriusXM radio station shows and express their displeasure of Biden/Harris supporting Israel with weapons, money, and support.

Why Trump Needs to Drain the Swamp

Bob… I actually agree with you completely on this… Trump was a poor candidate and somehow the DNC found someone worse…
Biden should have been the transition candidate he claimed to be and declared a year before the election he wasn't going to run. A true campaign might have yielded a different candidate. May not have made any difference.

What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

Cowboys among several.

Florida State this year, if the coach is not fired.
Cowboys? Are you referring to Mike McCarthy after his first season posting a 6–10 record during the weird COVID year? If so, that’s a much higher winning percentage than our current season, and it wasn’t the low mark in the entire Cowboys franchise history like this season is to us.

Also, Mike Norvell at FSU might be having an equally dreadful season this year, however, last year his FSU team went undefeated during the regular season. Still I see no comparison.

Why Trump Needs to Drain the Swamp

Since this is becoming your go to reply, let's address this briefly.

Given Harris' deficiencies that have been pointed out here and in public by trump, I believe it's safe to say there is a portion of the electorate that voted against Harris........just as there were many that voted against trump in '20.

Trump is currently winning the popular vote by about 2.7 million. Biden won by 7 million votes but that wasn't a mandate. This isn't either. It doesn't mean all 76 million voters agree with every trump position.

The Caucasian and the Latino vote matters.

$$$

I don’t think you will see any acc school make any commitment like that until the fsu lawsuit is over. Right now their tv contract ends in 2027, espn can extend in February 2025 through 2036. And their revenue lags $20m behind big ten which is expected to increase to as much as $40m-$60m over time. How do you find that money? It’ll take some time but if espn renews it might be the best thing for sec and big ten as the acc teams will fall off and create clear separation. Florida state and clemson can’t find buyout money I just don’t think people realize how hard it is to make up that kind of money. I mean on an 8 year deal that’s like $400m difference
With all due respect, do you work in the finance dept of the athletic dept and have an intimate knowledge of where Purdue stands financially?

"How do you find the money?"
The money is there, it just depends on what they want to spend it on. Do they want to commit to hiring a winner and pay market value of do they want to try and go low and hope to get lucky?
There are really smart financial minds that oversee the money at Purdue. If Nick Saban said "Pay me $10M a year and I'll come coach Purdue", he'd have a check in hand by lunch time today.

I'll ask again, where did iu magically find $72M for Cignetti?

#1 Chump sucks and not going to deliver. His cabinet picks, at least 3 of them are jacked up.

#2 Chump is still a racist. His cabinet picks have no Negroes selected. Kinda feel bad for Tim Scott who after tap dancing so much for Chump wasn't selected.

#3 As long as DEI is the enemy of the republicans, 30 plus percent black support is a pipe dream. However, after 4 years the MAGA bs will be over so there is slight chance of an increase if a normal republican runs for president. Still no where near 30 percent. After 4 years of Chump the last time the black support was maybe 12%. So how after the next 4 years you expect the increase to be north of 30%.

#4 Low voter turnout have historically doomed Democrats in elections. That was the case in this election. There was lower black voter turnout this election cycle compared to the last. Ironically, some black voters were pro-Palestinian and were turned off by the Biden/Harris Israel support. Many of them did not vote. Some may have voted for Chump, ignorantly not realizing that he is very pro-Israel and bear-ish of Palestine compared to Biden/Harris.

A "normal republican" like Liz Cheney?

BS.
Comparing to other non- COVID elections Harris received neary 8 Million more votes than Trump in 16 or 8 & 7 Million than Obama in both his elections.

You can't use the Covid 2020 election as a comparison where jacked up rule changes allowed mail in votes used liberally. Comparing apples to oranges. Geez.

What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

I’m so confused when I hear people suggest we might get the same coach back next year. How could that even be? Is he not objectively the worst coach in Purdue history by winning %? This season we already double down on him. Does that mean next year it would be tripling down, or quadrupling down since it’s two ply times two?

If he is retained, that will be the first time in my life I have seen any sports team I’ve paid attention to in any league show increased commitment to the worst product they’ve ever produced while it’s sinking in free fall. It’s impossible to imagine any professional sports franchise making such a business decision. It’s also really hard to imagine any power conference football team doing this either, which just speaks to how screwed up the thinking must be if they retain him.

Early in the season, @pboiler18 was insisting that Walters was worse than the Haze. I couldn’t go there, maybe because I subconsciously didn’t want to believe that could possibly be the case. But he might be right.
