When he squares up he shoots well, those off balance , falling sideways or backwards not good percentage shots
I agree but in fairness it’s a 55 footer, not going to make many of those.Braden was too out of control down the stretch. Seriously, what happened to his decision making.
Loyer: just shoot the damn ball! That backwards pass was so stupid.
And why didn't we/Cam/CMP guard the kid on the inbounds pass at the end? At least be near him to be a tad more uncomfortable on final shot, vs WIDE OPEN....
Ooooo he’s gone from second team all B1G to AA?!
What is there to ignore? He shot 9 and hit 4. You can try and disclaimer them but that's not how it works. He still shot 44.4% against UofL and the Zags. I don't know why it hurts you that he's shooting those percentages this year. 54.5% FG, 51.6% 3pt and 91.3% FT. That's good. Now if he could just play a little bit of defense. Like Jordy Hull or Nick Zeisloft level or close to it, he'd be fine.Cool. So we are just going to ignore things. Got it.
Ooooo he’s gone from second team all B1G to AA?!Big shout out to player of the game.....TKR with a huge double - double.
25 pts & monster 13R & 3 A
Fantastic All American numbers again tonight
BS, It's Walters job. and Bobinski'sThere are a lot of fingers being pointed at Walters for losing. I’m beginning to believe it’s not Walters but rather his assistant coaches that need to be replaced.
Look at recruiting. Usually it is the assistant coach that does the bulk of recruiting. Look at Iowa. Their offensive line coach was the main reason they recruited so many great offensive linemen. Look at Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno. They didn’t recruit anybody. Their assistants did.
Look at strength, conditioning and development. Purdue has been terrible at this for the past 2 decades. Purdue simply doesn’t develop any talent it recruits. Look at WR Moore and George K. Moore’s best season was his freshman year, before Purdue tried to develop him . George K came to Purdue with talent. How much did he elevate his game?
Look at game calling. Our play calling on offense is terrible as are our schemes. Our blocking schemes are terrible. Our defensive schemes are terrible. Is that the fault of the head coach or his coordinators?
I look at Purdue and then I look at Nebraska. Nebraska has been terrible since it joined the Big 10. Why? Because its coaches employed a style of football that never matched the type of player that was a typical Nebraska recruit. Their recruiting base is big slow guys meant for run blocking. They were never meant to be a flashy passing attack. The Florida style doesn’t work in Nebraska.
I look at Lane Kiffin and Monty Kiffin. Who is the better coach? It’s Monty! And he’s basically a super guru assistant coach. Tony Dungy was an awesome assistant coach.
Walters hired a bunch of experienced assistants. Their resumes were good. But their schemes are just not working at Purdue.
My suggestions? Rather than forking out more money for the head coach position, Purdue needs to spend more money and bring in some of the top assistants. They could improve recruiting, better player development and better schemes!
The real problem is not the head coach. It’s the total lack of development of our players! We are not elevating anybody’s game to a higher level.
Look at Card. This is his last year. He was better at Texas than he has been this year. I don’t blame Walters for his regression! I blame our assistant coaches.
I can relate well to track athletes. Usually it’s the head coach that accepts the glory and the blame. But it is the assistant coaches that recruit the players and develop them to do their personal best. And when they do, it’s that assistant coach they thank when they reach that goal.
The head coach builds staff. It’s the staff that builds the team.
They will be mostly walk-ons. The new 105 scholarship rule going into next season is also limiting total numbers on the roster. Seems silly the NCAA would care about walk-ons, who cost the schools close to nothing, but Nebraska has appx 65 walk-ons, some who may look to go elsewhere. Most will probably just stay there and become regular students.did i read that Nebby could have as many as 50 in the portal after the season?
Cox I don't know but I think folks are jumping the gun on Burgess. He probably should have taken a RS year although obviously it's understandable why not given the injury and the fact that Berg is limited.Great game but the short leash on the bench scares me....Why didn't Cox play? Burgess?
Yes. Everyone wrote that we need to get rid of the current coach and not offer an alternative. I asked for opinions on these three, and now Coach Prime.Huh ? Is this serious ?
If not we are gutless.Sounds like we are moving on???
Man, I hope so.
Hello Mr. Colvin. Glad to see you on the board.Mr. Colvin says hi.
You lost your fan card long ago crapping on Purdue when they played against FSUYes…I have always been a Purdue alum fan. I become very upset when Purdue does not play well…like the stretch when the Rebels out scored US by 20 points.
I think paint was prob ok with them shooting the 3s and playing the analytics where more than likely they don’t hit as many as they did. However, they did, so hats off to them for hitting them.everyone knew they would chuck 3s except our defense. They were getting boatraced and it got them back to the lead. They didn't really have many advantages unless we turned it over or they hit 3s.
yeah, didn't expect a whistle in this situationThey did swallow the whistle. One of the two guys boxing out TKR was facing him and pushed him in the chest. Obvious and blatant foul giving Ole Miss an advantage. That would have left TKR having to make a foul shotto win the game...
Cool. So we are just going to ignore things. Got it.2-5 and 2-4 is still just that. He still had to shoot it and it still had to go in.

That would have left TKR having to make a foul shotto win the game...I told Kim to watch Ole Miss try to prevent Braden from getting the ball or a quick double because they didn’t want the ball in his hands when they doubled him at half court.
As far as the last shot…I have no problem with it. I told Kim to watch for Myles or Cam because they were going to sell out on Braden, Fletcher and Trey. When they didn’t double Braden on the last possession I like him taking the shot to win it since it was tied and sometimes refs swallow the whistle when tied as they convince themselves the are letting the players decide…and there is no risk of an errant pass and catch if he takes it with a 50% chance of winning and 50% go into overtime where Purdue had a slight edge in momentum, but maybe more fatigue as a team. When Braden let it fly two players went to keep Trey away from the board and not sure in real time and camera shot if one of those was Myles man. I don’t think Beard wanted to double Braden again for fear Matt may have addressed that in the huddle
2-5 and 2-4 is still just that. He still had to shoot it and it still had to go in.Gonzaga - he was 1/4 until he made his second one with 1:57 left in the game—he cut the deficit to 87-69
Louisville - 1/3 until he made the second one with 4:22 left in the game cutting the cardinal lead to 82-50
Very similar to Chris Paul hitting a 3 to cut lead down to 42 vs the mavs
Good point. Purdue attempted twice as many free throws.Purdue was at the line more I believe contributing to 13 less shots
