Isn't that ridiculous? How can there be a true conference seasonal champion doing that. I have been a sports junkie my whole life but it sure is getting harder to watch what is taking place in college athletics.
It is not ideal. We will frequently have B1G champs who are clearly inferior to another team or two because they were gifted a much easier schedule.

Purdue falls to South Carolina 99-51

Scoring 49 point to a CUSA team is completely unacceptable. This loss was completely... predictable. I thought it'd be by more actually. We are extremely extremelyyyyy long off from competing against the nation's best and that's obvious. I would say that we have regressed in about every year CKG has been here. Her first 2 seasons was by far the best and that was with a roster essentially filled with SV's leftovers. This roster is essentially all hers and we are not anywhere close to a .500 level ball club. I had high hopes for CKG - she came in with a lot of passion and was a breath of fresh hair compared to what SV drove the program to. IDK if its the weight or expecations but she doesn't seem to have the same aura about her she once did. Much like FB - our AD took the cheap route with an extremely young and relatively inexperienced HC. Would love to be wrong - but you seem to know what their trajectory in after 4 years - and I just don't see CKG being the one to turnaround this program. But the quesiton is - this isn't 1999 anymore. With the new NLI era favoring teams in larger markets - I'm not sure if teams like Purdue in the market we are in can compete with getting the best players who are making more in bigger markets (USC/UCLA) and yes Michael. Female athletes ARE getting paid and the elite are getting quite a bit of money. Paige Bueckers just unveiled her new Nike shoe.

Biden must have forgotten he pledged not to pardon Hunter

Trump is the biggest political liar because he said Haitians are eating pets, and the media says almost 30,000 other lies. The truth is the town was complaining that 20,000 immigrants were placed in their city of 50,000. The town's infrastructure was strained at the schools, hospitals, police, and other levels, and complaints to the federal level were ignored. Ten people complained to their Congressman about the Haitians eating pets, and the Congressman. Still, the Biden administration did nothing. Trump told it at the debate as an example of over twelve million people who invaded our country and the effect at different city and town levels. This is not a lie because this was told to Trump, and he repeated it. If you look at the other 30,000 lies individually, you will see more differences of opinion and the usual puffing of how a NYC businessman talks.

Adam Schiff is the politician who should be tried and, in my opinion, in prison. He read a lie into the Congressional Record and, when caught, said he was kidding. He made a speech on national TV about affidavits that, when declassified by Grinder, showed the complete opposite of his seditious accusations.

I use to bad mouth players until I realized the player is doing his/her best, the coach is the one playing him or her. Whatever you think of Yani’s talent in football, doesn’t mean you gotta cut the guy down.
I used to take that position, but now that they are paid to play it’s all fair game. Being a paid professional to go to college with free tuition they have to take the criticism.

Are Purdue boosters ready to go big time and is Bo willing?

I agree about the production equals more money BUT the current landscape of college football and even basketball, these agents/coaches are demanding the NIL pot already be in place because if it is not, they feel they are starting behind other coaches. A school like Washington in football's NIL was so bad this year they hired a GM to do nothing but start a program and raise money. Even before the football season was over the two NIL Collectives for IU was sending out campaigns to raise more money. It is the new way of doing business and IMO but I am old, it sucks.
Hoosier for good has cook inc ceo Pete yonkman. It’s going to take those kinds of things.

Why doesn't the University help support athletics financially?

We always hear how the PU Ath Dept is self funded and doesn't get money from the Univ.
Anyone want to do the research to see what other B10 schools have self funded ADs?
If PU is one of only a few, why are we putting our AD at a competitive disadvantage like that?
A very strong justification can be made for the U to help the AD financially in order to build and grow our programs to be able to compete from a recruiting and facilities standpoint.

Hold on, they play Houston tomorrow.
That ought to help.....,......

Ohhhhhh wait....that's ...... Sam Houston.
Nevermind LOL
That was my question to my best friend since being roommates at IU in the 70's ... "guess who those idiots are playing on Tuesday, you'll never guess" .... and he didn't. 😂 When I explained it to him and who they were (noted for football) ... he was dazed.

We will have a common opponent though that even has an IU tie .... Steve Alford's Nevada team opened their season playing Sam Houston State. I remember seeing SHS play Boise State in DII football on the blue field (headache) in the early 1990s.

I don't see why we should pay more NIL for a 1-11 program. Production leads to more pay. Not incompetence. The AD can do whatever they like with paying the coaches but I'm hoping donors refuse to give more to pay players.
If you don't pony up NIL, then you lose your best players (or don't attract new ones) to programs that will. It's the world we live in with college sports now. Gotta pay to play.

The decision to schedule a bunch of cupcakes will really make it tough for you guys to go dancing. At this point, you probably need to go 13-7 in the B1G to get a bid. You will likely have zero Q1 or Q2 wins and the committee has not been forgiving of late to teams with that resume.

Wow, just looked and you only play Oregon, UCLA, Wisconsin, Michigan, MSU and Illinois once. Man, that's about as cake a B1G schedule as can be. Purdue and OSU are the only top tier teams you play twice if I'm reading that right. You might need to go 14-6 in the B1G to feel comfortably in.
Well to be fair you only play 3 teams twice now.

I agree. Is the B1G intern making these schedules or is it computerized? I am so out of touch I had to look up how many wins we have right now, 5 ... so ... I don't even think they make it in with 19 wins before the B1G tourney BECAUSE of their weakass non conference schedule and the Q1 and Q2 results.

Those teams IU plays one time, Oregon, Wisconsin, MSU are on the road, sure L's ... I hate scUM but I love Dusty May and have watched his games this year ... they will come close to winning in AH and UCLA and Illinois are just tough basketball teams where coaching will always win a close game. They could lose all 6 of those games.

By the end of the season you will see an orange glow in the sky from the south, due to Bloomington being on fire due to Woodson.

That's true, but these guys know what they're getting themselves into and if it hurts their feelings to read some negative comments about themselves, then they need to develop more mental toughness.
Probably best they avoiding reading fan comments.

Flag planting

I see OSU and Michigan (the schools) were fined $100K each for the juvenile nonsense at the end of The Game. The SCHOOLS didn't do anything wrong, the police responded (probably) in an appropriate manner. It was on the PLAYERS. Now that there are NIL funds for the players, why not take the $ from there? If a player is receiving $$ and participated in the melee, make him pay a fine. Right?

Liberty QB (Kaidon Salter) to Enter Transfer Portal

Liberty's #1 QB transferring. 5887 passing yards, 56 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 2013 yards running.

More than anything, this tells me the coach, Jamie Chadwell, is moving on. I would think UNC would be his first choice but he is often listed as a possibility for Purdue also. Would be a nice 2 for 1 deal.

Probably going to find a nice NIL payday.

Because if you don't pay, you're not going to get. Either you do or you continue to become just another losing program. Like Indinia was for so many years as they dwelled in the basement. The Haze, The Hope, Walters....common thread same results.

NIL lawsuit - is it time to end restrictions on number of years of eligibility?

Due to injuries Miami of Florida has a TE just completing his 8th year. IU's QB is finishing his 6th year .... don't forget that a covid year was included but that ends after this season. There are a LOT of 6-8 year players in college. I think Oregon's QB is finishing his 6th year, injured in 2021 plus a covid year.

I guess the old 4 years and a scholarship could be a "club sport" for universities .... sad what college sports are turning into, yet it only takes one lawsuit to change everything in any sport.
My point would be you'd just tie eligibility to attendance. You don't want someone just taking one class and getting six figures NIL because they are great at the college level but not quite good enough for the pros. However, if they are taking a more or less full load towards a degree then if it takes six years so what? Injury or no injury.
