Did any of you post years ago on the Steve’s Gridiron/Mr. Hoops forums, back close to 25 years ago? If so, there was a group of us Indy area posters that met for lunch on the NE corner of 465. I believe it was at the old Cheeseburger in Paradise. I remember MDC and db being there, but not many others. Does anyone else remember or attend that. I used the handle Big D in the early years? Anyway, just wondering if any of those posters from years go by have passed.
I don't have any extra information, but just wanted to say that I used to really look forward to MDC's player breakdowns after Purdue basketball games.

I did Mr Hoops and Indy Star back in the day. People would shorten my handle and call me POP

Updated KenPom B1G standings projection

Yeah, Purdue got the gentlest start to the B1G schedule imaginable. But 9 of the next 10 are against teams that are at least .500 in conference play. So we'll see.

It's going to be a wild next couple months. I expect turbulence, but I also think Painter and the guys will find a way.
MSU’s has been even easier

Purdue at Washington: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

I enjoy your perspective on things, go Boilers!
Well, for what is is worth there are two ways a person can be shaped in life to become a better person...not necessarily a good person and obviously not a perfect person. Like a sculpturer, you can have parts of you chipped away or just be remolded. I've had plenty of things in life chip away at me...none I've created. As far as basketball...sometimes I make good guesses... ;)

Braun Eliminates DEI

There up go again assume that DEI only hires non-qualified blacks and minorities. Just like the old Sanford & Son episode. Fred assume thy the black dentist got his degree from correspondence school and the white dentist was professionally trained. So he chose the white dentist. The white dentist was actually the least qualified bd coil not do the procedure. The professionally trained black dentist had to come in.

Before DEI how many white folks have jacked stuff up throughout the years. Yeah I know it’s hard to believe. No one says anything about that.
Diversity is neither good or bad. It is sign neutral and for everything you could show it is good, I could show multiple reasons why it is bad...that is IF SEEKING diversity instead of just having it. The E does not stand for equal opportunity , but originates from Marxist theocracy and so the D & E are bad. The I or Inclusion is fine. You don't go making laws based upon an occurrence of an item here and another one somewhere else because you point to a person and such that if true was either racist or questioned if that Black may have had special privileges in becoming a dentist. THAT is the problem I've pointed out many times to you that support the democrat party and Intersectionality on the whole.

Once you generate a platform that gives special privileges to a certain demographic, it is only natural that another might question if that person was really qualified or how they would rate that person. It is inherent in all meaningful thinkers wondering as a result of DEI. Shut it down and now people that defer from a black or a woman or an Asian and the other minorities that make up more than the majorities, you have justification for questioning if the incident might have elements of racism in it. You want DEI and then don't want the hires questioned as a result...it is illogical. It isn't that far removed from the other woke parts where a male person may identify with a cat or as a female, but then EXPECT others to agree with the insanity. You can't point to another time in your life as screwed up as the last four years on so many fronts

Here’s a solution for you. Why don’t some blacks form their own companies and hire whoever they want. Bezos started Amazon selling a few books out of the garage. Apple was the same way. Don’t have to be rich to build a mega company.

Opra and Jordan are billionaires. They could get behind this if you believe funding would be an issue. Plenty of wealthy black people are in society today.

So again why haven’t some blacks opened up a large company to hire their choice of employees?
Actually minorities get special privileged conditions in opening a business and owning a business. I stated this before. Not going into as much depth as then, but there is a label manufacturer in Michigan (MacArthur) that is a minority company. What they could do was different than Computype also in Michigan. When GM needed a label that only Computype could produce it would be shipped to MacArthur and then to GM so that GM could meet their percent quota from a minority business. So much of this plays on minds that have no idea of reality...just what sound good or what has been presented to them from the media.

That is the benefit of this pretty easy start to the conference SOS wise. Build up a cushion.

Purdue +2.5

Should be a good one - a W today would go a long way toward winning the league.
Excited to see how the team comes out after a 6 game streak against weaker competition.

W or L, how the team looks and competes today will have a big impact on if I see them winning the B1G.

I think we see an A+ Braden game in the national spotlight and get the W. It was nice bonus to get Washington first on this trip to get the kinks out.

You are so out of touch and borderline racist for saying such a thing. There are plenty of black owned businesses in all types of industries out there. And more to come. Former Detroit Pistons guard Dave Bing owned an automotive parts supplier company that supplied to the Big 3.

Currently there are quite a few black owned banks. One United Bank is the largest of these.
