You are a dolt when it comes to basketball IQ.

You just don’t understand.Don’t use tiredness as an excuse for a loss…good teams find a way to beat a team at home who is only 2 games over .500 coming in. We sucked tonight….and have major issues playing 3 (Smith, Loyer, Kaufman-Renn) on 5. If one of those three is off …then it is very, very difficult to win. Painter isn’t helping the confidence of Colvin and Heidi by not running plays for those two. If Colvin and Heidi bolt after this season for a new start and are very productive elsewhere…that would not surprise me at all. Colvin and Heidi are talented…but Painter is not making use of that talent or does not know how , which frankly is very bad coaching!
Your D was good thoughI mean what have either of them done while in there?
I get it, they can't shake out of this without opportunities but they are almost invisible when they get them.
They got 23 minutes of playing time between them tonight and they scored as many pts as I did and only got 3 more rebounds then I did.
Because they did zero in 1st half.Maybe he had a reason not to play them. Maybe.
I mean what have either of them done while in there?Tell that to Painter who didn’t play Colvin at all and Heide a brief stint in the second half. And instead tried forcing it inside all game
I mean Colvin and Heide haven't been playing forty minutes a game. This was a great time for them to step in and pick up their games and the slack.Purdue came off a long road trip. They faced an athletic team with some big guards that made 11 3’s shooting 47% from three. They were hitting crazy shots at the buzzer at a high percentage. Purdue did not play well in the second half and were bothered by their athleticism and physical play. All the critiques here have good points. In the end Ohio State got red hot and beat a tired Purdue team in the second half.

To me, overall team talent has been an issue for most of painters career. He’s a good coach and gets his players to play hard and as a team. But he’s never recruited at a high level and it shows at times when facing more athletically gifted teams.Apparently more talented than Purdue. Clearly we have to have Smith for 40 minutes.
Matt is not running anyone off. LolFirst why did we forget about the 3 and try and force it inside. 2nd can’t continue with only 3 players trying to score all the points and 3rd yes it looks like Painter is trying to run Colvin and Heide off just like last year. Big difference we had Edey to bail him out last year
You are wrong. They arent. Neither can dribble. They can not get past their man. They are 100% spot up guys only and not very good ones at that. Their wide open % is higher than most with all that smith does for them and they still are invisibleGot to start getting some production from these two. Tonight in 22 minutes combined no points and 3 rebounds. They have got to find a way to score. I know they are better than this.
Apparently more talented than Purdue. Clearly we have to have Smith for 40 minutes.True, but OSU made a lot of tough shots. Purdue gave them an opening and once they started believing in themselves they became a much tougher opponent. They are a talented team.
To me, there’s a clear top 3: Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State. In this instance he’s a ND fan, so I get the chest beating - his team did just play in the national championship (and Marcus Freeman gets to rub Chip Kelly’s face in that). But I’m intrigued by the question…is Notre Dame an elite program?
They definitely were an elite program historically, but they fell off after 1988 - the waning years of Lou Holtz followed by Bob Davy.
They had a huge NBC advantage in the early decades of televised football. Thats completely gone now, as their exclusive revenue deal has been surpassed by the B1G and no one is forced to watch nbc as the only game nationally available.
Their independent status and refusal to join a conference has hurt them, as every year they are discounted due to a weak strength of schedule. I’d also argue this spills over into poor postseason performances with a sub .500 record since 2000. They need to play top 5 teams during the season to figure out how to win at that level, and this doesn’t seem like a challenge they’re up for.
They had a great run this year, but I feel they’re an also-ran in the modern game. Alabama clearly deserves elite status, probably the Buckeyes as well. I just don’t see ND being anywhere close, but curious to hear others think after this postseason run.
100% agree. This needs to be a collective group effort. We don't have ZE to bail us out anymore or put us in great spots. Everyone needs to step up for this team to be great.Got to start getting some production from these two. Tonight in 22 minutes combined no points and 3 rebounds. They have got to find a way to score. I know they are better than this.
26 games if u pay any attention!
Apparently a lot.How many shots can we miss at the rim
