Trump Calls For Cutting Military Budget IN HALF!

Solving the waste, cutting the debt and reducing the government attempt to control through power cradle to grave unless you start reducing the blob? I like most people love what is going on, but there are going to be cuts that those affected either directly as in a personal job...or other ways outside of a direct job. If Trump and Elon do not find potential waste to cut...who or what else has shown a desire to do such?
The brainless brothers have convinced of two things.........without even trying.

1. This is about saving money. It's not. It's about remaking the government with their priorities.

2. Because they are actively working to reduce waste and save money, at least superficially, and no admin or congress has taken on the task before, you trust them completely to make the decisions that best serve our national interests. In every post you say no one has done it before. Therefore whatever they do is good with you.

Yeah I figured as much and then you have Purdue accounts on Twitter talking like it is fact which is annoying.
Oh yeah I saw that. Dude doesn’t know anything. Not sure you saw my post beef, but I looked at similar sophomores with similar games played (20+), mins (less than 20) and shots (less than 5 a game).

That’s 211 sophs. Of those only 33 have attempted more than 30 3s. And 20 of those are 30%+. Heide and Colvin are 18th and 20th, but the difference between them and the tenth guy is 2 more makes for cam and 5 for Myles. A lot of the guys ahead of them are smaller schools/schools not competing much.

So I think they’re a little behind, but not as much as ppl think. They’ve had some bad luck (Myles with quite a few in and outs), as well as having their roles change multiple times throughout the year —beginning of year, DJ gets hurt, start a few games, come off bench, don’t always play same amount of mins. I’m thinking they stay and are tons better next year.

They are 6/13 from 3 last 3 games, so if they can shoot around 35-40% combined from 3 for us from here on out, it’ll make us that much better.

Just my overly optimistic opinion, of course.

Wisconsin at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Most athletes are taking sports marketing, business or education. They aren't taking 6 years. They are getting their masters in 6. Give em 4. If they want to continue, it's on their own dime. If it's taking kids 6, what have those kids been doing with their time? And the schools need to be looked at for wasting kids time so much with useless garbage.
If you really believe this, then your rankings system makes a bit more sense.

UCLA's NIL apparently is awful. Cronin is a good coach. I don't know if he could attract talent to Bloomington but having Top 5ish NIL money at Indiana help him. It'd be very interesting. He isn't my first choice but any means but I'd take him over Woodson obviously.
Gotta pay that $16M buyout first

But if he had to sit out cuz of stress at UC, no way he survives IU lmao

The AP has a proud history of standing up for freedom, so I can understand your outrage.

So? I gave you the reason. The same one the trump admin is saying loud and clear.

Swear to god, if you couldn't deflect you wouldn't post.

This admin is saying to the media and the country...........We make the rules, no matter how completely freaking stupid they are in this case. You don't do what we say, you will be punished. Just like trump is doing to other countries. It's like parenting in the '50s.

Trump is punishing the press for not accepting THE CHANGING OF THE NAME OF A BODY OF WATER.

How does fit in with your "pay no attention to what he says, only what he does. "? He said it, he did it, and it's completely insane.

You can defend it or just stfu. I don't about your deflections. If you're good with this just say so. I know Bone is.

My point was jones was a great defensive players at SIU as a freshman!
No, you said Purdue fans didn’t know that he was a great defensive player
My point was against grabbing someone from the portal just to fill a need when signing a high school player could be just as good or maybe even better.
Painter did that this year.
My point is that usually portal players are a 1 year fix. They are nothing more than a one and done player who either wants big money or couldn’t beat out the players to start at his last school.
Please see such examples as Wisconsin and Auburn that prove this 100% wrong.
Ask yourself, why do Purdue players enter the portal? Purdue football players enter because they want money and a chance to play for a winner. Purdue basketball players enter the portal because they couldn’t beat out the competition.
Hunter and IT couldn’t beat out the best PG in Purdues history/a top 5 PG in college bball in the making. It makes sense why they transferred. Hunter also had an extra year, just like Morton. Newman too but he just couldn’t get his shot going. Same as wheeler.
If Myles were to enter the portal, what would be his reasoning? Basically he got tired of coming off the bench and he couldn’t beat out Loyer.
He started 8 games this year alongside Loyer. He’s not leaving.
Think about it. Would we or Painter want to add a player who only entered the portal because he wasn’t good enough to start for his last team?
I trust painter to take the best player for the team, whether he started or came off bench. Still don’t get your obsession with thinking players want to “start” and that’s it.
And does Purdue really have the NIL money to use and attract a real portal star like Dickinson and the guy from UW that Kansas paid out?
Again. I trust painter and staff to make good decisions. Dickinson and Storr were not Purdue guys. And no one knows how much NIL any school has. Painter has said Purdue can pay.
With all that said, some incoming freshman demand as much money as portal players do!
Yeah but if you’ve been paying attention, that’s why Purdue doesn’t land 5 stars.
I’m not against adding portal players. I just don’t believe they are as great as some of you believe them to be. Look at Gillis. He was supposed to be one of the better portal players available last year. Just ask a Duke fan their impression of adding Gillis or adding another high school recruit like Flagg. By adding Gillis, Duke probably informed a 4/5 recruit they had no room for him. I doubt that made Duke fans happy if they turned away a top 50 high school player to add Gillis.
Gillis was the 91st ranked transfer last year. So, seems like you’re wrong in your assessment. Duke fans on X and Reddit love Gillis.
And look at Morton and Newman and Hunter and IT. My bet is their schools are now wishing they hadn’t added that portal transfer.
Colorado state, Butler, WKU, FGCU and Oklahoma State aren’t exactly powerhouses and didn’t really lose anything by adding them. Probably improved to be honest.
So back to Jones! He was great last year. He was a portal addition. Painter does look at the portal for players. He just didn’t last year because he thought he had a commitment from Catchings and Harris.
And 4 other freshman
I still can’t believe the timing of Catchings decision to decommit . There had to be something there that Painter will never make public. If Catchings had not signed, I believe Painter would have looked to the portal.
We were oversigned with catchings. How did you not see those posts?
Catchings screwed us over big time! I’m not sure why and I’m not sure what he was thinking. But yes. Catchings intentionally screwed us over.
He did us a favor actually.
He could have at least stayed a year before transferring. Was BYU even one of the schools he was considering when first being recruited? And now that BYU has that #1 prospect coming in, karmas has taken place.
No. But they offered decent money and were one of few teams that had room since he waited so long. KC will transfer out somewhere else or get drafted second round.
Given a choice of adding a portal player or a top 20 one and done high school player, which would you rather have? There are risks both ways.
Wow, never thought of that!
I look at these we need a portal player posts much like I look at the fire painter posts. The portal player posts never identify the player or the position. They just say we need a portal player. What you need to do is identify our team’s deficiency and identify a player that would fix or improve that deficiency.
I believe you need to re-read these posts. They have clearly stated positions, deficiencies and even throwing out names of players that we’d all like to see.
At the moment I see three deficiencies. Our guards are playing terrible perimeter defense. And our center position is not guarding the basket or getting rebounds. and I believe we need a taller forward to play the 3 rather than a guard. Jacobsen should fix one of those deficiencies. Can West or Benter or Harris fix the other deficiency?
We shall see.
We have West coming next year. I believe we have room to add 1-3 more players. I expect 1-2 players will leave.
With scholarships going from 13->15 we could add 2 more with everyone back, Furst graduating and west coming aboard. Painter could also choose to make some walks ona into scholarship players. Sounds like Waddell is leaning on staying. Berg may leave tho
I believe Painter is waiting until the end of the year to worry about who to add via recruiting high school players or the portal.
Unless someone de-commits, there won’t be any high school players to recruit
I haven’t really looked lately to see who is left uncommitted/signed from high school. I also haven’t seen any high school recruits with Purdue in their top 5 that haven’t already committed or that Purdue was pursuing.
There aren’t any. We are on to 2026 recruits.
If Sisley decommited and became available, would you rather have Sisley or a portal transfer?
Portal. Need to go all-in next year. Sisley is a 4 year player and doesn’t provide the help we need right away for next year.
Personally I’d rather have Sisley.
Why?

I've never liked the guy. I put him in with those of Pearl, Sampscum, and Self and others with a questionable reputation. Whoever IU gets will struggle with the Knight curse that's still in place.

Too late!

You have now openly admitted that you now consider Trump a complete fool who is incredibly dangerous for America and all of the values that America stands for.

I think we can both agree that he capitulated to Putin when he said that “Ukraine started this war“.

Glad you came around!
Reverting to your fallback position, I see, which is to lie - right HoosierFanJM?

On a side note have seen some folks starting rumors that Heide and Colvin might be looking to transfer.

I don’t see it happening with Colvin being a legacy but could see Cam moving on.

Hate seeing people leave when times are tough but I get it in the new world.
Trilly hasn’t really been that great of a predictor for anything Purdue. Said DJ was going to wisky and was wrong. He said something about potentially Heide back in December. All fluff.

Luke…the Force might be with him!

Great question! I grew up in Huntington, back then Marion was "The Force" of the region. Always won Regionals. have no idea how they do now.

I remember watching that Marion team with Lyndon Jones and Jay Edwards. Also, a feisty kid named Skiles with Plymouth before that.

Ok, I'm off to the tar pits for a refreshing soak.......

The more I learn about CBO….

I think Barry Odom at least has a floor of Danny Hope, which is miles ahead of Walters/Hazel. He might not be a great fit/coach but he's competent and can succeed with P2 resources to at least a limited extent.

Now that's not a ringing endorsement, but I will (and I think many others here will as well) take that in a heartbeat over the 2024 season.
Meh. I think he’s a good coach and knows how to win. He showed that at UNLV fairly obviously. Now the caveat there is that he won at a resource rich place relative to their conference competition.

Obviously he will never have that here.

That said, a guy who can recruit good players, puts a disciplined team on the field, scheme some advantages and win 5-8 games here should be fairly well lauded by the fans.

Until we invest big donor money (which is wildly unlikely since we don’t have it) this is who we are as a program. That said, I don’t think anybody here would complain after the Hazell and Walters regimes.
