I guess this revolves around whether that was accepted medical practice back in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.

Go to a game that you really have no interest in and you will find hot takes there as well.

Understand that hot takes don't have to be taken personally. Those hot takes you remember were probably not addressed to anyone in particular...just a statement.

Most of the takes are good, there’s like 3 people that every game act like Purdue should be perfect, I think 1 person has 2 accounts he posts under, usually one post quickly follows the other of another name. Also, I realize people have opinions, however, don’t tell me you’re a Purdue fan when your stating how TKR should be benched the entire second half and the reserves need to play the second half, if Painter does that he’s giving up the game which he’ll never do. Also, I read your health stuff, get well buddy!

Exactly, sometimes guys aren’t hitting shots, to their credit they were still playing defense instead of sulking. I rarely post anymore in the game threads, they get to be to much, I lose focus on the game. I know this TKR is part of the big 3 that needs near 30 minutes a night.

Hmm. No where did I say that Painter went "looking for Jones to fill the shoes of two players who didn't contribute a ton at the end." Multiple seasons he went looking for guards to fill gaps due to graduation and transfers. It is repeated history and well documented. Maybe you were too young and weren't watching Purdue during those seasons?

I’ve argued on this board for years that all Caleb Furst needed was more minutes. Not even a Mr. Basketball can do crap in 180-second cameos. Besides, stats rarely do him justice. He’s a 6-10 dude who’s very mobile with a nice touch, quick hands and superior intelligence. His presence in the paint alone alters drives and shots, and his ability to quickly position and block out big men routinely sets up teammates for rebounds. And do take notice of his repeated flicks out to Smith for steals and rebounds. Take Buddy the Elf and Angry Elf to Rome and watch them pick pockets.

Too bad he’s too nice of a guy to tell you people who wanted him gone to stick it. Be glad he stuck.

Good post. Two things:

1) CMP plays his #1 player, and the 4 players who play best off that #1 player, the most minutes. Unfortunately, Furst lost minutes to the 2 time NPOY, AND Gillis, who played better off of that NPOY, due to his 3 point shooting.

This year, Caleb IS one of the four players who play best off of our #1 player.

2) you hear about players who “live in the gym”. That’s not Caleb. He “lives in the classroom, the lab, and the library”, as a Biomechanical Engineering student. Which is really what this whole thing used to be about.
His dream is to be a doctor, not an NBA player. Which is awesome.

It would be crazy to value a style of play over maximizing where you have elite talent. I wonder if fans who complain about a post-centric offense (which, btw, I think we've moved away from this year and last year) fail to recognize how fortunate we've been to have IH, Biggie, Zach, TW, Trey, etc.
