do we have any room to add some players? They'll likely be able to get out of their commitment and play this year. Also, it'll make available players previously committed for the next year or two..

I think unless CMP can totally vent a player as being clean from a program that is linked to this at all, he shouldn't add any current or potential future players that were verballed to those schools.

If there is a player that fills a potential need/role and fits in with the culture that CMP has worked hard to build with his team...bring that player in what ever class it is. As a fellow Boilermaker, I'll welcome any additions CMP brings in to his program and cheer them on.

Personally, I wouldn't mind CMP adding another dead-eye shooter in the class similar to that of Sasha.

As Treed has posted on another thread, the team chemisty would need to be supportive of any adds from a tainted program ... and it sounds like they would not be supportive of most players who committed to a tainted program ....

A former Keady player that I am lucky to call a friend of mine (grew up absolutely loving watching him play) said he was offered money to go to another school but came to Purdue because 'I knew Coach was going to make me a man I could be proud of when I got older and would take care of me no matter what life threw at me.' THAT is what I want out of the coaches that represent my university and from what I know and understand about Coach Painter...he does everything he possibly can to help a young man out and that is very evident by the young men who have transferred schools (Barlow and Scott) and said they either regretted their decision or that Coach Painter has continued his support of them.

To believe this stuff doesn't go on at at least half of the major schools in basketball and football is just shoving your head in the sand and being irrational. I believe a program like Butler shows that to truly improve your stock in the world of college sports takes a long time, dedication, and some luck to do it that right way. Seeing basketball programs like USC (second major violations in less than a decade) and SMU and football programs like Baylor are clearly breaking the rules when it is a matter of sudden success to the point of leaping past their historical success rates. A good example in college football is that of Wisconsin and Barry Alvarez and there has been a clear improvement over the last 20 years.

Do you know all that Painter and Foster poured into AJ? It was a LOT. And it came from love. They wanted him to become a great person... not a great basketball player. There-in lies the difference.!!!!!

I think bringing in anyone connected with these Universities would be difficult as it would be tough to clear them. Bringing them in would be very risky.

The NBA G League (or what ever the hell they are calling it now) could be the beneficiary of all this fall out.

Yes!!! If the general public knew HALF of what those two poured out for AJ, they'd make a damn 30 for 30 about it and leave people in tears!

And THIS is what totally pi$$es me off when that small group denigrates Matt and says we need a better coach .... ok, but we will never get a better MAN ... and Todd deserves to be included.

For everyone who gives credit to the coaches, Todd is an absolute all star when it comes to being their academic coach. I have heard stories of that man being up through the night to help these players get the help they need and ensuring they are on top of all their classes through the huge travel that do every year...and Todd absolutely loves what he does.

He is so essential to the success of this program .... and a man of integrity and love .... a special human being ... it must have something to do with the love of horses!
