Just asking for your opinion or who you think they will hire! We all know the names being thrown around!Maybe check the recent threads before adding to the IU ownership of mental real estate around here...
With Dakich, Smart and Fife as assistants. And Pat Knight.Steve Alford
I'm watching Clemson tonight and have to say I love the way that team plays. Very Purdue-like.Brad Brownell
He’s an Indiana boy (Evansville) and a good coach who gets the most out of his players and team! I actually think he could be successful there so really don’t want them to figure out he could likely change their trajectory.I'm watching Clemson tonight and have to say I love the way that team plays. Just watched an interesting podcast with Crimson cast a guy named Galen Clavio made a compelling argument that the one college coach that meets all their criteria is Matt Painter. He said they could double his salary to $10 mill and show him all their NIL $$ he might seriously look at it. I know for a fact he grew a Hoosier die hard. You get one shot at calling it and only one opinion! Go.
Both fan bases would explode 😂 😂 😂Just watched an interesting podcast with Crimson cast a guy named Galen Clavio made a compelling argument that the one college coach that meets all their criteria is Matt Painter. He is probably the most underpaid coach in NCAA in relation to his accomplishmentsNever say never, but I couldn't image CMP leaving Purdue for another school. I have to BELIEVE that Purdue will grow Matt's compensation with continued progrsm success.
Never met the guy on person, but he strikes me the kind of guy who is humble with his measly salary. Guessing he is a no-car payment / no house-payment kind of guy.
NeverNever say never,
We all know that he grew up an Indinia fan. My assumption that had to do with RMK more than IU. Many IU fans would not want that same type of leadership today and some would say CMP is just meh.Just watched an interesting podcast with Crimson cast a guy named Galen Clavio made a compelling argument that the one college coach that meets all their criteria is Matt Painter. Hopefully Painter can change Sisley’s mind in coming to join our team next year.We all know that he grew up an Indinia fan. That all changed.
Yeah for sure. But no worries if not. We can hit the portal for a more ready player.Hopefully Painter can change Sisley’s mind in coming to join our team next year.
Has he coached anywhere or are you just throwing out a player from their past?Uwe Blab
Deep down inside they know we are in a great spot and they are not. That bunch deserves it.

It seems that IU fans still consider IU an elite basketball school and that coaches all over the country (such as Bred Stevens) are falling all over each other to get this job. They don't seem to realize that ship sailed years ago and they have tried multiple coaches and many millions of dollars buying out contracts in hopes of finding the next Bob Knight. Maybe they will now think of themselves as an elite football school.I would be concerned if somehow they could convince Brad Stevens to leave the Celtics but I do not believe he will. I personally am torn between two names but will post my opinion after a little more research.
If one looks at historical performance? Then IU is elite in basketball but nowhere near that in football. It seems that IU fans still consider IU an elite basketball school and that coaches all over the country (such as Bred Stevens) are falling all over each other to get this job. When you have Top 5 NIL money, one of the largest and best fan bases in the nation, a Top 5 venue, Big Ten money, national TV time... Yea it's still a Top 10 job.It seems that IU fans still consider IU an elite basketball school and that coaches all over the country (such as Bred Stevens) are falling all over each other to get this job. Why the constant struggles to get a good coach? When you have Top 5 NIL money, one of the largest and best fan bases in the nation, a Top 5 venue, Big Ten money, national TV time... Yea it's still a Top 10 job.
1 said no and then it was given to Woodson. Why the constant struggles to get a good coach?
How many coaches said no before you landed on Woodson?
Just one? Hmmm1 said no and then it was given to Woodson.
Definitely your opinion that they’re a top 5 venue and best fan base. How do we know they have top 5 NIL money? I think you’d be surprised at how much money schools have and I wouldn’t be surprised if IU doesnt have top 10When you have Top 5 NIL money, one of the largest and best fan bases in the nation, a Top 5 venue, Big Ten money, national TV time... The same "best fan base" that booed their team multiple times this year at that "top 5 venue"When you have Top 5 NIL money, one of the largest and best fan bases in the nation, a Top 5 venue, Big Ten money, national TV time... Yea it's still a Top 10 job.
