Why I don't like Painter

When I was in college I took a calc 3 exam. I studied for thirty hours that week and when I got to the test I could only answer 4 of the 12 questions. I guessed on the rest of the exam ended and ended up getting 8 right, with the curve I got an A on that test. It wasn't luck that I passed that exam but it was luck I got an A.
I guess you were just "lucky" the prof was so forgiving with the curve.

I don't ever remember having a calc test that was multiple choice. All my calculus classes required doing calculus problems and required real answers. I think I had a multiple choice test once in Sociology though.
IKR?

I was in school at the same time as Matt at Purdue.

I knew him them and I know him now and I will say not many people care about Purdue more than him.

He is trying his best and besides some minor set backs personally for him, he is taking Purdue to new levels both internally and externally.

Believe in the process and know that good things are to come.

Purdue does not need the blue chips to be great......it is a team game and Purdue has proven a tight knit family environment with everyone playing their role and being accountable will get us championships.

Sure if we can get the Blue Chips the process is easier, but either way no guarantee.

Keep your head down, work hard, play hard and stay focused and good things will happen.

The Post season stuff is a combination of a great team and luck.

That is proven by our record against IU head to head....we have had the better teams by the win loss record, but haven't had the luck to go with it in the Big Dance.

It will happen soon because Matt Painter and his staff works tirelessly to make that happen.

Believe in it and it will happen...support positive 110%!

Boiler Up!
Rubbish after rubbish. Personal endorsement from a personal friend. no conflict of interest there.
CMP is a pretty damn good coach. But he is not taking Purdue to any next level. Period.
No, we are not going to get to the mountain top without blue chips. Period. We aren't ever even going to get there with CMP.
I am okay with that. He is still a pretty good coach but I'm not delusional about his ceilings like his biased friends are.

CMP averages (Purdue games only) almost 22 wins a season. High of 29 and lows of 9, 15, and 16. All other seasons were 21 or more wins (8 out of 11 seasons - 21, 22, 22, 25, 26, 26, 27, 29).

What is the next level? Sure I'd love to make a few post season runs, but these numbers are pretty impressive.

You are the one who seems childish when you don't understand the difference between a serious comment and a troll.

What seems obvious is that you are unsatisfied with life and your career. Given how often you comment on the rivals forum and your foul language.

I would guess mid thirties, mediocre marriage, and a forgettable career.

If you played basketball it was most likely at a small school and you were given spot minutes.

Your are the type of guy who would credit CMP for the Michigan State win fully believing that our team played great. When in reality Rapheal Davis went unconscious from deep and as a result we won purely through luck.
Kind of what happened with UALR at the end ...

From my experience, any time some idiot decides he needs to tell you how good he and his "squad" are, there's a pretty good chance they suck. If a guy can ball, he'll show it on the court and be secure enough off the court to not have to bring it up.

The next level is the one a few steps down from Izzo...recruiting at a high level, consistently, and being a threat in the post season.

Well actually I am. I have a mechanical engineering degree as well as a business management degree. I have 31 years of real world product engineering and also managing the same manufacturing plant for a private company. I also hold several technical certificates from plastic molding and steel die manufacturing. I had all the required math as well as the economics math from my business degree. I never had any multiple choice ever. I guess the younger kids need help to make grades rather than learn how to do problems.

That is doubtful. I would say the more probable explanation would be that Purdue likes to grade material quickly and maybe the invention of the scantron. But someone who has 31 years of experience should be smart enough to figure that one out.

I agree, but Buckner was before my time though so I do not know much about that. I am very disappointed with our offensive movement though I don't know how a coach thinks he can be successful with our current offense.
Didn't Painter run the exact offense with Hummel, Johnson, Moore, and Jackson? It seemed to be a pretty efficient offense at that time.

It was closer to it then. I'm not sure how much was the players vs the coach. Robbie and company seemed to have a much better basketball iq than some of our recent players. But even then I felt like Purdue didn't do enough off ball screens and cutting.

Dude just stop. You're in an area you clearly have no idea about.

Wow!?
When I had MA161, 162, exams were almost exclusively multiple choice with the same choices of -infinty, -1, 0, 1, +infinity, none of the above. to get full credit though, you did have to show various steps of work (Or written explanation of any shortcuts)

That team ran a beautiful offense in 2009-2010 (at least until Robbie went down). The ball movement, player movement, and screening were tremendous, but that had different personnel strengths than this one. That team ran a 4-1 offense with a highly mobile, good shooting center who couldn't hold a low post position. Painter adjusted the offense accordingly.

I think that Painter has smart players on this year's team as well, however. The only returning regular who frustrated me with his decision making last season was Swanigan, but I think that Caleb is a smart player who made a lot of freshman mistakes. If he can clean up his game and Carsen Edwards proves to be a quick learner, I think that this will prove to be a very intelligent team, much like 2010. In fact, I think that this will be Painter's best offensive team.
