Who plays the 3 and why?

Interestingly, during Painter's talk with the media yesterday after day 1 of practice, he mentioned the logjam at the 3 and included Myles in that conversation.

I feel if Loyer is slumping and shots not falling Colvin is the perfect guy to get a chance to see what he can do
He, Lance and Fletcher are the only ones that can play the 2 I believe. Lance is going to log some minutes when Braden is out as well at the 1, and so yeah, I think we see Myles some at the 2. Fletcher needs rest as well. I would like to see Braden at 27-32 minutes a game and Fletcher slightly less. As someone pointed elsewhere, Myles minutes will be probably dependent on how much improvement he makes on D. He may have already made great strides in that area, but he is going to get playing time...no doubt

It's a wide open position (basically) and Myles has a real talent. No surprise here.
He's big enough, and jumps like a deer so he aught to be able to help on the glass.
I like him matching up offensively on 2's but no idea if he can guard them.
May also hint that Fletcher and Jones will be playing big minutes and not enough pt left for Myles in the backcourt.

Tkr won't play much 4 against good teams with athleticism....I think he's good around the bucket but won't do much underneath with edey there....not fast enough to guard most 4s and switch onto guards...he'll end up playing backup 5 to Zach mostly....he'll be the best backup 5 in the country this year...heide is a good shooter, he'll play 4 with edey along with Gillis...furst will see his minutes squeezed....he's not a bad player but just doesn't fit well with edey with his reluctance to shoot...it's all about the best fit with edey on the court....
Agree totally

Why do you think that Tre is only a 4? He played the 5 almost exclusively last year and he started at the 5 in Europe. And for those that didn't watch TKR's game was nearly the same in Europe as it was last year.
Yes Trey was down on the blocks a lot. He did move out to the perimeter some and drove the ball some. The main reason (at this time anyway) many think Trey is only a four is because that is what Matt said...and Matt has his hands on the tiller.
