What nobody is talking about.....

This game will probably decide NPOY. It's a match up of the 2 top players. Biggie knows this & IMO this will push him to have his best game of his career, which makes me like our chances. I think Mason thinks he already has it won.
Heard most if not all votes are in by now, so the tourney games do not matter. Not 100% sure if this is correct though.

I mentioned it a few days ago...same stage even if playing different instruments. Mason scores and makes passes that others score. Biggie scores and gets rebounds that may or may not end up bing a score, but biggie's stats are all ON HIM...Mason depends on others to score to get an assist... and with the protection of guards today...it would be a travesty to give it to a guard with Biggie's numbers...but then we know about the media...

Biggie is everything you want in a college player...is Mason...I don't know? Maybe he is..maybe he isn't?

There's still several major poy awards not decided. I believe I heard some podcasts talking about how the votes aren't all in and this game could swing it.

If biggie and purdue take this one, I'm guessing he will get his due one way or another

I think it will push him, Biggie, to do too much. I've sensed this a few times this year when Purdue struggled. It never works well when a player tries to do more than he should.

Well,......"the BIG TEN is down this year"...................so you tell me how this bodes for Swanny. I hope the "recent" success in the Tourney changes this in his favor. This kid has worked as hard on his body, his game, etc. as any kid that I've seen. I used to picture Kramer as the man in this PU statue

but now I think the Hammer has been passed to Biggie! He gets my vote. Just keep winning big fella!

You're probably right 4purdue but from my perspective, I would take a Purdue win over Kansas, even if Mason outplays Swanigan.

I would say they both are the kind of players which would be desired by any college team. Any Purdue fan on here that would say they wouldn't add Mason to Purdue's roster right now if they could, would either be lying or deluding themselves behind gold and black tinted sunglasses.

Here's a total hypothetical. You have to choose for this year's team: Mason or Swannigan? Biggie for me (though admittedly I haven't watch much of Mason).

nobody is saying if a team would want them or not...it is about NPOY in a college setting. it is about having the individual play, and within a team concept in "the game of life"...and Biggie excels at all. If it were in a pro setting, I would ignore a college setting, but "IF" we have "ANY" purity in collegiate athletics, then there are many other things in consideration that should touch various virtues that can inspire others in college...outside sports. The college game has a lot of great players...that is a given...now what? All these players are graduates of high school and I assume high school athletics if in the USA. If life lessons are not taught in sports and valued then there exists no reason for sports in our schools as it serves no functional purpose for the taxpayers. Not a Dicky fan and don't have his speech many years ago at a 5 star camp that was quite good in talking to ball players...but here is a little...

Where would MSU be with Biggie as well?

I think the success of the B1G in the tourney does bode very well for Biggie and that is a very good point you make. Had many of the conference teams flamed out, people could have looked at Biggie's numbers being 'inflated' due to a poor conference year. Now that it is apparent that the conference was just as strong as it has been, Biggie's numbers look all that more impressive...considering his numbers have very rarely dipped this season. If Biggie and the Boilers can win on Thursday night AND he grabs a 20/20 in the process, give him the damn award!

Tend to agree with TJ, here. I realize they aren't matched up or defending each other, but for those "undecided" voters, this would likely tip the scales. Or....for another cliché....."To the Victor go the Spoils."

So would Biggie, but Purdue will not beat Kansas if Mason outplays Biggie. Biggie may not score as much as usual, rebound as much or grab teh stats that a fan may say he outplayed Mason or not. Biggie will set the screens, make a pass, occupy others keeping him off the boards and have a defense set on containing him as much as possible. I'm pretty confident that I will not live long enough to see another, work so hard in so many phases to become a "self made player" at such a high level that overcame such high odds. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Biggie's work and Rosie's heart and work to help Biggie.

I guarantee this...Mason won't have people scratching, elbowing, pushing, laying on him and being doubled like Biggie. What we have is a "working dog" versus a "show dog".... :)

Show vs. Go...........nothing like a working breed. Awesome comparison TJ!

for sure...ward..bridges...biggie...and the guards...who knows how far that group could go...
MSU's guards are what held them back. Add Biggie to the mix and I still nk you would have a pre-sweet-sixteen exit from the tourney. Tumtum? Not going to cut it in March, sorry.

you have him ....winston....mcquade sp?...Crean would have a hard time losing with that team. Now Biggie would NOT be in a position for NPOY like at Purdue...but there is some talent there.
